My mother just had to run her mouth. I didn't want Karen to know I had offered Stephanie the same deal. It was an act of impulse on my part and I had already severed the relationship. Stephanie had called me in the morning threatening me. She claimed she was pregnant and she would damn the consequences and go to the press. I was still yet to deal with her issue when my mother created another one for me.

No matter how hard Karen tried to hide it, I knew what my mother told her had hurt her. Things were going smoothly between us and my mother had come to create problems for me.

"What about that arcade we discussed this morning," I said trying to fix the situation. Karen scrunched her nose a bit.

"I don't think I am up for that. I have a tummy ache and I would like to go home from here," she said and I confirmed my suspicions. Although she hid it well it was obvious she was hurt.
