Elara's POV

"What?" Ethan screamed, his eyes widening slightly as he took in my request. His expression shifted, staring at me to see if I was serious or perhaps crazy.

I wanted him to know I was serious, so I repeated, my voice steadier. "I want you to kill Damian for me, Ethan," I said, gripping his wrist, desperation clawing at me and my nails digging into his skin. 'I need him gone. He took everything away from me. My father's company, my pack, my freedom. Death is the only way I can break free from him, Ethan. Please help me."

He opened his mouth to speak but no words came out. Then he cleared his throat and whispered, "You're asking me to kill the Alpha of Cadman pack, Luna?"

"Yes," I replied. "And I know you can do it. He trusts you so much that he won't even suspect a thing until everything is done."

Silence stretched between us. My heart thundered in my chest as I wondered if I had put Ethan in a tight spot. But I knew this was the only way to break free from that monster and

  • I AM BETRAYED BY THE MOON   Chapter 151

Elara's POV That made me pause, blink. Should I do that? It has crossed my mind several times in the past and each time I had shut down the thoughts. But since I was once punished falsely in the past, maybe it was the only way after all. But before I could respond, his phone rang. He stood quickly. “I’ll be back. Just a minute.” I nodded vaguely, the alcohol already buzzing through my veins. I don’t know how long he was gone. Minutes? Hours? Time slipped through my fingers like smoke. The drinks kept coming, my words started slurring, and my vision blurred. Then he returned. His hands were gentle but firm as he pulled me up from the booth. “You need to get out of here, Elara. Come on. I’ll take you somewhere safer.” I didn’t resist. I couldn’t. I was too drunk, too hollow, too weak. I vaguely remember the ride. But I knew it was a hotel room, white sheets and the cold air from the air conditioning brushing against my skin. He helped me to lay on the bed gently, and pulled off

  • I AM BETRAYED BY THE MOON   Chapter 150

Elara’s POV 9 pm. "Are you sure about this?" Gomez asked for the tenth time after I told him I needed to go to a bar to clear my head. He knows I wasn't the type to drink. In fact the last time I tasted alcohol was on my eighteenth birthday when I was curious to see the reasons why everyone seems to love it. And once, my curiosity was satisfied, I hated it instantly because of its bitter taste. "Yes, Gomez," I replied, my voice sharper than intended as I faced him. "I'm barely holding myself from going back to the palace to stab those bastards." My voice dropped into a whisper. "So.... please let me." He nodded slowly, his gaze never leaving mine. He started the car and drove off silently. Minutes later, he parked at the garage of a bar—Hidden Lair. He gave the valet the car keys and together we made our way inside. The moment I walked into the bar, the scent of burnt cinnamon, wolfsbane residue, and something stronger hit me hard. Gomez had told me the place was strictly for wo

  • I AM BETRAYED BY THE MOON   Chapter 149

Elara’s POV "I lost my baby, Gomez," I finally had the courage to break the news to him. Since it happened I have not told him because I know how much it'd break him. He had looked forward to performing his godfather duties more than anyone else. "What?" He screamed, his voice almost ripping my ears apart. "How the hell did that happen?" I sighed, explaining everything to him in detail including Lyra's involvement. "I swear I'm going to kill her," his voice rose with anger and I knew just how much he'd be seething even without seeing him. "Hope she's been punished?" I didn't answer immediately. Was she being punished? I do not know for now but I know Damian would punish her. If she comes back from the hospital, we would continue from where we stopped, right? "Yes," I finally answered. "She's still in the holding cell for now," I lied. "Please don't tell, mom," I added before ending the call and he promised not to. I couldn't sit still. I was curious on the reason why Lyra had

  • I AM BETRAYED BY THE MOON   Chapter 148

Author's POV Damian felt his heart almost leaping out of his chest. A second child… possibly slipping away. Was the Moon Goddess punishing him for all his bad deeds in the past? This time he would do everything he could not to lose another child. "Can I see her now?" He quickly said as he would want to see how she's faring. "You can't. She is still recovering." Damian nodded, running his hand through his hair in frustration as he watched the doctor leave. He paced the hallway, his thoughts swirling. Hours later, he entered the room where Lyra lay beneath white sheets, her face pale and tear-streaked as she put on her manipulative act again. The moment she saw him, she turned her head away. “Leave,” she said coldly. “Go back to Elara. She’s the one you trust and love, right? While I'm of no importance to you." “Lyra—” He stepped forward, his heart breaking at the hurt in her voice. “No!” Her voice cracked. “You didn’t believe me. You never believed me. And now I regret carryin

  • I AM BETRAYED BY THE MOON   Chapter 147

Author’s POV “Oh… oh God… help!” Damian's legs stopped on their own the moment Lyra’s screams echoed off the dungeon walls. His first instinct was to turn away—to harden his heart and leave her to sort herself out. A heartless woman like her doesn't deserve his mercy. But then her voice came again, piercing through his thoughts, frantic and trembling that it was so difficult to ignore. “DAMIAN! It hurts—our baby! Help me!” His fists clenched at his side, and for a moment, his legs refused to move. For the briefest moment he suspected that she might be faking it. He didn't want to fall for her games like always. But what if it wasn’t a game this time? What if the baby was truly in danger? If something bad happens to her, he won't be able to forgive himself. He let out a heavy grunt of frustration, turned around and ran back to the cell. He flung the door open and found her curled on the ground, clutching her stomach, her face contorted in pain. She wasn't faking it. "What happen

  • I AM BETRAYED BY THE MOON   Chapter 146

Lyra’s POV I sat on the cold, damp floor of the prison cell, seething with anger. My cheek still burned from Elara’s slap, and I cursed her over and over in my head. Who the hell does she think she is to lay her filthy hands on me? How dare she humiliate in front of the maids and guards? But deep down, what really hurt wasn’t the slap. It was Damian. That bastard didn’t even try to stop her. He didn’t believe me despite how much I insisted. But maybe… just maybe, he still might. He had to. I was carrying his child. He wouldn’t risk hurting me… or the baby. That was the only thread of hope I had left. And Kael. That asshole. The reason why I agreed to do this was because I thought he was going to have a counterattack like he always does. But it turned out that he had nothing. He really is becoming powerless and useless, isn't he? Yet, I couldn't even dare mention his name if I was to be punished. The reason is because suspicion would rise on the reason why we were acquainted i
