As soon as my husband left, I was helped back to my bedroom and to my surprise, I found a bouquet of flowers, red and white roses to be specific, and a toiletry bag. On the bedside table, there is a basket of fruits and goodies. I roll the wheels of the wheelchair towards the bed and pick up the bouquet and inhale them, smile, and pull the card out before I read it.

“I know I messed up, and I know that you are mad at me, which you have every right to be by the way, but all I am asking for is a chance to explain everything and be clean to you. What I do not want is to lose you.
