Violet was surprised. Her hand shook beneath Lily's grip. She slowly slipped her hand out of her grip and looked away from her.

"Grandma, how could you ask me to do that?"

Lily was taken aback when she realized she asked for more than Violet expected. "Is it too much?"

Violet's gaze went to her face and noticed her disappointment. She took hold of Lily's hand again and replied,

"Grandma, you know our family is not fond of him."

Lily shook her head. "Who said that? It's just your mother-in-law who doesn't like him. We are fond of him. No one dislikes him."

"What about dad?"

Lily gave a sad smile to her. "We are not sure why he decided to let his own son go years ago. But, as his mother, I know that he has a place in his heart for his son."

Violet recalled what Clara had told her a few days earlier. Daniel was not the son of Alpha Wesley. She had proof, a DNA report, which Wesley had already seen. Perhaps that was why he chose to divorce Bella and let go of Daniel in the past.
