I stared at Trevor's back until he disappeared in darkness. My tears dried on my cheeks. His last words shook my whole body.

I lowered my head, letting out a chuckle. I laughed harder at myself, my rank, my looks, my life, and my fate.

Slowly, my laugh faded from my lips, turning into sorrow as tears welled into my eyes again.

My wolf howled inside me, telling me, 'Let me take over.'

I slowly stand up with the help of the wall behind me. The alley was empty. But I did not feel scared. Because the scariest thing had already happened to me.
