Oscar seemed a bit off when he returned to the car. I was hoping he would share what was bothering him without asking, but as things were, I knew it was best I kept my curiosity to myself. He had that 'do not disturb' look on his face.

"I was hoping to spend the evening at the park," he finally spoke, and I smiled. Maybe there wasn't any trouble. I might have just been reading meanings to his facial expression. Besides, I couldn't know how he felt.

The park was empty when we got there. It was as if the people had got wind of our arrival and cleared out. It was a private park; therefore, I suspected Oscar might have booked ahead. I wonder why he would go through this much trouble for his plaything. I kept my remarks to myself, hoping not to spoil the mood. He was a big shot. Maybe he didn't want to be disturbed.
