Ashley’s POV

I didn’t care about the murmurs and whispers from the crowd.

Tears fell down my face as I pointed at him with a shaky hand. “I gave you my heart because I thought you were worthy of it,” I choked out, my voice breaking from all my feelings.

My chest moved hard with every shaky breath. “I let you have me because I believed you deserved my innocence. I love you for years, Jayden—then—and think that you felt the same way. And now, you stand here and say I was just a fling? A mistake? All because I willingly gave myself to you?” My voice got louder, full of hurt and anger.

It hurt. It hurt a lot. To love him so much and be shamed like this.

I turned to Daisy, my supposed friend, my eyes hot with betrayal. “Was it that night? Two days ago, when you tried to tell me something and he stopped you? Is that when you both knew you were mates?”

Daisy snorted, a smug smile on her lips. “I thought you were too blinded by love to see the truth. I only wanted to warn you to back off from my man. But look at you—throws yourself at him like some desperate slut.” She rolled her eyes, and something inside me broke.

Thwack!

The slap echoed, and everyone stared at me, mouths open. I was shocked too, but my anger had built up. I had to make her stop.

Jayden turned to me, his face dark with rage. In a second, he pushed me. Hard.

I fell to the floor, pain shooting through me. I looked up at him, hoping he’d help me up. But he didn’t. He just stood there, looking at me with cold eyes.

“Who would want an orphan with no rank like you to be my Luna?” His words cut me deep. “Do you really think you’re worthy of standing beside me as the Luna of the Oakwood Pack? You actually thought I’d reject my fated mate for you? What could you even offer me?”

I was stunned, unable to speak. An orphan with no rank?

Did he forget that if my parents hadn’t died saving his family, his father wouldn’t be alive today? My mom died protecting his mom, and my dad didn’t make it after the rescue.

“You know why my parents died,” I whispered, struggling to stand, wiping tears with shaky hands. I needed answers.

Jayden looked at me coldly. “Yeah, I know, they died saving my parents after leading them into a trap that almost killed my father. My mother wasn’t lucky enough, but your parents? They died doing their job.”

He turned away, clearing his throat as he spoke to the pack. “Our Luna will only be Daisy, because she is worthy enough to stand by my side.” A cruel smile curved his lips. “And as for Ashley, she’s stripped of her position and banished from the Oakwood Pack.”

Laughter and clapping filled the air. My heart broke into a million pieces.

I couldn’t believe it. I was being banished.

Tears blurred my eyes as I turned and ran. Humiliated and broken, I rushed to my room, grabbed a few things, and left.

At the packhouse gates, Daisy stood there with her maids, arms crossed smugly.

“So, how does it feel to be abandoned?” she sneered.

I tried to push past her, but she shoved me back.

“Daisy, you’ve won,” I said, my voice sharp with bitterness. “You have him now. Just let me go. I’m already banished, I have no reason to stay.”

Her frown grew as she pushed me again, but I stood strong this time.

“Do you mean enjoy it while it lasts?” she snapped.

I looked at her, a small knowing smile on my lips. “I mean that this—your position, your so-called love—it’s all temporary. Jayden doesn’t love you. He never will.”

With that, I pushed past her and walked away. But at the main gate, I stopped.

I turned to look at the pack one last time, my heart hurting. A part of me hoped Jayden would come, realize his mistake, and stop me. Apologize.

But he didn’t. He never came.

I wiped new tears and walked away without looking back. I couldn’t. If I did, I might not leave.

A Few Hours Later

I stopped by the roadside, far from the Oakwood Pack and closer to the human world. Fear chewed at me. I couldn’t go back to the pack, but I wouldn’t survive with rogues either.

My body felt weak, exhaustion dragging me down. I hadn’t rested or eaten in hours.

Everything blurred as I stepped onto the road. The last thing I heard was a loud horn and something hitting me before it all went black.

At the Hospital – Three Weeks Later

My eyes opened slowly, heavy and weak. My whole body hurt, and I felt so tired—like my wolf was slipping away.

I turned my head and saw a man in a white coat beside me. My heart raced, and I tried to growl at him. Then I noticed the white walls, machines, and clean air.

The human world?

“Where am I?” I asked, my voice rough and confused.

He smiled, showing deep dimples. He was handsome, with black hair and bright blue eyes.

“Relax,” he said softly. “I hit you with my car a few weeks ago. You weren’t hurt, but you were in a coma. Honestly, I still don’t understand how. There was nothing physically wrong with you.”

I frowned. Of course, a car couldn’t hurt me. My kind was much tougher.

“It’s weird, actually,” he continued. “My car took all the damage, but you… you were perfectly fine.”

I sighed, my head spinning. I needed to get strong again before anyone found out what I was.

“How long was I out?” I asked carefully.

He put a report on my lap. “Three weeks.”

I breathed out hard, my mind racing, but then he said something that froze everything.

“There’s one more thing. You’re pregnant.”

My heart stopped.

“What?!”

My eyes widened in shock.

Ashley's POVThe weight of the van keys pressed against my palm like they were forged from lead, heavier than it had the right to be. Jayden's hands too had lingered for too long as he gave them to me,more like he was reluctant to sever the last tether between us,and when he finally did,his eyes said it all. Come back to me.Now, I was just a shadow slipping through the halls of the packhouse on my way to the garage. The hood swallowed my face, the black fabric blending quite perfectly into the dim corridors as I glided past. I could hear the distant hum of the ceremony–cheers, chants, and voices of drunk folks who had no idea that I was still alive. Every sound reminded me that the stage had been set, and Jayden was about to play his role. His forced role. The first camera blinked red above the corner of the hallway, it's mechanical eye sweeping slow arcs and causing me to drop low. My breath cut, and I shifted into my wolf form. Once on four paws, I melted into the darkness, each

  • I Am The Alpha's Rejected Mate    Chapter 256

Ashley's POVMy breath hitched against the cold air of the throne chamber even before I could form words. Jayden's jaw had already clenched, more like he felt that my return wasn't good at all. "What's the matter Ashley?" he managed to ask, taking steps towards me. "I was just leav–" "The kids are gone Jayden," I replied, cutting him short and eating up some distance between us. Jayden's teeth flashed as quickly as his eyes turned blood red. "Who took them?!" I swallowed down my panic in an attempt to make my lungs steady. "Rhea wasn't there, the boys gone too. No trackers were left, not even a fucking scent!" "Bloody hell," Jayden whispered as he began to walk the length of the chamber, pacing like a predator measuring distance. But really he was thinking hard and fast, and his fist curled so tight the knuckles shone white. "Let's get things straightened up," I started, as I too began to pace around the room. "No one knew about the Secret Cave, right?" No reply. "Jayden?!" "

Ella's POVHeavy footsteps echoed behind me as soon as I crossed the field. I froze, the silk hem of my gown making a swishing sound as I turned around in a quick snap of pure fury. My voice came even before my eyes could confirm anything. "Now what the fuck do you want, Vag–" I stopped cold. It wasn't Vagmos. Luther. He stood there, towering and broad shoulders with an unreadable expression. He looked nothing like the other warriors who stood by the sides of the large field, or the careless Oakwood werewolves still laughing at the MC's circus. His eyes was locked with mine as soon as they met, calm and full of confidence, as though it had been waiting for this very moment. "Well, spill it Luther!" I barked, the fury of a thousand thoughts still sharp in my tongue. Luther was visibly unmoved by this, as he only took a confident step closer to me. His calm composure was almost insulting."From the look of things,my lady, you're quite... disorganized and alot anxious. Jayden's n

  • I Am The Alpha's Rejected Mate    Chapter 254

Ashley's POV "Oh Jayden," I moaned beneath my breath as his thumbs lingered against my nipples for a moment longer. But I shifted, tugging my hood back over my head as I straightened up from the throne. The night was far spent. With hunger still raw in Jayden's eyes, he watched me, though his hands finally dropped away as he bent to gather how own clothes. Piece by piece, we both got dressed, our motion synchronized in a way. It struck me that, despite all the time we've spent here, he still looked utterly unbothered that the guests would surely have started murmuring by now.His entire focus was still here, with me. And that was a good thing, for he was slowly erasing Ella's lustful grip from his body bit by bit. "You're good?" He asked me as he buckled the last strap, then turned fully towards me with a steady and piercing gaze. "Yes," I replied, looking into his eyes. "All is good." "David should have left for the mission already." "Yes, he should have," I nodded. "And I ne

  • I Am The Alpha's Rejected Mate    Chapter 253

Ella's POVThe master of ceremony strutted about the platform, a seasoned jester he was. "Ah, our last war with the Sentinels," he bellowed, his arms wide as he painted the memory in the air. "What a glorious mess it was, with wolves tripping over their own tails and warriors fighting their very shadows instead of the real enemy! And don't get me started on the haunts, for even our finest trackers mistook a donkey for a stray werewolf!" This caused the crowd to erupt with laughter, the sound rolling in waves all through the arena. He continued, cracking another joke about a rogue who ran headfirst into a tree mid-battle. The audience responded again, clapping and stamping, as they were drunk in his spectacle and jest. Me? Not in the least. Every word and chuckle grated against my skin. My lips didn't curve, not even in the faintest manner. The Signing ceremony was one I believed to be sacred and between the elders, warriors, and royal blood of the pack. But father didn't see it th

  • I Am The Alpha's Rejected Mate    Chapter 252

Ella's POVThe field was already fully alive with fire and frenzy when I stepped into it. The artificial lights had been put off and replaced instead with ancient torchlight, silks and banners trailing like tongues of flame as the air thrummed with raw energy. Werewolves filled the expanse, their eyes glowing with the unique colors of their wolves beneath the half lit sky. In the wide arena, just at the center, the side events began. A young male stepped forward, one I took to be a delta wolf, and tilting his head backward a bit, he exhaled a wild plume of fire that lit up the night like a dragon's breath. Then his eyes shone purple, giving a hint of the wolf behind this unique ability. The crowd roared it's approval, some stomping their feet while other howled in pure delight. Having such a wolf that converted energy into raw fire was rare in this part of the werewolf world, as such was utilized a great deal in times of war. But this wasn't all, as another round followed, this ti
