Mag-log inThe road was indeed filled with people, but it seemed like I was the only one walking on a lonely road. I part of me kept telling me to go back and endure his shits just so I could stay in a place I could at least call home, but the strong part of me gat me moving.
Just then my phone buzzed. I looked at the caller id just to see my aunt's name. She was definitely the last person I would want to speak to right now. She kept calling and calling till I finally picked it. " Why the hell were you ignoring my calls Ariana." She yelled from the other end of the phone. I didn't want to speak, I didn't want her finding out about my divorce because I knew exactly what she would say. " Speak up girl !! Why !!." " Aunty I... I'm on my way coming back to your house." " And you expect me to accept you huh !?. I wanted to purchase a few things from my phone this night and access was denied. I called your husband to complain about this, only to find out what the hell you did Ariana!!. How could you be so stupid!?. Do you love poverty that much that you'd want to crawl right back ? Don't you remember how much we suffered after your parents and my husband died in an accident?. You'll go back..." She paused coughing heavily. This wasn't knew, I've definitely changed my mind about going to her side and she must have known by now. " You don't have to put on an act aunty. Just drink some water and rest. I'll manage on my own you don't need to worry about me." " And what.. about us?." She said still obviously faking a cough. " I'll find a way to get us out if this shit aunt. Just manage and give me some time okey." I said ending the call before she could speak again. I inhaled deeply and exhaled slowly, stopping a cab as I searched my purse, just to see that I have enough money to serve a night at a hotel. I might then head to Molly's place by morning. The mansion scene kept replaying on my head, reminding me of just how it all started. I was simply a cleaner at Sterling properties which happens to be Raymond's company. Raymond was every woman's dream man, his perfect body stature, his handsome face and his aura. And I was among the women that dreamed of being by his side. It was all a mere dream till something occured that changed my life. I came to the office a bit late that day, begging for a chance to clean his office even though I came late. He allowed me, calmly telling me not to hurry and eventually ruin things. He told me to take my time and do my job properly and his response made me smile. Just then, he got a call from the hospital in which he was told that his mother was rushed in, she fell from a building but was rushed to the hospital in time but the only issue was her blood type. She lost a lot of blood and her blood was known as Golden blood ( Rh null ). He was deverstated, stating that he inherited his father's blood and had no siblings who would donate blood to her, and her family members disowned her after she flee with his father only to marry him and have a son. I saw the man I loved break down in tears, afraid to loose him mother, she seemed very important to him. Just then I walked to him, telling him I'll help donate my blood as my blood was also Rh null. He was confused but just then he saw me as an angel in disguise. He stood up, asking me what I ever wanted for helping him, I stood for a minute thinking if whether to speak or not, but finally I said it, " I would love you to make me your wife sir." He didn't hesitate, he put on a call, telling his lawyer to prepare a marriage certificate as he took me by the hand, helped me get into his car and his driver drove off. It was literally my first time of being in an expensive car and I was beginning to like my new lifestyle. I donated my blood and we sat right outside waiting for the doctor to come out with good news. The lawyer came in and gave us the marriage certificate and we both signed without hesitation. But after a few minutes, the life I thought was about to become a fairytale turned into a nightmare. The doctor came out, saying the blood came in late, they were able to save her life but she was now in a coma. Raymond blamed me, saying I had the time to speak ever since that I had the blood but I let him cry his eyes out before I spoke. He didn't say he'll break the marriage, he only said he'll make it a living hell. I believed I'll make him love me if I became the perfect wife, but it failed. For the past 2 years of our marriage all I got was criticism each time I showed him architectural designs I made myself, calling me an illiterate just because I wasn't able to complete my college. He vents his anger on me, never treated me properly, spoke to me like my existence was a mistake, cheated on me once even before Joyce came in. I never regretted divorcing him, I was fed up with his bullshit. " Madam we've arrived ." The driver said gently. I paid him, stepping out of the cab and stepping right into the hotel Heading straight for the reception. " So she's the one." She mumbled clearly unaware that I heard her. " Excuse me? What did you just say." " Nothing ma'am, here's your entry card. Room 301. Take the elevator to the third floor and your first room to your left is your room." She simply said, handing me the entry card and focusing on her laptop again. She didn't even check me in with a name and it all sounded weird. But looking at the way she acted earlier, I ignored it, walking towards the elevator. In no time I arrived at the room she spoke of, opening and stepping into the room. I sat on the bed, as tears rolled off my eyes. He could have just treated me well, because I still couldn't deny that I still loved in. Just then I heard the sound of water, running from the shower of the bathroom. I brought out my defence penknife, heading towards the bathroom. " Who's there ?." Silence. " Who the fuck is there!! Speak or I'll be forced to open the bathroom." I yelled hands still shaking. There was yet another silence. I opened the bathroom door widely, my body stood still seeing who was in the bathroom.TREVOR The mansion was way too quiet now. I walked slowly through the living room, my thoughts still on where exactly Ariana could be at this time. She is mine!!. My property!!. She isn’t meant to go anywhere without letting me know. I am meant to approve her outings, not her making decisions on her own. I removed my suit jacket and threw it on the couch carelessly. My mind kept repeating the same thought. Where did she go? I walked to the bar and poured myself a drink. The glass of whiskey burned slightly as I swallowed it, but it didn’t calm my irritation… not even in the slightest. The problem was not that she left. The problem was that I didn’t know where she went, especially as she belonged to me… even if it’s just for a month. And I hated not knowing things. I placed the glass down and picked up my phone. I dialed a number. The call was answered almost immediately. “Yes, boss.” It was Marcus, one of the men who handled security and investigations for my compan
ARIANA Office hours finally ended.Finally. The building slowly emptied as employees packed their bags and said quiet goodbyes to each other. The long hallways that were full of voices in the morning were now calm. I stepped out of my office and walked toward the main entrance. Today had been exhausting. Not physically but mentally. Being called Vice President still felt strange. People looked at me differently now. Some were respectful. Some were curious. Some were clearly jealous. But the moment that stayed in my mind the most was Trevor defending me during the meeting. I still didn’t understand that man. One moment he treated me like I was just part of his contract. The next moment he made sure no one disrespected me. I sighed quietly and stepped outside the building. And what the hell is wrong with that whore!! She clearly knew I wouldn’t be able to answer such questions, so why ask them in the first place…. “Or maybe it’s her way of exerting revenge.” I scoffed. “
ARIANA Morning light crept slowly through the tall glass windows as I squatted my eyes. I woke up slowly, my mind and body still heavy with sleep. For a few seconds I didn’t move. The memory of last filled my mind… it was the first time I saw his face while having sex. I turned to see Trevor was already awake. He stood near the large window, his back facing the bed. One hand rested inside the pocket of his trousers while the other held a cup of coffee. He looked like he had already planned his entire day. Wait… I was in his room now??. How .. when… Jezz!!. I pushed the blanket slightly away and sat up, only to discover I was still on my bare body. Just then, I pushed the blanket upwards again. “Good morning,” I said quietly. He didn’t turn immediately. Then he took a sip of his coffee and spoke. “From today onward,” he said calmly, “you will sleep in my room.” I frowned instantly. “What?” He finally turned around. His expression was neutral. “Your belongings will
ARIANA My foot wobbled as I held the pole. How does he manage to do this?. Making the little strong girl in me disappear in seconds. Then.. His shirt dropped on the ground and my eyes left the ground and found it’s way to his damn sexy chest.. his tattoos.. Damn!!He didn’t speak, he squatted, removing the hells and stepping back to sit on the bed. He wanted a performance I guess. Ughhhhhh. I looked at the way he placed my hands.. I mastered it immediately. I was about moving when I heard his voice.. or should I call it an order. “ Change that!!.” Change wah…. “Ohhhh.” I replied looking at my outfit. I swallowed hard as I moved to the hanger filled with lingeries. My eyes found a red one, with a cat mask close by. I didn’t think twice before picking it up…. Even if something eventually happens this night, he won’t need to blind fold me. My eyes drifted to Trevor, seems his eyes never left my sight. I undressed in front of him, knowing he would have said something if I trie
RAYMOND The car door slammed harder than it should have. I didn’t care. I walked quickly toward the house entrance, filled with rage. My steps were clearly interpreting my current condition. Just then my mind drifted to her again. Ariana. Sitting beside Trevor. Trevor’s hand around her waist. Her calm face and her cold smile. And worst of all…. Me. On my knees. Begging. My jaw clenched really hard at the thought of it. The front door shut behind me as I entered the mansion. I loosened my tie angrily and threw my briefcase across the living room. It landed on the couch with a dull thud. “Damn it!” I shouted. The sound bounced against the walls. I walked straight to the bar and poured myself a drink without thinking. The glass shook slightly in my hand as I swallowed the liquor in one go. It burned down my throat. Still not enough. I poured another. My mind replayed the moment again. Ariana sitting like she owned the world. Like she had never been the ideal wif
ARIANA I could feel Raymond’s eyes on me. Heavy, Burning, Confused or maybe Hurt. Trevor’s arm was still around my waist. Firm. Possessive and Controlling. His fingers pressed slightly into my side like a reminder. You’re here because of me. The table between us felt like a battlefield. Joyce was trying to keep her composure, but I could see it. The tension in her jaw and the tightness in her shoulders. Trevor lifted his wine glass slowly. He didn’t break eye contact with Raymond. Then he turned slightly to me. “Have a sip,” he said calmly. It wasn’t a suggestion. I looked at the glass. Then at him. Then back at Raymond. Slowly, I took the glass from Trevor’s hand. The wine burned slightly as it went down my throat. Trevor’s eyes darkened slightly, watching the movement. Then he took the glass back, placing it on the table. “So,” he said, his voice smooth and cold. “Vice President. Do you want to finalize the contract?” The room went quiet. All eyes were on me.
