{Aiden’s POV}

Ash and I tore through the last of the cursed dirt like beasts starved for blood. The earth groaned beneath our touch, the spell beginning to weaken under our fury. I could feel her—Lyra. The bond may have been strangled, but her essence clung to this place like a final breath trapped in stone.

And it was that breath that was about to bring hell down on them.

Ash let out a growl beside me, and then—crack.

The ground split with a dry, ancient sound, revealing an entrance carved into the soil and stone, cloaked in dark magic. A wave of cold slammed into us, heavy with enchantments that tasted like rot and betrayal.

“Found you,” I hissed, baring my teeth.

We didn’t wait. We leapt in.

The underground corridor was narrow, damp, pulsing with foul energy. Runes lined the stone walls, glowing a sickly green. Witch symbols. Protection spells. Traps.
