Chapter 5

Jasper looked at me in shock “I'm sorry but what did you say?” as he gently let go of my hand.

I just realised what I had said and I began to panic.

“Ruby! Did you just say you're pregnant?” Jasper looked at me with regret in his eyes and he stepped back.

Seconds later Tiffany came out of the bathroom “Ahh this bitch is still here send her away already Jasper” Tiffany came rushing towards me and she raised her hand to slap me again Jasper held her hand.

“That's enough Tiffany Ruby is pregnant” Jasper roared his voice deep

Tiffany looked at me in disgust and disbelief “She's lying she's not pregnant she just said that so she will not face her punishments” Tiffany said nagging.

“I am pregnant, I'm pregnant for Jasper and that's why I vomited on your face I was feeling nauseous” I lied I didn't want Jasper to know that he isn't the father of my child and even worse if he really knew who the father was.

I stood there, my hands sweaty, my body trembling, afraid that Tiffany might ruin everything and ask Jasper to run a DNA test on me and expose me, but to my surprise, she didn't do any but just gave me an angry look and left the room.

Jasper looked at me again “Ruby just go back to your room now” I will speak to you later.

I left his room and went back to my room and on getting to my room I saw almost fifteen missed calls from my mom. I quickly called her back as I was worried about why she called so many times.

“Ruby please come quick, someone came into the restaurant and destroyed everything, the chairs, the tables” My mother's voice was trembling over the phone. I could feel her pain and fear.

I tried to calm her down even for the fact I started panicking and my heart was racing “It's okay Mother I will be right there”

I quickly got dressed and went out of the mansion but none of the drivers were around so I had to use an Uber to get to the restaurant.

When I got to the restaurant I saw my mother crying in front of the restaurant. I quickly got out of the Uber and went towards her to comfort her.

“It's okay Mom, I'm here now,” I said to her in a soft voice to comfort her.

As I entered the restaurant I almost broke down to tears. What my father spent years of his life building for us is gone. windows and the tables and chairs.

Tears began to roll from my eyes and then my phone began to ring. It was Caden.

“Hey Caden,” I said, still quivering, my hands trembling as I held the phone to my ear.

“What's up little dove? You don't sound so good, what's going on with you?” Caden asked, his voice deep but gentle.

I couldn't control myself anymore as I broke into tears “It's ruined everything is gone Caden” I said as I cried even more.

“Where are you little dove? I'm coming to get you and make you feel better.” He said in a worry.

“I'm…. at the… restaurant right now” I stammered my voice still quivering.

“Okay I'm coming to get you right now” Caden replied worriedly

Some minutes passed and Caden finally came to the restaurant, when I saw me I got really emotional and gave him a hug.

“You're finally here!” I said with relief. “I will always be here for you little dove,” Caden said in a soft gentle tone as he hugged me tightly.

“I'm just glad you're here, everything is ruined, somebody came and destroyed the whole place,” I told Caden, my voice trembling as I cried in his arms.

Caden pulled back and then he looked into my eyes and then saw the damage done to the restaurant.

“Nothing a little renovation cannot fix, so just give me a month and I will renovate the place for you” Caden said so calmly.

“Come on now let's go home I don't want you or my baby to be stressed” Caden said as he gently took my hand.

“How are you still so calm?” I looked into his eyes and asked him anxiously.

Caden looked back into my eyes and said “In moments like these all I can think about is being by your side your presence gives me strength and calms my heart I believe that we can face anything today”

When he said that to me I almost broke down

into tears, he is literally the sweetest person alive.

“Come on now let's take you back home I will make sure you and my baby are okay” his voice deep as he pressed a kiss on my hand.

“Caden stop what if someone sees us and also I wanted to drop my mom back home too,” I told him then I went inside the restaurant to call my mom.

“Mom come on let's go let me drop you off at home” I called out to her and waited for a response but I didn't get any.

“MOM! MOM! OH MY GOODNESS CADEN!” I screamed out to Caden.

“What is it little dove?” he asked his face filled with worry

“Caden I can't find my mother I don't know where she went too,” I said in a panic

“Calm down little dove she couldn't have gone far she might be here somewhere” Caden replied to calm me down.

We searched the whole place but we couldn't find her. I began to cry and get more worried. Caden came and hugged me from behind.

Then I suddenly got a message on my phone and when I read it I was in shock the message said “If you ever want to see your mother again come to the old abandoned building at Milton Street”

I broke down into tears again while Caden comforted me “She was right here how could she have gone” tears rolling down my eyes.

Caden held me gently on my waist “Listen Ruby I don't want you to stress yourself just come let's go home and leave everything to me I will inform the police and find your mother trust me” his voice was deep but so gently.

I raised my head and looked at him. He always made sure to make me feel safe even in bad times like this.

We got into the car and drove off back to the mansion. All I could think about was finding my mother and hoping she was safe.

When we got to the house we saw police cars in front of the house and they were blocking the entrance. Me and Caden got down from the car to see what was going on.

We saw the police talking to Jasper and another guy who was in handcuffs and police custody.

“What's going on here?” Caden asked with curiosity on his face

They turned to look at us “Are you, Mrs Ruby Frost?” One of the police officers asked as he looked at me then looked and the guy in handcuffs nodded his head.

The police officer approached me and handcuffed me “Mrs Ruby you're under arrest for the attempted murder of Mr Jasper Tate.”
