TWISTED DEJA VU

ELODIE'S POV

I sat with my eyes closed, the makeup artist delicately applying the finishing touches to my face. Memories of the horror from my previous wedding flooded my mind. The mere thought of it made goosebumps fill my skin.

But there was something else bothering me.

Everything happening today was mirroring that day. Same gown, same setting, same words from the artist. It felt like a twisted déjà vu, like I'm reliving that day again but in a different place and under a different circumstance.

Had changing the past only shifted the course, not altered the outcome? Am I still going to die on my wedding day but maybe in a different way?

But I didn't die until 6 months later. Am I going to die sooner because I altered what was supposed to happen? No! Something isn't right here!
