Chapter 8.

Alice

The first I saw when I opened my eyes was a pair of blue eyes, looking down at me. I saw curiosity and concern in their depths and I tried to smile. The action caused a sharp headache to hit my head and I groaned loudly, squeezing my eyes shut.

“Are you hurt? Should I call Susan?” The little boy asked me worriedly, his eyes kept bouncing between the door and me. I shook my head gently before I remembered I had a mouth of my own.

“I'll be fine, Kid. Where am I?” I asked, looking around the sparsely decorated room. Apart from the bed I was lying on, there was a small dresser and a stool in front of the dresser. The room was painted a shade of lilac that felt relaxing. The tall curtain at the left side of the room was closed, but the one above the bed was drawn apart, allowing some sunlight into the room.

“This is my house. My dad brought you home last night. You were wet and sleeping. He told my aunt that you begged him not to take you to the hospital.” The little boy with the cute
