Lyra flinched at his harsh tone but she didn't relent. She really didn't want to die and would try every possible means to survive especially with the baby in her stomach. “But what if this is the end, Kael? What if we rot here forever? Damian isn't that stupid. He already knows everything—”

“Knows everything?“ he snarled, his anger rising by each passing second. “I bet that he knows nothing.“

Kael was sure that they might know about his treason plans but certainly not enough to stop it.

Lyra was surprised to hear the confidence in his voice despite their situation and wondered what more plans he is yet to unravel.

“Don't tell me, you still want to go ahead with your treason plans?“ I will advise you to drop it. It's already failed.“
