Strange interpretation

Spencer and River arrived at a familiar hotel but they did not enter the hotel rooms. Instead, they went to the underground hotel. River scanned the people around them, full of wonder.

"Are you okay Miss River?" She was distracted by Troy's sudden question behind her. But she manage to smile at him and glanced at Spencer who was in front of them and talked to those men who she thought were like Spencer that was also a businessman.

"I'm okay Troy, by the way, what is this place?" She asked softly but full of curiosity.

"We're in the underground of the hotel Miss," Troy answered her softly. River's eyebrows immediately met because of Troy's vague answer.

"Troy, I know it's underground. I mean, what's have her in the underground?" She looked around then darted at Troy. The butler glanced slightly at Spencer and then turned his gaze back to River.

"There's going to be an underground fight here Miss, so I'm telling you to keep silent and just watch what happens." River just nodded at him with a strange hint. River immediately closed his mouth and caught another glimpse of Spencer who was now approaching their table.

"All settled now boss Spynx?" Troy asked without emotion. Spencer immediately sat down next to River and casually answered his butler.

"It's all fixed Troy, just prepare my 50 million for the bet." River's eyes almost widened at what she had heard. '50 million? Does he just use it for betting? Ah_ what's going on here? ' Chaos enveloped River’s whole being this time. 'He has 50 million money to bet on but to my father who has debt to him that only cost 10 million he almost squeezed my father?' River asked herself confused.

When everyone was ready in front of them, the underground fight that Troy was referring to River had begun. River was devastated by what she witnessed and she suddenly feel terrified because of the abominations she saw in front of her. She was about to stand up when Spencer quickly grabbed her hand causing her to take a glance at him.

"Just stay!" Spencer says without emotion at all. She stared at him intently and River's gaze almost begged for Spencer to just let her out. But Spencer's grip on her hand tightened causing her to soften and comply what spencer's command.

"Don't you ever try to run away again!" Spencer looked at River with no emotion. She just nodded and bowed. She didn't want to see what was happening in front of her so she remained bent over until the end of the underground fight.

When they left the hotel, River almost fainted on the way because of the violence she witnessed. ‘How could the people there attempt to see such intense violence? Don't they feel guilty and afraid of the people who were killed in front of them? ' Question running through River's mind.

After they boarded, Spencer looked at her intently, which made her nervous again.

"Are you pregnant?" Spencer asked River crookedly. River Immediately frowned then wiped her mouth.

"I'm not pregnant! I just can't stand what I've witnessed there on the underground." She admits. But Spencer suddenly laughed softly with sarcasm.

"It's just part of the show, they want that for money so they'll do everything to get the money they're hoping for." Spencer casually answered. River swallowed slowly and turned her gaze to the path that they'd been heading. She still wanted to talk and ask questions but she was driven by fear of Spencer or either his reaction.

"Why don't you speak too much River?" Spencer suddenly asked as River shook her head and feel feathers because Spencer mentioned her name. She slowly addressed and stared intently at Spencer.

"I don't want to say something you don't like or understand, it's better that I just keep quiet for the silence." She answers Spencer truthfully. Spencer smiled sarcastically and finally turned his gaze to her causing their eyes to meet.

"I guess you are secretly manipulating me River Madrigal! Well, I'm not falling for it! You can't take me by your modest and being sensible." There seems to be a strange interpretation of Spencer's words. River's eyebrows met again and it really couldn't stop the confusion over Spencer's strange behavior.

"W_ what!? I'm not manipulating you! What are the behaviors you see in me, that's how I am, no manipulation at all like the one you're accusing me of." She was now annoyed with Spencer.

Immediately the expression on Spencer's face changed and sharp stares were shot at her. She was terrified again but kept her appearance casual to hide her true feelings.

"So you're implying that I'm just accusing you of manipulating!? Is that what you want? To make fool of me!" Suddenly, his mouth blurted to River as if darkness enveloped his whole being.

"You're the only one who said that! I never did accuse you." There was nothing right for River to answer or argue with Spencer so this is all she could answer. Spencer quickly gripped his wrist, causing her to moan in pain.

"Ahhh! A _ what's wrong with you!?" River asked with astonishment in her voice. Because of Spencer's strange behavior, River knew it wasn’t normal for Spencer's shifting behavior so she had to increase her patience and let it go first even though she was already hurt.

"You! Bitch, you are making fun of me! You deceitful women! You only spend men's money so you do everything to attract us, men! F*ck you w _" A crisp slap hit Spencer's cheek causing him not to continue what he was about to say. Tears began to well up in River's eyes and she stared at Spencer boldly.

"I don't know which women you're referring to and I don't know anything about your past! I just don't want you to be like or compare me to the women you've been with or had sex with! Because I don't want this life that's happening in me now and this is all because when I'm with you! So don't you dare slap those false accusations on my face!" River boldly pointed at Spencer. The young man quickly released him and bowed. While River could not restrain herself and just sobbed silently. She didn't want to hurt Spencer but this time she couldn't control herself.
