"This is.." Wynn started, her jaw hanging low as she gawked at the number of plated food and drinks on his dining table, "This is a feast."

Ethan pulled out a seat for her, and she reluctantly sat down. She watched him dim the lights and light the candles on the table.

Then, he sat across from her, popped the wine open and poured some for her in a glass.

Wynn shot him a deadpan look, "What makes you think a candlelight dinner is part of my list?"

"I don't, I just wanted to cook you dinner."

"And where are the other twenty guests?"

"What twenty guests?" Ethan blinked.

"Do you seriously think I'm hungry enough to eat *all* of this?"

"I did go a little overboard," He chuckled. "Oh, speaking of a candlelight dinner and the list, I'll need a copy of your list and your phone number."

"Okay for the list, and you just lost a point there."

"You're keeping score?!"

"You're not?" She arched her brows, "how would we know the results?"

"I'm thinking through a change of heart? Feelings?"

Saturday morning. A fine moment, especially when paired with a beautiful weather. It was sunny, but not hot. The air was cool, but not cold. Birds chirped in the distance, and there was little to no one out on the streets. It was the perfect morning for a run.Wynn loved it. She had on her running outfit: a tank top, sports skirt with leggings, and a waist pack. It was a couple of minutes past six, and she had yet to break a sweat. Normally, she'd run around the neighbourhood, but that morning, she felt the need to challenge herself. Why? [Having fun with you... I don't hate it as much,] her words from two days ago replayed in her head, and she stopped—letting out a loud, frustrated scream. That was why.Running was her second stress ball. If she couldn't squeeze, she'd run. But on rare occasions—when neither option did the trick—she'd squeeze and run. She grabbed a stress ball from her waist pack, violently squeezing it as she resumed her run. [What was I thinking? What came ov

"This is the last time I'm going to ask," Wynn started, "where are you taking me?"She was in the car with Ethan—this was her fifteenth time asking in under an hour. Ethan didn't mind it at all though. He had a permanent grin on his face as he turned the car, driving into an empty parking lot. "We're here, Hurricane Wynn," he teasingly announced. "Where exactly is 'here'?""If you'd just step out of the car, you'll see."Wynn narrowed her eyes at him, arms crossed. She watched him exit the car, then followed after. Wynn's brows arched when she saw the large building in front of them. The sign read 'Fundoo' with a large 3D image of a paintball gun. "You are a fully grown man," Wynn started, "who took a fully grown woman to a paintball match—as a date, after work.""Yup," Ethan replied, unashamed. Wynn looked at him. "I can't believe I'm about to say this to you but, thank you."Ethan chuckled at the excitement she held back, then slipped his hands into his pockets. "There's one

Ethan smirked when Wynn shot him a look. "Make some time for me tomorrow," he added. "Where are you taking me?" Wynn narrowed her eyes. "You'll see." He shrugged. "But I promise you, it's nothing weird."They got off the elevator and headed for his office. Once inside, Ethan went straight to his desk, grabbed a lunchbox and handed it to Wynn. She frowned. "What's this?""It's a lunchbox," He chuckled. "I figured you'd be too busy to notice you're hungry."Wynn looked between the lunchbox and Ethan, sucking her teeth as she studied him. "I feel uneasy," She breathed. "Everything you do makes me feel uneasy..""Um, can it not?" Ethan let out a nervous chuckle. "That makes things a lot harder for me.""Fine." Wynn sighed. "Thanks.""Oh, and meet me in the garage after work.""Fine, fine." She walked out of the office. •••After work, Wynn grabbed her things and headed to the company's underground garage. She made sure she was the first to leave work so they could avoid being seen b

Wynn quickly pulled away from him, wincing at the throbbing ache that lingered. They both had their hands on their foreheads, rubbing away to soothe the pain. Suddenly, a loud laugh tore through the silence, and Wynn robotically turned to the source. His laugh -this time- annoyed her. "Why on *earth* are you laughing?""Isn't this funny?" He chuckled. "Am I laughing?""Usually, in romance movies the falls are romantic. Yet here we are writhing in pain."Wynn rolled her eyes at him, then got up. He followed, dressing his pants. His gaze fell on her and he grinned, "Too bad though. It would've been nice to stare into your eyes for what feels like minutes.""Only to have yours poked," Wynn muttered, swinging the door open. *Finally, an exit.*She froze when she heard his footsteps behind her, then turned around. Ethan's brows arched in response as he shot her an innocent smile. "What are you doing?""I'm walking you home," He replied like it was the most obvious answer to her qu

"A contract??" Turns out Ethan Sterling was pretty serious about challenging her list. It was the next day, and he called her into his office to discuss an 'important matter'."You're wasting my lunch break to discuss a contract you drew up for a ridiculous challenge?""Yes, and that hurts. The challenge is far from ridiculous, and you've already agreed to it—so no take-backsies."Wynn blinked, too stunned to speak. "As you'd expect, this contract was drawn to avoid you running or changing your mind. And as you demanded, it ends in three months."He passed the contract and watched as she took the paper out with a grip that could crush bones. Her eyes scanned the words on the paper for some time, then she settled her gaze on him. "I had my doubts up until this moment, but you are *seriously* serious about this.""I'm a man of my word," He smirked. "You don't say," She muttered as she redirected her attention to the paper in hand. She furrowed her brows, "'Terms of pursuit, claus
