Chapter 3

Auteur: Hairy Chestnut
My business grew better and better, and the ingredients I prepared were never enough, so I began making frequent trips to the real world to restock.

Soon, some players noticed me.

It was because I always managed to come out of the horror game alive.

They wanted to invite me to team up with them.

I refused without hesitation.

Although I was a player, I had never entered a single dungeon, I only ran my burrito shop.

I guessed I must have been a special kind of player.

To keep this secret and avoid being dragged away for dissection and research, I had no choice but to hide whenever I saw players.

But that day, more than a dozen players walked into my burrito shop.

My shop was far from any dungeon, so they must have wandered in by accident.

I hid under the counter, waiting for them to leave on their own.

They wore identical clothing and all wore masks.

They should have been a team.

At first, the players were extremely cautious of everything around them.

A sausage in the sausage roaster burst with a pop, startling them badly.

Everyone grabbed their weapons and began firing wildly.

In an instant, flames shot across the shop, and the store I had carefully decorated turned into ruins.

The sausage roaster was blown away, and the tables and chairs were blasted into pieces.

After discovering that there was no danger and no NPCs, they removed their masks and slumped onto the floor.

“Looks like an undeveloped dungeon. Boss, we can rest for a bit.”

The leader nodded and also removed his mask.

My eyes widened.

It was actually my ex-husband, Jack Chase!

A wave of terror hit me.

Old wounds ached faintly.

I fell back onto the floor, knocking over the stool behind me.

Jack immediately became alert and moved toward the counter.

The moment he saw me, his eyes lit up.

The next second, someone used an item on me, and my whole body became immobilized.

I could see and hear, but I couldn’t speak.

Other players gathered around to tease him. “Hey, boss found a pretty chick. After you’re done, let us have some fun too!”

Jack glared at that man. “This is my damn wife! The bitch ran off with another man, and I didn’t expect to catch her here!”

He saw the burrito on the counter and let out a mocking laugh.

“So you even opened a shop here and started a life? Tell me! Who’s the man you cheated with?”

With that, he picked up a weapon, smashed the counter, and threw the burrito I had just made onto the ground.

He even stomped on it several times.

“You belonged to the Chase family when you lived, and you still will be after you die! Don’t think you can escape!”

The burrito was covered in dirt.

It had been a pre-order by a customer, they were supposed to pick it up after work.

I begged him with my eyes not to do this.

Unexpectedly, he became even more unhinged.

“Begging won’t help. When we get back to the real world, I’ll beat you to death!”

In the horror game, players couldn’t attack other players, or they would suffer backlash.

But in the real world, there were no such rules.

“Just right, I’m hungry. I’ll try the burrito you made.”

Jack grabbed the deluxe burrito and stuffed it into his mouth.

But he suddenly bit into something foreign. He spat it out and found a severed finger.

Terrified, he immediately threw the burrito away and slapped me several times.

“Damn it, who told you to put something like this inside?”

I rolled my eyes.

It wasn’t even meant for humans.

It had been specially ordered by the patchwork monster from the castle dungeon.

Besides the patchwork monster, I had also taken over a dozen pre-order requests from other bosses.

In less than half an hour, they would come to the pick up their orders.

“We’re so unlucky… We actually encountered a boss awakening—and an SSS-level one as well. I had used up all my items!”“As long as we stay alive for three days, we could leave. Remember this! Do anything you can to survive!”The River God ran into my arms, crying.“Jessica, boohoo! Don’t be scared. You’re safe now. No one will hurt you again.”The Patchwork Monster stepped forward to comfort me. “That’s right. In your world, you get to make the rules.”Their words confused me.Fortunately, Mandy explained, “All dungeons were born from pain. Everyone had suffered greatly when they were alive. But if they didn’t face their fear, they would remain trapped in that pain forever. Over time, they would forget who they were and become mindless killing corpses within the dungeon.”“Bringing you and Jack into the dungeon together was the Boss’s idea. He wanted to force you to awaken on your own, so don’t blame him. If you didn’t awaken for too long, the Supreme God would erase you.”I sh

I had eaten halfway through the burrito when I found a slip of paper hidden inside. It was the final clue. Now that we had gathered all three clues, as long as we found the treasure, we could clear the dungeon smoothly. The remaining players cheered excitedly.Suddenly, Jack used a healing item and leapt up from the ground. He pinned me down and squeezed my neck with all his strength. The veins on his forehead bulged.“Give me the clue! Or I’ll kill you!”This was my first time participating in a dungeon, and I not only had no weapon but didn’t even have a single life-saving item.Jack’s right hand clamped down on my carotid artery like iron. The suffocation came quickly.I pushed with both hands as hard as I could, but I couldn’t move him at all.Out of the corner of my eye, I saw the Patchwork Monster, Mandy, and the Little River God walk out. They stood behind Jack.I pleaded for help with my eyes.“Help me, I’m… I’m the burrito lady… Help me…”But they acted as if t

When I stepped out the door, I seemed to see the ghosts in the kitchen drooling.Just as I took a single step out of the kitchen, a knife pressed against my neck.It was Jack. His left hand hurt so badly that his face turned pale, so he couldn’t do anything else.Perhaps from the beginning, he had planned to steal my work.To survive, he was capable of doing anything.Seeing that time was running out, I had no choice but to return to the kitchen and quickly make a plain burrito.During the trial, Mandy only glanced at it casually before tossing the clue to me.All the players were unconvinced, but under the overwhelming pressure of an SS-level boss, they didn’t dare complain.Only Jack stomped his feet in anger.“Why! My burrito was perfect! That bitch only made a plain burrito!”Displeasure flashed across Mandy’s face, and she kicked him hard in the chest.“Shut your mouth”“If I didn’t have orders from the top, I would’ve killed you already.”Jack continued shouting, “I

“No matter what, let’s enter the castle first and look for clues.”Everyone stood up and walked toward the dark castle, with Jack hiding among them.Only part of my restriction had been removed.I could walk, but I still couldn’t speak.I silently followed at the back of the group. This was my first time participating in a dungeon, so I had to be extra careful. The butler told us that to obtain clues, we needed to complete the Count’s three trials. And the judge of the first trial… was actually the Patchwork Monster. The boss of the Mad Scientist dungeon, SS-level.After entering the dungeon, everyone’s appearance had changed. My transformation was the most ridiculous. My black hair became reddish-brown, and my eyes turned blue.Freckles appeared on my face, and my skin darkened several shades.Even if the horror-game bosses stood right in front of me, they probably wouldn’t recognize me.I gave up on asking the Patchwork Monster for help and decided to clear the dungeon

During this period, “burrito” became an unspeakable word among the players.Because the moment someone said that word, a boss would immediately appear at their door.On the player forum, every post revolved around burritos."Who on earth kidnapped this woman! The entire horror game can’t eat burritos anymore!""Because of this woman, all the bosses entered berserk mode, and the player survival rate dropped below 10%!""Please! Hurry and find this woman and end this!"Some high-level players, wanting to resolve the maddened dungeons and bosses as quickly as possible, even spent a fortune to issue an SSS-level bounty task."Find the burrito shop owner!"But everyone was utterly confused, because no one had ever seen the burrito shop owner.People ran around like headless flies and eventually began to suspect their own teammates.Major teams posted one after another."Whoever kidnapped the burrito shop owner, you’d better give yourself up.
