“Okay.” Dylan nodded, oblivious to what Kyle had to say next.

**Would it be better to explain it to him before showing him? Would that freak him out less? It didn't work on his parents though.**

His parents? He thought, what do they have to do with this?

**Ugh, whatever.**

He watched Kyle proceed to sit back on the floor and begin with his signs.

^^So, I have this thing… it's literally a curse based on who placed it on me, but the truth is… I can change into a dog.^^

Dylan blinked, his head cocking forward in confusion. “Sorry, could you show me that again? I think I misread it.”

^^No, you didn't.^^

His eyes searched Kyle's confident gaze, what he read didn't seem like what had been intended.

“I read that as dog, I'm sure that's not what you said.”

Kyle pursed his lips, and the next act of him proceeding not to correct him made Dylan go silent.

**He's staring at me like I've gone mad, but I have to see this to the end.**

^^Remember my Aunt's dog? Skylar”

He squinted, the

  • His silent voice.   It was Kyle.

"Hey, Kyle," Dylan got up, pulling a confused Kyle along, "You should go now, you don't want to be late for your test."**What? But I still have some time left.**"It's your first test and you probably don't know this but the professors make it mandatory that everyone taking their tests be seated an hour earlier." he lied through his teeth while pushing and barely giving Kyle time to think about what he had said. He pulled the door open and succesfully led Kyle out.**Wait Dylan...**Kyle spun around and he pulled the only move he could think of. Sealing his lips with a soft kiss. One that had never felt so good and guilty free. Pulling away slowly, his need for some thinking space growing as wide as his need for more of that kiss, he whispered over Kyle's lips."I'll see you when you get back."His eyes shifted to the eyes that glowed a blue he was slowly getting used to, and his words seemed to have done the trick as he got the permission to shut the door. His hand pulling it back o

The next day was the day Dylan was being discharged, but Kyle could only find himself staring at the professors going on and about things he didn't care about when he should be with Dylan. Why was he in class and not helping Dylan out of the hospital?Mrs. Kerwood had insisted he compulsorily be in attendance for the day's class. He was going to decline her suggestion but then realized he had been missing the bigger picture. What if Mrs. Kerwood liked someone more studious and hardworking for Dylan? If that was the case then had he not been missing so many points? He's been missing classes without batting an eye and staying with Dylan might have looked like nothing more than an excuse. He couldn't let that happen.Getting Dylan's attention wasn't all he had on his plate, he also had to prove to the Kerwood's that he was worthy of Dylan and not just an unserious boyfriend. His legs twitched below the table at his thought and a timid smile curled up his lips.**Boyfriend. Dylan's my bo

  • His silent voice.   Just a little.

The doctor suggested Dylan stays admitted for a few more days, just to check for any unnoticed injuries or cause of what had been the push for his five days sleep. And the Kerwood's were completely fine with the decision. Mrs. Kerwood had scolded Dylan for getting himself beaten up while trying to save a kid, and Kyle was glad Dylan went with it because they hadn't gotten the time to fill him in.Kyle wasn't still over the words Dylan had dropped on him despite it being two days gone. What did Dylan mean by that? Well, it was obvious what it meant but… all of a sudden? And Dylan's injured so how could he think about that. Shouldn't the first thing he had to say be ‘What was that under the water? What are you? Don’t you have something to tell me?’Weren't those supposed to be his first question? But as he had no one to throw his worries at, he simply waved it off as a joke. Dylan probably didn't mean that and was just trying to get his mind off things. Yeah.“Kyle,” Dylan's call broug

  • His silent voice.   Awake.

Five days since Dylan collapsed at the pool and not once had he blinked an eye open.Kyle and Aaron had managed to rush him out to the hospital, and he thought his emotions would run out of check when he heard the doctor had mention Dylan had two lower broken ribs.It was all his fault. If he hadn't stupidly followed after Casper, or if he hadn't been so weak against Heralis, none of it would've happened. He could only remain thankful to Aaron for finding them just in time. According to him, Theo had placed a call through to him after getting across to Dylan. If Aaron had not found them, he didn't care about himself, but Dylan on the other hand wouldn't have made it.Explaining to the Kerwood's was another trial he was faced with. When Mrs. Kerwood had asked him what happened with fear in her eyes, he didn't know what or how to tell her. That he hadn't been truthful to them all along? That it was due to his negligence? That the curse he had faced underwater had dragged Dylan into his

  • His silent voice.   Dragon's core.

He paused, shocked by the reversed answer he had thought he would get. Their core? What was that? He thought it would be their scales. Darius gave him a smile that told him he knew what he was thinking, but then a serious look pulled up his face. "A dragon's scale is one thing that holds lesser importance to dragons... than to humans. To dragons, their scales represent their form of beauty, strength, valor, an impenetrable mask worn over their entirety. It was important to dragons but not so much as it was to humans." Darius faced him wholely, as if directing his next words directly to him. "To humans... it was their biggest drive of greed. Their biggest source of wealth." Those words sparked a reaction in his chest. His heart growing heavy from the truth he really didn't want to listen to. "One scale of a dragon was enough to make a human a king. So, many humans would always seek after the dragon but die at their merciless hands. The core of a dragon however, was incompar

  • His silent voice.   Darius.

His eyes remained still in a daze, memories of their first meeting which he had passed off as a dream… more like he couldn't be bothered to remember, all came back to him. “You,” his tone softened as he wondered if this was another dream. What happened? Why was he back here? He was just going for the chain in the pool, so what happened? “I remember telling you this isn't a place for you to be at.” His lookalike spoke with such grace he could never reenact. “If you show up here one more time, you might truly lose your soul forever.” “What?” The gentle smile that followed his exclaim told him he meant every word, and yet how could he still smile so gracefully when saying such thing? he thought.Carefully, his spirit got out of his squat and sat on the ground in front of him. Not giving a care about getting his clean white soiled up. “It was you, wasn't it?” the words left his mouth as he finally realized what he had missed the whole time. “That chain, you gave that to me.

"W-what? Why are you just staring at him? What do we do now? We need to give him CPR or something."Aaron bit down on his lips, looking sincerely bothered. But looking bothered wouldn't do anything, Kyle already spent too long in the water, he needed some air as fast as he could get."Aaron!" he grew restless, and Aaron turned to him with an analysing gaze. "You do it." he decided and guided him. "Come on, we have to hurry.""Yeah, no kidding." he grumbled at Aaron's slow reaction as he got up to get in a good position to get Kyle.It was his first time having to give CPR, but it was this or nothing. His clasped hands pressed down against Kyle's stomach and he began pumping as hard as he could. If it was too much force or too little he couldn't tell, if he was blowing down his mouth the wrong way, he couldn't tell. He could only pray whatever he was doing would work. But it seemed he had used up his answered prayers in the water because Kyle wasn't showing any reaction in any way. Hi

  • His silent voice.   Save him.

As much as he would've loved to stare and analyse the shocking sight, he was running out of breath. And time. His eyes shifted to the chains bounding Kyle by the neck, both arms, his waist and legs. Nothing made sense. Not the glowing blue chains, not the imposter he had seen outside, and not the fact that he couldn't begin to comprehend how someone had the time to actually tie Kyle down to pool with chains. None of it. But first he had to get the chains off Kyle and get him out of the water. It's been too long.Hang on just a little longer, Kyle. Please, he thought and touched the chains on Kyle neck. The sight of it looking like the most hurtful.Out of nowhere, he felt a huge gust of wind below him. Before he could realize what was going, a gentle whirlpool formed underneath him and he was a second too late to wish he had avoided it. It's sudden outburst hit him right in the guts and his eyes almost popped out from the excruciating hit as he got sent flying out of the water at o
