Chapter fifty-eight: Without consolation

The day after his meeting with the detectives, Dan received a visit from Norma and Erick at his apartment. The reason: to talk about the attack on his uncle Christopher's house. The day after the confrontation where Brooke and several policemen died, Christopher went to them to tell them that the unknown creature had indeed saved him from the attack of the vampires and that he had woken up in Central Park hidden in some bushes. He told them that he did not know why he had saved him or why he had taken his computer. Norma told him what had happened hours before in the abandoned industrial park and Christopher assumed, given the times and circumstances in which it had appeared, that perhaps this creature is waging a war against vampires and that it is saving humans who are at risk before his presence.
