Ashlyn

I sat at the far end of the main hall, plate full, eyes on everything but my food. Curt kept glancing at me. Chase tapped his foot under the table. They both knew something was brewing. I didn’t speak. Didn’t chew. Just waited.

I was in shock. I almost fucked my ex.

Holster walked in halfway through the meal. Alone. Hair slicked, head held too high for an Omega. He smiled at someone across the room. Someone behind me.

I didn’t turn. Didn’t need to, I already knew who he was staring at. The skinny asshat was looking two sizes taller than his 5.8ft.

Curt groaned under his breath. Chase leaned in. “Please don’t. We just got here."

I stood.

They both stood with me.

“You’re not gonna make it a day, huh?” Curt asked, already regretting everything.

“Sit down,” I said.

Neither of them did.

“You going to talk first?” Chase asked.

“No.”

“You going to hit first?”

“Maybe.”

Curt followed as I stepped around the table. “Can you at least wait until br

  • How to Catch a Mate   Chapter 48

Ashlyn “You were there,” I whispered. “You were the one watching me break my bond.” “I didn’t mean for it to happen like that.” I pushed off him. Hard. “You don’t get to protect me.” “I love you.” “You don’t know me.” “I know enough.” I looked him over one more time. The tattoos. The truth. The lie. And then I walked away. Chapter Thirty Ashlyn I walked out the second I cleared the chamber doors. Didn’t speak. Didn’t look back. Didn’t care who followed. The air outside hit different. Drier. Hotter. My skin still burned from the shift, and my hands were shaking from everything I didn’t get to say. Fucking Deacon. Human my ass. I made it to the edge of the panther ward before I stopped moving. My boots dug into the dirt, and I crossed my arms so I didn’t throw something. “He lied,” I said, to no one. “He watched me break my bond and said nothing.” I felt them behind me—Curt’s heavy step, Chase’s lighter one. They didn

Ashlyn I charged him and everyone shifted out of our way. He didn't respond at first. "Deacon." I growled his name through the honshu. Only it wasn’t the Deacon I left behind. Remember the lethal thing? Well that wasn't just his built after all. He walked in with slow, careful steps, like he knew the weight of what he was doing. Like he knew I was here. He didn’t look human anymore and I paused. Landing on my haunches. Blue hair, cut short at the sides, messier on top. A massive blue dragon tattoo covered his chest. A black panther inked down his rib cage. A wolf on his left side, snarling. Alumni. 'How did we miss that Sheetal?' 'I'll shift back give you the reins for now. We can't kill Allumni wolf it's technically a honshu. But don't tell the others, they can not know' 'WHAT? You can't seriously leave me to clean up your mess.' 'I can.' A shifter who could change into three different forms. I stepped forward before my brain caught up with my b

Ashlyn I stood by the opening of the door watching the two panthers whisper to each other. “Ashlyn, Let’s talk inside,” he said, then motioned for us to follow. The air thickened as I entered his tower. We were thirty-six . A strong pack if they did something and that is if the honsu didn't destroy the entire city. She could be destructive if pissed off. And over the last eight years a lot changed. The honshu was a hundred times stronger and meaner. The tower wasn’t just an architectures dream. It was alive with so many people walking around and busy. There were cleaners, soldiers, some kids and parents, and dogs? A small puppy ran up to Kellan and he dropped down to pet it. The place was a lot different than we imagined. Ellan led us down a corridor with artsy black tinted glass walls, faintly reflective. "It's not much different to its copious outdoors." Chase whispered coming to standing inline with me. "It's a false interlude. They just want us to think we c

  • How to Catch a Mate   Chapter 45

Ashlyn I’d seen it before, but it never got less impressive regardless of how many times I entered Panther City. The streets were tared, and the building painted in dark grey, silky blacks and bullet proof reinforced windows. Some were made out of brick, and concrete whilst others made from metal walls. The tower however always stood tall. A structure carved straight in the middle of the entire city. It's biggest building. They called it the main tower. It was made of black glass and steel, parts of it sharp as blades made especially to keep the dragons off their walls. The outer walls shimmered faintly with protection wards, that made the honshu hiss in annoyance. The honshu like the witches were one of the few who could summon up a good protection barrier. And this one was made by my gran. She liked nice things so the price must've been a hefty one. The vines surrounding the outside as we drive into the towers gates weren’t just plants—they were laced with opium cyanid

Ashlyn We left just after dawn. When I spotted Haden his jaw clenched at the sight of me. And my eyes skidded to Kellan who was joining us. The morning was fresh and after my run in with Holster I doubted any one could piss me off more. We took four chevs and one Land Rover. Each one packed with six shifters, not all were wolf, some were nomads turned pack. Adrian was an Alumni. He was one of the Sentinels that arrived this morning. They were sent by the council. Our chev wasnt the only one full of tension. Curt drove the lead vehicle, with Adrian and his crew. Lechandray took the second, I rode third with Chase, Kellan, Cole, Casablanca and Howard. Haden brought up the rear with the rest of the Sentinels and two junior soldiers. I was relieved not to ride with him. He wasn't thrilled at the realization that we almost went there. Though he lost his mate and was fair game like myself a part of me wasn't over Deacon. He was human sure but I just left him. What the hell was
