19- Birthday Party

Alessandra Benjamin:

It seemed I had been running in the forest throughout the night. I knew they were following me and I wanted to run away as far as possible.

I was darting through the trees with supersonic speed.

[Keep moving, Alessandra. You can do it, honey.]

Carla! This was Carla’s voice in my head. Oh! How I missed her.

[Where are you, Carla? I miss you so much.]

[I am right here, Alessandra. I miss you too. But don’t halt. Stop doubting yourself.]

I kept running but this time there were happy tears in my eyes. Carla was with me.

But something was missing. What was it?

I was confused however, I kept running. I could not stop.

[Keep running Alessandra. You are forgetting nothing.] Carla assured me and I decided to trust her. I just needed to keep them away from me. I needed to live.

“Moo!” The child’s sweet voice made me stop dead in my tracks.

[Alessandra. What are you doing? Keep running. They are coming after you.] But I could not move. The voice was so familiar.
