Faye’s POV

“We must host the passing ceremony within the week,” Elder Harlan announced, in the packed council room. “Alpha Voss’s condition worsens by the day. The pack cannot remain without a true leader any longer.”

Every seat was filled. The elders sat at the long oak table, the pack officials stood along the walls, and in the center, Thorn sat straight-backed in the chair meant for the next Alpha. I stood quietly behind him, allowed to be here only because the Alpha and Luna had raised me as their own.

Elder Harlan turned to Thorn. “You must prepare, Thorn Millers. In seven days, you will be crowned Alpha of Valkhor. The pack needs stability.”

Thorn nodded once. “I understand. I’m ready.”

Another elder, Mira, leaned forward. “There is one more matter. Tradition demands an Alpha rule beside his Luna. You must present your mate at the coronation, or at least announce her soon after. The pack will expect an heir line to secure the future.”

My heart raced as Ulfa stirred excitedly in my mind.

*Finally. He’ll say it. Everyone will know we belong together.*

I bit my lip to hide a smile. After all the secret nights, all the hidden touches, it would finally be real. I would stand beside him as Luna.

Thorn’s voice stayed calm. “I’ll handle it.”

The meeting ended shortly after. People filed out, offering quiet words of support to Thorn. I waited until the room emptied, then slipped away to my own thoughts, counting the hours until night.

That evening, I knocked softly on his bedroom door and pushed it open. He sat on the edge of his bed, with his elbows on his knees, staring at the floor.

I closed the door behind me and crossed the room, excitement bubbling out. “Thorn,” I whispered, reaching for his hand. “Tonight felt so real. In one week, you’ll be Alpha. And I… I can’t wait for everyone to know.”

He didn’t take my hand. He didn’t even look up right away. His shoulders stayed tense.

I sat beside him, trying again. “I’ve been thinking about it all day. Being your Luna… standing next to you at the coronation. It’s what I’ve wanted for months.”

His head snapped up. Green eyes flashed with anger. “My father is dying, Faye. He’s barely breathing, and all you can talk about is becoming Luna?”

The words hit hard and my excitement died instantly. “I didn’t mean— I’m sorry. I know it’s serious. I just thought—”

He stood up, putting a distance between us. “Go to bed.”

“I’m sorry,” I repeated, with a small voice.

He didn’t answer.

The next few days were the same. He was cold and distant. He barely looked at me in the hallways. At meals, he sat far away. When I tried to touch his arm in passing, he pulled back. There were no more late-night visits. No secret smiles. Nothing.

I told myself it was grief. His father was fading afterall and he needed space.

Then the sickness started.

Mornings brought nausea that sent me running to the bathroom. Food turned my stomach. My breasts felt sore, and one afternoon, while changing, I realized I had missed my cycle. By a full month.

My hands shook as I stared at the calendar.

I bought a test from the pack healer in secret and locked myself in my bathroom. Two pink lines appeared almost instantly.

Pregnant.

Joy rushed through me first. A baby. Our baby. The heir the elders spoke about. Proof that Ulfa was right—we were mates.

I waited until evening, then went to his room. When I got there I heard voices from inside. I paused at the cracked door.

Elder Harlan spoke. “Choose wisely, Thorn. A strong Luna will steady the pack. And an heir soon after will silence any doubt. Bloodline matters.”

“I know,” Thorn replied quietly. “I’ll announce her at the coronation.”

My heart swelled. He would tell them about me. About us.

The elder left moments later, nodding to me in the hallway without suspicion. I slipped inside and closed the door.

Thorn stood by the window, back to me.

“I have the best news,” I said, voice trembling with happiness. I stepped closer. “Thorn, I’m pregnant.”

He turned slowly. His face was blank and cold.

I smiled, waiting for his reaction. Waiting for him to pull me close.

Instead, he spoke flatly. “Then go find the father.”

My smile fell. “What?”

“I’m not responsible,” he said. “Why would you try to pin this on me?”

Tears stung my eyes. “Thorn, it’s yours. You know it’s yours. We’ve been together for months. Only you.”

He crossed his arms. “If you have proof, show it. I haven’t even marked you. Anyone could claim anything.”

“I haven’t been with anyone else!” I cried. “You know that. I’m your mate. Ulfa knew it the first night. You felt it too.”

He shook his head. “You’re not my mate, Faye.”

“MATE?” a voice said sharply behind me.

I spun around to see my best friend. Rieka stood in the open doorway, with her eyes wide, and her phone in her hand.

Relief flooded me. “Rieka, thank goodness you’re here. I need to tell you—”

“Have you been keeping secrets from me?” she cut in, her voice filled with. “Big ones?”

Thorn stepped forward. “You’re here.”

I looked between them, confused. “You… called her?”

He looked straight at Rieka. “She has every right to be in my room.”

My stomach dropped.

Because then he said the words that ended everything.

“Rieka is going to be my Luna.”

  • His rejected curvy secret    Jacob’s Desperate Gamble

Jacob pov The moment the silver light exploded outward from Faye and the baby, panic spread across the battlefield instantly. Wolves staggered backward while shielding their eyes from the brightness. Some of the corrupted wolves screamed and collapsed onto the dirt as the echo surged through the clearing in powerful waves. The ground beneath our feet trembled hard enough to crack further, and the pressure in the air became so intense that breathing itself started feeling difficult. But none of that mattered to me. My attention stayed fixed entirely on Faye. She stood in the center of the clearing with the baby held tightly against her chest while silver light poured around both of them endlessly. Tears continued sliding down her face, and even from several feet away, I could see how badly her body was shaking. She looked exhausted. Not physically alone. Something deeper than that. The fear that hit me at that moment nearly stopped my heart completely because I realized she

  • His rejected curvy secret    The First Test

Faye POV Silence surrounded me even though the battlefield was still full of injured wolves, broken ground, and lingering fear. The noise around me felt distant now. I could still hear growls, uneven breathing, and the sound of movement somewhere behind me, but none of it reached me fully. My focus stayed locked on the baby in my arms and the strange presence pressing against my thoughts. The echo had changed. Before, it reacted wildly to danger and emotion. Every surge came with fear or desperation. But now it felt controlled. Aware. Watching me carefully. The silver light around my daughter pulsed steadily against my chest, warming my skin through the bloodstained fabric of my clothes. My arms tightened around her instinctively. Despite everything happening around us, she remained calm. Too calm. That frightened me more than the battle itself. My throat tightened as I slowly lifted my head. Jacob stood several feet away, restrained by Elara. The panic on his face hur

  • His rejected curvy secret    The Corrupted Speak

Darius POV Pain spread through my body so intensely that it became difficult to separate physical agony from the damage happening inside my mind. My muscles kept tightening uncontrollably, and every few seconds my claws pushed halfway through my fingers before retreating again. The constant shifting left my hands covered in blood. My breathing sounded uneven in my own ears, rough and strained, while sweat rolled down the side of my face despite the cold night air surrounding the battlefield. Around me, the other corrupted wolves struggled just as badly. Some paced violently across the ruined clearing while muttering to themselves. Others crouched low against the ground with their hands gripping their heads as if they were trying to physically stop the voices tearing through their minds. One wolf slammed his fist repeatedly into the dirt hard enough to break the skin across his knuckles. Another growled nonstop beneath his breath, unable to stop the sound no matter how ha

  • His rejected curvy secret    Elara’s Secret

Elara pov Jacob’s body tensed beneath my grip the moment I stopped him. I could feel the desperation radiating from him, sharp and unstable, like he was seconds away from tearing himself apart to reach Faye. His breathing was uneven, and the fury in his eyes told me he was already blaming himself for everything that had happened tonight. Riven’s death had broken something inside him. I saw it clearly every time his eyes drifted toward the blood still staining the battlefield. He carried guilt heavily, and guilt made people reckless. Right now, recklessness would kill Faye faster than Korran ever could. “If you touch her now,” I repeated firmly, tightening my grip on his arm, “you’ll kill her.” Jacob stared at me in disbelief. “What are you talking about?” His voice came out rough and strained. “She needs help.” “She does,” I answered quietly. “But not like this.” He looked past me immediately, his attention snapping back toward Faye standing in the center of the clearing.

  • His rejected curvy secret    Jacob’s Breaking Point

Jacob POV The ground remained cracked beneath our feet, and the air still carried traces of the strange energy that had exploded from the baby’s echo moments earlier. Wolves were scattered across the clearing in different states of injury and exhaustion. Some were struggling to stand while others remained on the ground, breathing hard and trying to regain their strength. Blood stained the dirt in several places, and the scent of smoke mixed heavily with the sharp smell of fear. Pain spread through my ribs every time I inhaled, but I barely paid attention to it. Blood had dried along my jaw from a cut I did not remember receiving, and my palms burned from scraping against the rough ground earlier. None of those injuries mattered enough to hold my focus. The only thing I could see was Faye standing at the center of the clearing with the baby in her arms. Something about her had changed. At first glance, she still looked like herself. She still held the baby close against he

  • His rejected curvy secret    Korran’s Confession

Korran povThe battlefield had fallen silent, its quietness making my teeth ache. Not quite like peace, but like the pause before a storm finally tore the sky apart. Every wolf, loyal or corrupted, seemed suspended, caught between motion and hesitation, like the world itself was holding its breath, waiting for the next movement, the next surge, the next choice that would reshape everything.I ignored the chaos around me—the scattered wolves, the injured struggling to rise, the blackened earth still smoking from the last surge. My eyes were locked on her. Faye. The vessel. She held the child against her chest, light radiating from it, a fragile beacon of something far older and far larger than either of us. Every tense muscle, every flicker of her breath, every tiny shift of the glow told me she was on the edge, balancing between fear and faith.Decades of preparation had brought me here. Years of study, careful patience, sacrifices I had never let anyone see, all led to this momen
