Selene finally decided to leave the bedroom after so long. She just didn’t know how to face him, but she knew it must happen one way or the other.
Thankfully, the man wasn’t so dense to have stayed in bed waiting for her. She was even glad that everything that could serve as evidence of their nocturnal activities had been discarded by the stranger.
“You’re finally out of the shower,” Declan spoke as if waiting for his wife to leave for an important function. He looked so carefree that Selene couldn’t help concluding that it was his habit to bring girls here regularly.
After all, nothing made more sense to her as to how relaxed the man looked right now. The whole house screamed of nothing but luxury, and even she was impressed by what she was seeing.
“Good thing he’s just your fling, Selene. Get the heck out of this place.” She chastised herself and moved to walk past Declan, as she headed for the door.
However, he had read her movements long ago and knew she wouldn’t be willing to have any small talk with him. Before she could finally step out of his sight, Declan grabbed onto her wrist firmly.
He did that with just the right amount of strength to avoid hurting her. Just now, he was momentarily lost in his thoughts when he noticed how breathtaking she looked in the attire she donned.
He had described her physique and tasked his able assistant to get her a fitting dress. He wouldn’t allow her to wear the same dress from the previous day after all.
Declan had his reasons for giving her new clothes, not that he would share that with her, though.
“You need to eat something first.” He declared in a coaxing tone, but the young lady wasn’t having any of it. Even the proximity they shared was too stifling for her to bear, or, was it not?
“I’m not hungry.
You can save the meal for your next target.” Selene spat ruefully, averting his gaze. She didn’t know what had come over her, but being too close to the man irked her for some reason.
She expected him to angrily release her so they could part ways on a bitter note, but she couldn’t be any more wrong.
Declan reluctantly let go of her hand, suddenly feeling a little lost now that he didn’t have her in his palm anymore.
“Get your head out of the gutters, Declan. You are too old for these kinds of games.” He chastised himself and released a frustrated sigh,
“Sorry about last night. I know I was a beast, and I apologize greatly.
Please allow me to atone for my bad manners by serving you breakfast in the least.
Just don’t leave here on an empty stomach.”
He pleaded as if he would lose something if she didn’t eat. One wouldn’t be mistaken in assuming that his whole life depended on her eating breakfast in his house.
“I’m not hungry.
I’ll eat when I want to.” She responded dismissively.
Though those were her words, it was as if the constituents of her stomach had rehearsed beforehand about how to embarrass her thoroughly.
Little did she move an inch when the sound of her grumbling stomach filled the quiet stairway. The two had been standing on the stairs leading to the living room and dining area all along.
“Shit!”
Selene cursed out, only for Declan to take the lead and say, “Don’t mind me being around. I could easily excuse you if you want me to.” His words made her feel that the man was being too nice to her, even a little suspicious, if anyone should look carefully.
Realizing that the young lady was being too stubborn for her own good, Declan climbed the two separating steps and closed the gap between them.
He then tucked a loose strand of her hair behind her ear, bent over to be only an inch away from her ear before whispering sensually, “It’s either you eat the food, or I eat you up. Either way, we must both eat breakfast. So, what’s it gonna be?”
As if she didn’t hear anything he just said, Selene, with an obviously bashful look and crimson cheeks could only move a few steps to widen the gap between them.
She didn’t appreciate the man’s behavior, as he should have allowed her to leave by now. People don’t force their flings to eat in their homes, right?
Selene pretended not to have heard his earlier utterances as she responded in jest, “And where would you go if I don’t want you at the table? It’s your house, so you take the first bite. Can’t go about trusting a total stranger, can I?”
She tactfully responded to his previous request about leaving the table for her if she wanted him to.
However, he didn’t bother about how she blatantly ignored him. All he wanted to test was to be sure that he still had an effect on her outside the bedroom.
She hadn’t taken anything since her quick brunch the previous day. To be fair, she didn’t even have a decent meal the whole day, since it was totally hectic with a lot of classes, impromptu tests, and finally completing her professor’s assignments as his course representative.
To top it all off, Selene even had a lot to drink in the evening, a quantity she had never touched before.
Then, instead of taking a long rest to cure her hangover, she chose to stay up the whole night, doing nothing but adult business that shouldn’t have been her cup of tea on a day like yesterday.
“Declan”
As he pulled out a chair for her, he mentioned his name like it was the most natural thing to do right now. Selene was a little confused when she heard that, only for him to respond further, “My name is Declan.”
Selene promised not to ask for his name, so she didn't care even now.
She swiftly grabbed her spoon, totally ignoring him, and began to gobble down the soup like a beggar.
“Gosh! This is so delicious.” Selene closed her eyes and savored the taste of the meal before her. As more food assaulted her taste buds, she could only sneak furtive glances at the man sitting across from her, who did nothing more after tasting the different dishes on the table.
He only munched on some fresh apples and stared as if he was watching TV.
When she was finally done, Selene suppressed a loud burp, which she effortlessly silenced with a glass of water.
From her periphery, she could notice that a beautiful young lady was approaching them. When she got close enough, she had only one word to describe her,
“Beautiful!”
She was smartly dressed in a short black pencil skirt that accentuated all her curves. She also donned a limited edition GD ladies executive long sleeve, carefully leaving the first two buttons undone, just enough to show her cleavage.
What caught Selene’s eye was that the lady was very busty, causing her to unconsciously look down at the sorry excuse of a bre*st she had on her chest.
“Selene, why do you bother to put on bras anyway?
You look just fine the way you are.”
Her mother’s words rang in her head at the sight of the guest’s bust. She felt self-conscious and bitter that he could easily replace her even before she left.
Selene was about to stand and head for the exit when she heard the words,
“Get her bag from the bedside drawer.”
It was Declan’s voice, and before she could come to her senses, the pretty lady’s meek voice sounded out, “Yes sir.”
Soon enough, Selene was presented with a GD lady’s bag that contained various items that surely didn’t belong to her, or so she thought.
Meanwhile, before she could ask any question, he beat her to it, “Your phone, on which my number is saved on speed dial, your dress, panties… Ahem!”
Declan quickly shut his mouth when she shot him a death glare. She was so pissed that Selene didn’t think twice before declaring in finality,
“You were just a fling, mister.
Last night was a wild mistake I wouldn’t wish to repeat.
So, Daddy, please stay away from me and remain exactly what you are; a fling!”
...
To be continued...
What was the lady thinking to wear something so revealing?
“This would look good on you, Selene. After all, you always look good in anything.” Lulu chimed in, waving Gilbert, who held her little one in his hand. “He’s playing the part of an uncle well enough.” Chloe commented, watching Gilbert from afar.“Yeah! We trust him. Even Vicker feels it’s okay to leave the little one with him. I’m so glad to have him around, you know. He makes everything so easy in the company. He’s even my number one spy. “All the girls entered the desiganted suite, and Selene suddenly mocked Lulu, “Oh, he’s no longer Boss Vicker, huh? I guess someone is truly in love…” The girls all burst out in a hearty laugh, but Chloe had a comeback for Selene. “Well, I guess you prefer to hear her call him daddy. I don’t blame you, after all, you’re daddy’s girl.”At those words, a pillow came flying toward Chloe, before Selene feigned an apologetic look. “Oh, your excellency, I’m so sorry the pillow found your chest. It should have met your head, silly!” Selene jumped onto C
“I know the presidency of Bloomsbay is hereditary, you sucker. You need a wife to claim that seat. Was that why you wanted to marry me so badly? What? I am so naive that I fit the perfect role of first lady, huh?” Chloe plopped onto a seat in the garden, bawling her eyes out. She couldn’t believe she played into the hands of Nathan like a fool. “Aunt Celeste, please come and pick me. I want to go home.” Chloe cried into her phone, her finges shaking. On the other side, Celeste didn’t ask too many questions, but only required her to turn on her location. About thirty minutes later, she was in front of the president’s residence, wondering what Chloe was doing there.“Madam, welcome.” A guard welcomed Celeste as if she had been to the place several times. No one stopped her along the way, but rather bowed to her as she passed them by. “There you are, Chloe. Who bulllied you? Tell me.” Celeste hugged the young lady tightly, patting her back so many times. “I also wish to know, Ms Graha
“Selene, I’m exhausted. It’s not fun anymore.” Chloe cried into the receiver, as she spotted a mountain of files on her desk. She had the chance to live peacefully when her uncle was alive. However, upon the sudden demise of Garrett Graham, Paddy literally dragged Chloe to manage the Graham family’s chain of businesses. Chloe had to grow up so fast that she rarely had time to meest her best friend. It was so ironical that Declan’s daughter had to manage the Grayson group, and Celeste had absolutely nothing to complain about. If Magdalene heard the news, all the screws in her head would finally go loose. “Quit complaining, Chloe. At least you still have grandpa to assist you. You know my dad is still recovering from stroke, and mom is always with him. I have to manage two group of companies. Do you dare to combine that with being a mother of two naughty brats?”Selene’s words caused Chloe to burst out in a peal of laughter, and Selene could only follow suit. It became a norm for the t
“My dear mother, I hope you’re happy now. I present to you, the ashes of your eldest son, his wife, and his three children. I hope you feel better when you bathe yourself in their ashes.” Celeste’s blood was boiling in rage, as she placed the vases containing the ashes of all the people she mentioned in front of her mother. One after the other, ash after ash was presented to Magdalene, and she only sat there, looking listless. It was as if the words being spoken was to someone else, and not her.A few days ago, Paddy Grayson decided to make his will known to his children. Despite Declan being many billions richer than the Graysons, Paddy still left something for him. It was this singular act that caused Magdalene to force her eldest son and his family back home. Magdalene shouldn’t have know about the will, but she eavesdropped on the lawyer and Paddy while they were going through the will in Paddy’s study room. No one knew she was there, but Magdalene decided to stop the will from b
[Knock! Knock!! Knock!!!] Miranda rushed to the door, thinking it was the delivery guy who was bringing in the beef stew, vegetable rice, and pizza that she ordered earlier. Well, the food was there as expected, but it wasn't the delivery guy she expected. “You…” Miranda knew she couldn't bang the door in his face, so she could only play along. “How much for the food?” She asked as if she didn't know the person before her. “How long before you tell me about my child?” Leonardo asked sharply, causing Miranda to take a step back. Her right hand was protectively on her flat belly. “Wh… What are you talking about? The baby is not yours.” “Oh, so you agree you're pregnant, huh? Everything matches the last time we fu*ked in this room. So, tell me, who else would be the father if not me?” Leonardo noticed the minute change in Miranda's demeanor as soon as he spoke about them fu*king not long ago. He had a feeling that she missed his touch as much as he missed hers. “Fine! I want my
“How's she?” Declan asked, as soon as they arrived in front of the ward. He needed to hear everything from the horse’s own mouth, and Leonardo was already waiting when they arrived. Celeste was equally scared of what report the doctor might give, but she held her tongue and allowed the young doctor to respond to her brother’s question. It was the same thing on her mind, anyway. “Call down, Dec. She's fine. As a matter of fact, the ecstasy kicked in at first, but we sorted everything out. No need to worry too much.” Leonardo beamed with a contagious smile, confusing the tense siblings standing in front of him. “Leonardo…” Declan called out in a threatening tone, alerting his friend that he was in no mood for jokes. “Yo, man, take a chill pill. I said your little wife is doing just fine. As a matter of fact, Selene is doing great.” Leonardo cleared his throat and continued. “I finally figured out the antidote for the ecstasy. You don't need to know what it is, but be rest assured t
