“What do you mean?” I asked, my tone flat enough to cut glass.

Selene’s lips curved, but there was nothing soft in the expression. “I mean the board has been rearranged while you’ve been… busy counting ledgers. And you, Jude, have been moved into play whether you care for the game or not.”
