DEMONS AND DEALS.

Keondra cautiously looked around when the truck diverted into the woods, following a rough track.

“What's happening!?” Hilda jerked up from sleep when her head hit the dashboard. “Ow!” Her palm went straight to her forehead.

“Will you drive more carefully please!?” Keondra turned to him.

Thane took a glimpse of her little face. “Has anyone told you how bossy you are?”

“Wolves are fierce.” She shrugged. “We are domineering in nature. It is our default.”

“How about I take fighting lessons from you?” He asked.

Keondra looked at him like he just made a joke. “You can not be serious right?”

“But I am.” He responded.

“She will give you some lessons.” Hilda chirped in. “But it won't be for free.”

“Demons and deals.” He chuckled.

“What do you want?”

“Shelter and food.” Hilda answered.

“You're asking for too much.” The truck slowly stopped. “Don't get in way over your head.”

“C'mon, it's a fair deal.”

“In case you haven't noticed,” He opened the car door and jum

  • Howl Of Fury   26_What's A Wolf Without Its Scars?

WHAT'S A WOLF WITHOUT ITS SCARS?King Xerxes sat on his throne, his piercing gaze fixed on his advisor standing before him. Michael, a middle age man and average height with a stern expression, seemed oblivious to the king's restless energy. He was wearing a long robe with a hint of gray in his hair."My king, I've gathered the information you requested," Michael said, his voice dripping with formality. "The girl you're searching for was last seen in a car with a demon, she wasn't captured like you requested. However, I must express my concern about your interest in her."Xerxes’ eyes narrowed, his grip on the armrest of his throne tightening. "What concern?" He growled, his deep voice low and menacing. He might be lenient with his kingdom but he is still the alpha and that arrogance comes with it.His actions won't be questioned by an ordinary advisor.Michael swallowed hard, but continued. "Well, my king, she's just a local commoner. She's not worthy of your attention, especially

  • Howl Of Fury   25_I Have Questions.

I HAVE QUESTIONS.The sun filtered through the leaves above, casting dappled shadows on the forest floor. The air was alive with the sounds of nature—birds chirping, leaves rustling, and the distant rush of a stream. Keondra held her two swords on each side. Her black hair tied back in a pontail, her emerald eyes gleaming with intensity as she drew them out.Keondra wore a pale green tracksuit, its fabric hugging her athletic physique as she danced through the woods, her sword flashing in the sunlight. She weilded these swords since she was eleven and inherited her mother's bow when she died. The same quiver and bow she left in the outskirts of Assyria. That was a terrible mistake. Her hands tightened around the swords. She was confused and lost. Not anymore! The sword's blade seemed an extension of her body, moving in perfect harmony with her graceful form. Her focus was absolute, her breathing controlled, as she executed each move with precision. She felt a presence as the sweat

  • Howl Of Fury   24_It Was You.

IT WAS YOU. The cabin was warm and cozy, the fireplace crackling with a gentle warmth that seemed to seep into every corner of the room. Keondra helped her sick friend sit down on the plush couch, carefully arranging the blankets around her to keep her warm. Hilda's skin was pale and clammy, her eyes sunken with fatigue. Just then, Petra entered the room with a steaming bowl of soup in her hands. "Here, Hilda, drink this," she said, handing the bowl to Hilda but Keondra took it instead and helped Hilda take a sip. Hilda was sceptical at first with a scared look on her face. What the hell did Petra cook up? "It's a special blend of herbs and spices that should help you feel better," Petra explained, listing off the ingredients she had used to make the soup. "I added some dried chamomile for its calming effects, and a pinch of moonstone for healing." Aethon lounged in the nearby armchair, his eyes fixed on the flames dancing in the fireplace. “I've heard rumors,” Petra said,

I THOUGHT I LOST YOU!“Let me help you.” He held out his hand. “I don't want to hurt you.”Keondra didn't know why she felt she could trust him.But why should she? It's time to build an army. Not a family this time.An army, like the warrior she is.“Aethon!?” The front door opened and a feminine voice loudly called. “Aethon!”“That's Petra.” He quickly whispered.“She must not know about this.” Keondra shook her head as fear smeared on her face.“I won't say a word.” He nodded. “Just be chill.”“I'll be in my room then.” Her voice got closer. “I can't believe you're still mad at me for putting termites in your tea, get over it, lil bro.” She pushed open the door. “They are nutri..” She stopped when she saw the two in her bedroom. “...tious.”“Petra…” He started but his sister let out a happy squeal.“Keondra!” She ran and took her into her arms. “I can't believe you're here. How did you get here!? Honey, I've been worried sick after Aethon left you and Hilda,” She looked around. “T

AND I KNOW YOU TOO. “And I know you too.” He walked in closer to the bed. “Food?” Keondra looked at the plates. Whatever he cooked smells nice. “Aethon.” She muttered. “You remember.” “I also remember you did not want to help us the last time.” She said. “So why are you helping me now?” She frowned. “Trust me, I just want to help.” “And why should I trust you!?” She angrily said. “Last time, you left us to our fate in the hands of the hunters.” “I was protecting my sister and I.” He said. “That is not an excuse. What you did was inhumane.” She walked pass him. “I do not trust you, so I'm leaving.” “Don't go, please.” He said. “It's not safe out there.” “I do not feel safe with you.” She turned to him. “But you trust my sister.” He pushed. “She's stays here, with me.” Keondra looked around. “Where is Petra?” “She stepped out.” He looked down at the plates. “The food is getting cold.” “You can just heat them up.” She shrugged. “It is that easy for you.” Aethon looked at

  • Howl Of Fury   21_I Know You!

I KNOW YOU! Verdugo? Why did Michael just call her by that name!? Xerxes stepped forward, curious of what his agenda might be. “My king.” Michael called. “Please stay behind the guards.” “It's okay, Michael.” Xerxes raised his hand and took another step, his eyes never leaving the beast. “Verdugo.” The king called. “Why have you embraced us with your presence?” Why are they calling her Verdugo!? That monster! Keondra gave him a low snarl. Xerxes took another step. “Verdugo,” “My king..” Does he not fear her!? Is he challenging her!? And that is not her name!! Keondra angrily growled as her claws rose in the air, striking the king across the room to the wall. “My king!” Michael gasped a surprised shock. Xerxes fell to the marble floor in a pool of blood. He tried to stand but couldn't and slowly passed out. Keondra looked at her claws, soaked with blood. His guards attempted to attack but she easily killed them, with the two elders in addition. Michael slowly steppe
