Morning came. It was the sunlight slipping through my curtains that woke me up. For a moment I stayed in bed and listened to the traffic outside. Gosh, I miss this place. A lot of things happened in the previous week but I was glad everything was back to the way it should. I was back to just being Emma living her best life after divorce.

I city was noisy outside. Cars below were already honking indicating the start of another busy work week. It was nothing compared the calm order in the Blood Moon Pack. And yet, this seemed more familiar and homey compared to what I had whenever i woke up at the King’s mansion. Here, i felt more sense of belonging.

I stretched and sat up. The bed felt too wide and too quiet without servants knocking at my door. So, I went to the kitchen and made my coffee. I also cooked some bacons and eggs for breakfast.

“Back to being independent,” Lyra teased in my head. “No omegas running around with trays and clothes ready for you.”
