Chapter 5

Lorenzo pov

Anna wakes and I tell her what happened during the lashes and guilt fills her face. She looks down as I watch her close.

"Anna Stone what did you do?",she looks up as tears fill her eyes.

"I did it, she whimpers, I dipped all the whips in the Wolfsbayne poison",I sit unable to believe my ears.

"Fuck Anna she isn't healing or doing well at all. Tanner is a mess and Sebastian ordered the camera footage pulled",she sniffles sadly.

"Can we go see her and Tanner?",Anna asks me looking sad.

"Baby that is a bad idea because Tanner is volatile right now and he may snap at us",she wipes her cheeks.

"Please I need to tell them it was me and I reacted crazy but I'm sorry now",I nod as we head to the private hospital wing Bethany is on. Sebastian is standing there looking pissed at us. He knows already I think.

"Lorenzo I told you and her that Bethany is off limits to you, he almost snarls, why are you here?",Anna looks guilty but all I do is glare.

"We wanted to apologize, Anna tries but Tanner scoffs at that, I wasn't thinking clearly. I'm so sorry I didn't mean for her to be this hurt",she started to tear up. Tanner flung the door wide.

"Your revenge got her not breathing without help and infections that won't heal. Your revenge got my mate in this state",He spreads his arms wide and pulls the blanket down and takes the bandages off her back. Open wounds are right there and oozing. Anna covers her mouth as a sob escapes.

"Tanner...",she sobs.

"Save it, he growls, you came to see your handy work well here get closer and look. Maybe cut off her machine for shits and giggles so she stops breathing. Ohhh I know inject her with straight Wolfsbayne to finish her off once in for all",Anna was sobbing and I felt destroyed by this.

Bethany looked fucking awful and I knew deep down she was dying and by the end Tanner could leave mateless.

"Tanner, he slams the door in our faces, I'm sorry I'm so sorry",Anna sobbed at the door knocking lightly.

"You saw your handy work now leave!", he orders. We stand there listening as doc takes blood from Sebastian to try to help Bethany.

"Tanner, I hear Tanner sigh as Ben tries to talk to him, we are terribly sorry for this. Luca was just whipped for disobeying orders".

"Doesn't matter now",I hear him kiss her fingers. I feel this may be all I get to do with her", Tanner says sadly. Sebastian sits and I don't bother speaking to them I just watch Anna sob before I lift her in my arms and hold her tight to me. I stand outside listening in as they talk. I watch doc leave then come back his cellphone in hand.

"A healer is coming Tanner, doc walks in, she is ten minutes out". This probably won't help her and Tanner will lose his shit over it.

"I'm sorry Bethany, he kisses her fingers, so sorry I failed you baby",the steady heartbeat was his only answer. About twenty minutes later a healer walks pass us and into the room leaving the door wide open. We stand watching as she looks Bethany over. She sighed sadly as she looked at Bethany's back. Getting out a container she put a cream on the wounds and I stared in shock as the whips marks closed up and healed.

"Now to give her healer blood and she should wake up",She spoke gently.

"Thank you",Tanner says watching the sixty whip marks all heal and stop oozing. The infection cleared up and her heartbeat got stronger. He may not lose her after all but I bet he still doesn't trust anyone here. I bet he still plans to take her and leave this pack. Eric stood by the door guarding it as Howl members tried to visit. Tanner denied each one but he did let Sebastian and Ben inside. We watched the healer work and a few hours later Bethany was off the ventilator and breathing on her own.

She unfortunately still hasn't woken up but at least the whip marks are healed. I just pray she wakes and Tanner gets to have forever with her. I kiss Anna's head again and sigh. I know us being here isn't helping so I leave.

I carry Anna back to her hospital room and we sit in silence as the gravity of everything hits us.

"I'm sorry Lorenzo, she sniffles, I didn't think when I soaked the whips I just wanted revenge for all I lost",I sigh.

"I know baby, I brush her hair back, Luca and I seriously fucked up everything but we need a chance to show you we won't do it again. Get some rest I got you",she yawned and laid down. I sat watching her and the guilt sank back in.

She shivered so I covered her up with another blanket.

A few days later we all went home but Luca was weaker and quiet. His whip marks weren't healing so I went to find doc.

Luca isn't healing, I look around making sure no one hears me, he refuses to come here. Can you come see him?",doc sighs sadly.

"He can come here Lorenzo ", doc offers softly.

"He refuses since everyone seems to favor the person that ruined our mate relationship. He won't come he says Bethany is a baby killer",doc sighs. I barely notice Ben listening in as I talk. I head back to my brother and mate still upset over everything. Yes Bethany deserved her lashing but her coma was on us. Tanner became a mess and still probably doesn't trust any Howl member. Walking in Luca is sitting on the couch looking exhausted and mad.

"Where did you go?",he looked at me.

"To talk to doc and get him here to look at your back Luca your not healing right. You back is still open and bleeds",he sighs loudly.

"It will close Lorenzo, his rakes fingers into his hair, I'm just weak from the lashing but it will close soon",I growl frustrated.

"Did they use the whips soaked in Wolfsbayne?",he shrugs like it isn't important.

"I'm not sure, he looks at the floor, doesn't matter if they did or not nobody in this pack gives a shit. I disobeyed an alpha order and almost killed a pack member they probably want Sebastian to kill me for it",I huff.

"She in a way deserved the lashing Luca, he nods no, you were upset and hurting everyone could see that too",He sighs then hisses in pain. A knock has me groaning but I answer the door to doc and the healer. She walks in and demands Luca take off his shirt. After putting the cream on we watch his back close. He sighs in relief and starts to look better but doc gives him blood as well.

"Sebastian ordered this because he wants you healthy. He said to rest and eat",we nod as they get done and leave. Luca stands and heads to the bathroom while I stand there shocked. Sebastian could of let Luca suffer but he ordered help for him. The healer only spoke when spoken to and remained quiet till he healed. Looking up Anna is walking to our kitchen quietly.

"Baby",she sighs.

"Just getting a drink",she keeps going. I follow reluctantly because since we got home she withdrew again. Luca has tried to talk to her but she remains quiet. Every night we listen to her scream as nightmares plague her. She sobs at us to believe her and to not take her pup away.

Every night we comfort her but she looks at us with hurt.

Will we ever get through this? I fucking hope we do.
