WARNING: THE FOLLOWING CHAPTER INCLUDES CHILD VIOLENCE, READ WITH A PREPARED MIND.

“...done…ing it.”

“...a tracking dog?”

“It doesn't look like it, sir.”

The faint voices slowly cleared up in Kyle's ears, his consciousness seeping back in.

“What do we do with it?”

His eyes fell open to the stranger in a lab coat squatting in front of him. He looked unfamiliar, and so did the bright white room. Shifting his gaze to the side a bit further down the room, he felt a shiver run up his spine at the sight of the other man in the room, who also had on a lab coat and was the one who had shot him to sleep.

The boy's father.

**Shit, I messed up.” his body moved groggily, the effect of the drug still weighing him down. **How did I let myself get caught to become dog meat?**

“Take him away,” the man said, his gaze not fixed in his direction, but at something else. “We'll feed him to the kid once he's awake.”

**No.**

The person closer to him moved to obey and he panicked. The kid meant it.

This chapter had me going through a lot for so many reasons, it felt illegal to write this but at the same time, it's not something far fetched from reality. I feel so hurt when a child goes through a lot of hardship.(╥﹏╥) But I could only keep going before the future Dylan found a better family and gets to find a happiness of his own.( ꈍᴗꈍ) Moving on. What were they trying to get from Dylan? A special reward for anyone who gets it right. Once again, your reviews and gems... we know the rest. Love you all.♥️

  • His silent voice.   Link.

Dylan is pregnant. It's been over an hour since Lana dropped the bomb on them, and it's been that long since either of them said a word about it.Once they moved inside the car, he filled Terry and Lucas in with Dylan's idea of giving up on the search for the specialist. How their new goal was finding Jace, stalking Chase and… yeah. That was practically all their conversations for the past hour. His eyes shifted to the front seat where Dylan still remained asleep… Lana's words, not his. He had changed seats because Terry had objected to Dylan sitting with them. It was either Dylan sat in the front seat, or they were both going to stay out.So, he had no choice but to sit behind with the siblings. Leaving the front seat to Lucas and Dylan. The wound on Dylan's neck had been cleaned up, thankfully the pharmacy was so close by. But, with time he came to realize Terry was telling the truth. Even after cleaning Dylan's wound and closing it, Dylan still let out painful groans each time. H

  • His silent voice.   Expecting.

He froze.“Kyle was crying… that bitch.” Dylan's tone grew rough, a little too rough for a normal human. “What the fuck did she do to him?”Dylan's hands fell off his face and a cold chill ran up his spine. His mouth dropped at the drastic change that only took a second. With a tear falling down Dylan's face, his scales spread across the left side of his left face, his pupils had turned a vertical slit while the gold in his eyes glowed brighter and more menacing than it ever felt. “I'll kilL HER!” Dylan growled with a glare and he found his legs freeze up. “I’LL REALLY KILL THAT BITCH THIS TIME.”He watched Dylan slowly rage out and he didn't dare to move an inch. The small horn that slowly grew out of Dylan's head on the left side made him unable to open his mouth to speak. Something cold wrapped him up faster than he could process his thought, and he didn't have to be a pessimist to know.It was fear.“Haa.” the whimper next to him could only let him manage a head turn, and he was

  • His silent voice.   Plan.

His eyes went to Lana who had the same thought as he did. When did Dylan plan to fill them in? Surely it's not because he had a crazy plan up his head?At his thought, Dylan turned to him.“Thanks for playing along, and... sorry, I wasn't sure it would work out so I was only going with the flow and wanted to be sure of my plan.”“And what is this flow going to bring out?” He had to ask.“We're going undercover.” Dylan dropped without a hint of hesitation.“Uhm, by undercover,” Lana stole a glance at him with concern. “Are you saying…”“Yes, we're stalking him.” Dylan faced the hospital without a shred of hesitation, and Lana shot him a wide eyed look before Dylan faced them again. “I asked you to check if he's a dragon because I can't risk this conversation being overheard by him. Honestly, it's just a bet. That guy says it's been so long since he last saw Jace, but after seeing him again I'm sure. He was the one Jace had gone to see that day.”“B-but he said it's been so long since h

  • His silent voice.   Bait.

So basically, they were going to draw him out? With a hairpin? “Lana,” “Yes?!” She jumped at Dylan's call, making them both flinch. “I… I just wanted to ask you a question.” Dylan's voice trailed off with a surprised look. “S-sorry, I was just surprised you knew my name.” “I mean, everyone's been calling you that.” Dylan stated the obvious. “Yeah, sorry.” Lana pursed her lips in apology. Was she still cautious of Dylan, even when he sat between them? “You say you're a dragon right?” Dylan resumed his question, carefully lowering his tone even more. “Yeah.” “You don't happen to be able to hear voices from far away, do you? Like, really far.” “Actually, I do.” Lana got serious. “How far away?” Dylan squinted. “Far enough to hear what goes on in the third room on the left.” Lana perked her ears, her eyes falling to the ground as she listened in. “I can.” She replied and he found his lips mouth pout in surprise. “That's cool.” He mumbled. “Then do you think you could

  • His silent voice.   Dr. Chase.

He paused at Dylan's claim.“I know him.” Dylan said again, his voice growing with certainty. “I saw him that day, and– I think I know who he came here to see.”“T-then we should go see him.” He got excited. It was not their main aim, but it was progress. “I still think it's best if we split up,” Dylan said, “We never know which one of them we could find first.”They all nodded.“You're right.” Lucas agreed. “Then we'll wait behind to keep searching, you guys go ahead.”“Alright.”With them all in agreement, they split up. He and Lana followed Dylan up the floor, then to his surprise, Dylan stopped at the waiting area and pulled them to find a seat.“What's wrong?” He asked and Dylan stared down a corridor at their front.“This was where I met him the last time. I remember him from that day because he warned me about my necklace.”Jace did?“He told me to take it off one minute and then told me to forget what he said.” Dylan said and a glare pulled up his face while he mumbled. “He

  • His silent voice.   Change the search.

Momentarily, no one was brave enough to make a move. Until he blinked and Dylan's gaze shifted to him.As their eyes met, it only took that instance for the dazzling gold in Dylan's eyes to fade out to his usual gray. Dylan blinked in confusion, his eyes glancing around as if trying to recall where he was.“Oh,” he finally let out quietly. “Are we there yet?”“...y-yes.” Terry stuttered, “I’m sorry, I didn't– mean to wake you up.”“No, it's fine. I'm glad you did.” Dylan replied calmly while pulling his side of the door open. The second Dylan stepped out, he couldn't miss the way their chests all fell in relief. His included. He hadn't realized he had also been tensed up when Dylan woke up, his eyes had looked ready to snap at the first person he saw.“Come on guys, let's go.” Lucas spoke up and they all stepped out of the car. "It's only been a day, why is he more terrifying than Kyle was?" Terry mumbled to himself and he stole a glance at Dylan.Terrifying? Sure, he did look a litt
