Chapter 56: Blood Donor

"I don't want to lie down!" Cried Liam as Scarlett loosened her hold on him. "I want to hold you, mommy!"

"Baby, you have to. Hugging me all the time will only make your body warmer. We have to cool you down," Scarlett advised, before trying to hush his cries. "Now, now. Listen to me."

"Listen to your mommy, Liam. She knows what is good for you," Samantha said, her hands reaching for Liam, urging him to lie on the hospital bed.

After Liam went into a short convulsion, Scarlett and Boris rushed the boy to the hospital, where he was admitted for a possible infection. Samantha arrived soon after learning the news. Kaleb, on the other hand, had to remain in London. However, he had called a few times since Liam’s confinement.

Boris explained to Scarlett and Samantha how Liam said he was feeling tired and wanted to sleep. He figured the young man was exhausted after several days of late piano practices at school, so he allowed Liam to stay in his room for the remaining afternoon.
