Ashley’s POV

I didn’t care about the murmurs and whispers from the crowd.

Tears fell down my face as I pointed at him with a shaky hand. “I gave you my heart because I thought you were worthy of it,” I choked out, my voice breaking from all my feelings.

My chest moved hard with every shaky breath. “I let you have me because I believed you deserved my innocence. I love you for years, Jayden—then—and think that you felt the same way. And now, you stand here and say I was just a fling? A mistake? All because I willingly gave myself to you?” My voice got louder, full of hurt and anger.

It hurt. It hurt a lot. To love him so much and be shamed like this.

I turned to Daisy, my supposed friend, my eyes hot with betrayal. “Was it that night? Two days ago, when you tried to tell me something and he stopped you? Is that when you both knew you were mates?”

Daisy snorted, a smug smile on her lips. “I thought you were too blinded by love to see the truth. I only wanted to warn you to back off from my man. But look at you—throws yourself at him like some desperate slut.” She rolled her eyes, and something inside me broke.

Thwack!

The slap echoed, and everyone stared at me, mouths open. I was shocked too, but my anger had built up. I had to make her stop.

Jayden turned to me, his face dark with rage. In a second, he pushed me. Hard.

I fell to the floor, pain shooting through me. I looked up at him, hoping he’d help me up. But he didn’t. He just stood there, looking at me with cold eyes.

“Who would want an orphan with no rank like you to be my Luna?” His words cut me deep. “Do you really think you’re worthy of standing beside me as the Luna of the Oakwood Pack? You actually thought I’d reject my fated mate for you? What could you even offer me?”

I was stunned, unable to speak. An orphan with no rank?

Did he forget that if my parents hadn’t died saving his family, his father wouldn’t be alive today? My mom died protecting his mom, and my dad didn’t make it after the rescue.

“You know why my parents died,” I whispered, struggling to stand, wiping tears with shaky hands. I needed answers.

Jayden looked at me coldly. “Yeah, I know, they died saving my parents after leading them into a trap that almost killed my father. My mother wasn’t lucky enough, but your parents? They died doing their job.”

He turned away, clearing his throat as he spoke to the pack. “Our Luna will only be Daisy, because she is worthy enough to stand by my side.” A cruel smile curved his lips. “And as for Ashley, she’s stripped of her position and banished from the Oakwood Pack.”

Laughter and clapping filled the air. My heart broke into a million pieces.

I couldn’t believe it. I was being banished.

Tears blurred my eyes as I turned and ran. Humiliated and broken, I rushed to my room, grabbed a few things, and left.

At the packhouse gates, Daisy stood there with her maids, arms crossed smugly.

“So, how does it feel to be abandoned?” she sneered.

I tried to push past her, but she shoved me back.

“Daisy, you’ve won,” I said, my voice sharp with bitterness. “You have him now. Just let me go. I’m already banished, I have no reason to stay.”

Her frown grew as she pushed me again, but I stood strong this time.

“Do you mean enjoy it while it lasts?” she snapped.

I looked at her, a small knowing smile on my lips. “I mean that this—your position, your so-called love—it’s all temporary. Jayden doesn’t love you. He never will.”

With that, I pushed past her and walked away. But at the main gate, I stopped.

I turned to look at the pack one last time, my heart hurting. A part of me hoped Jayden would come, realize his mistake, and stop me. Apologize.

But he didn’t. He never came.

I wiped new tears and walked away without looking back. I couldn’t. If I did, I might not leave.

A Few Hours Later

I stopped by the roadside, far from the Oakwood Pack and closer to the human world. Fear chewed at me. I couldn’t go back to the pack, but I wouldn’t survive with rogues either.

My body felt weak, exhaustion dragging me down. I hadn’t rested or eaten in hours.

Everything blurred as I stepped onto the road. The last thing I heard was a loud horn and something hitting me before it all went black.

At the Hospital – Three Weeks Later

My eyes opened slowly, heavy and weak. My whole body hurt, and I felt so tired—like my wolf was slipping away.

I turned my head and saw a man in a white coat beside me. My heart raced, and I tried to growl at him. Then I noticed the white walls, machines, and clean air.

The human world?

“Where am I?” I asked, my voice rough and confused.

He smiled, showing deep dimples. He was handsome, with black hair and bright blue eyes.

“Relax,” he said softly. “I hit you with my car a few weeks ago. You weren’t hurt, but you were in a coma. Honestly, I still don’t understand how. There was nothing physically wrong with you.”

I frowned. Of course, a car couldn’t hurt me. My kind was much tougher.

“It’s weird, actually,” he continued. “My car took all the damage, but you… you were perfectly fine.”

I sighed, my head spinning. I needed to get strong again before anyone found out what I was.

“How long was I out?” I asked carefully.

He put a report on my lap. “Three weeks.”

I breathed out hard, my mind racing, but then he said something that froze everything.

“There’s one more thing. You’re pregnant.”

My heart stopped.

“What?!”

My eyes widened in shock.

  • I Am The Alpha's Rejected Mate    Chapter 246

Jayden's POV "Ella," I groaned, as my hands fisted in her hair. This was not to guide her, but to anchor myself as my entire existence seemed to narrow to the pressure of her lips and tongue. Every stroke and suck of hers was a perfect masterpiece that was designed to unravel me.And this, sadly was working. I could feel for the umpteenth time the precipice approaching, a rather tight tension in my groin that demanded immediate release. But this she denied, as she pulled back with such cruel expertise that left my desire exposed to the open air. "Say it once more!" she demanded from her knees, her eyes holding a vision of devilish power desperation. Just as I was about to fall for this once more, a vision of Ashley flashed before me. At this, my wolf howled and I almost pushed Ella away. But then I didn't. That would be disastrous, one that would reveal my intensions to her before time. No, I couldn't risk that. What was a few more hours of playacting anyways?I looked into her

  • I Am The Alpha's Rejected Mate    Chapter 245

Ella's POV"Tell me!" I repeated. I saw something in his eyes that flashed like doubt, more like a tinge of hypocrisy. But it was quickly gone, as his face twisted into that of desperation. "I do, Ella," he said in a pleading voice. "I fucking do!" I let his reply hang in the air, a challenge and a plea all at once. Then I let a slow, cruel smile touch my lips as I began taking steps forward. "You'd love this one, I promise." The silk of my gown hisses against the stone floor, and I had already gotten close enough to feel the heat rolling off his body. "Good boy," I murmured, as I let my cold fingers trace the line of his jaw, feeling the muscle there as it jumped under my touch. He didn't even flinch. No, not at all. But his eyes, those eyes I met stormy and furious when I first walked into the throne room, melted. My other hand slid down his chest, travelling over the head plane of his abdomen, until my palm pressed flat against the growing bulge in his trousers. He was fuck

  • I Am The Alpha's Rejected Mate    Chapter 244

Jayden's POVLuther's rage thundered across the throne hall. "A fucking signing ceremony is going to take place when the full moon is out. All the Alphas of packs around the continent are to be in attendance, and all for what? Power!! To be given to your mistress!!" His pupils gleamed blue as he said this–bright, burning and untamed. The same wolf that has stood beside me countless times in battle now stood against me in total defiance. Despite the betrayal I felt, I saw truth in his words–one that was enough to quench the anger that simmered on the surface of my heart. A signing ceremony meant that power was to change hands. I gave the order, I gave out the invitation. But there was more to it, and he of all the warriors should be the first to understand.Shutting my eyes, I dragged in a ragged breath. Then I opened them again, calmer now, but still edged with fire. "That..." I began to say, "was the very reason I called for the secret meeting with you and the other warriors. The

Ella's POV The door clicked shut behind Jayden silently, and for a brief moment, I simply stood still, my eyes fixed on the door. His presence lingered like smoke after fire, quite thick and unshakable He surely had seen something, that I knew for sure. I could feel it in my bones. But... what exactly? Letting out a long breath, I finally tore my gaze away, then I turned towards the mirror across the chamber. My steps were slow, silence pressing against me with every move. When I finally got to the mirror, my reflection stared back at me–eyes sharp, yet faintly haunted. I sniffed the air, noting how it reeked deeply of sex. He noticed this too, but it shouldn't be a problem since I still had a spell on him. A heavy sigh escaped me once more, and I shut my eyes. The weight of it all–the years spent achieving this goal, the numerous werewolves I'd fucked to be here–pressed into me. But then, it was just a few more hours. "Finally," I murmured beneath my breath. Finally, I'd seat

  • I Am The Alpha's Rejected Mate    Chapter 242

Jayden's POV "Luther?" His shadow lengthened across the throne hall as he stepped forward, a tray balancing on one arm with seemingly practiced ease. A bottle rested on the tray, just beside my silver cup. "You ordered for a drink, my lord?" Luther's voice echoed in deep bass–smooth and casual. "Well...yes," I slowly answered, my eyebrows still furrowed. "But from the–" "The butler, of course," he cut in swiftly, a flicker of smile tugging at his lips. "Why, I met your faithful butler on my way here and asked that he hand me the tray. I thought it better to serve you... myself." With this, he lowered the tray on the side table, drawing the bottle free. "You must need it, my lord. I see it in your eyes." I exhaled, nodding as I took the cup from him. I felt strengthened at that moment–not of course from by the presence of the drink, but from the sheer weight of Luther's presence. He seemed to be the only one among the present warriors of the Council that I still trusted. "Must

I felt the snarling of my wolf inside me,urging and demanding–but I tried to force my gaze away.Instead,I turned toward the mirror that stood just ahead, my reflection glaring back at me. Jaw hard, and eyes that burned with the residue of the council's judgement was all I could see,and I let out a slow breath, forcing myself forward. A hand of mine brushed against the doorframe as if to leave–but then it struck. An inner impulse, sharper and fiercer than before. I heard my wolf's growl rise in my chest, and I quickly turned back–back to the damn silver of wood that my wolf simply refused to ignore. My fingers moved, more against my wheel as it pried the box free. I froze as soon as I saw it–a pregnancy kit.Air left my lungs in a harsh, silent gasp. The weight of it all,the meaning of it, all pressed down like stone Why...why would Ella possess a pregnancy kit.I still held it,still sta
