Rolled Paper

Chapter 5| Rolled Paper

What? I? Have crush on him?

Prepare yourself, man!

I quickly stood up and faced him because I was annoyed, but my eyes widened and I couldn't move from my seat.

Because our faces were so close, my world seemed to come to a halt when my red lips were only an inch away from his.

My heart was racing so fast that it seemed to be racing with it. I examined his lips. It was as if he was enticing me to kiss his lips. I can't stop myself. My body moved slowly towards him. I witnessed the emergence of his Adams apple.

He gradually drew his face closer to mine until...

"You're an asshole! Don't expect me to kiss you," he said quietly to me.

Wtf! I was humiliated! Sh*t! I was expecting him to kiss me! Waaahhhhh! What made me think that? Arghhh! I hit Kian this time out of shame.

"Ouch! What's wrong with you, girl?" he exclaimed, but I didn't move.

He rubbed his face that I hit. I just bowed because I was embarrassed. All of the students are staring at me right now. Take me now, Lord! I'm afraid I don't have anything to show them.

"Enough! Ms. Duffel, please apologize to Kian!"

Ms. M's face tells me she's already angry. I realize it's my fault, but I refuse to apologize to Chonggo!

"Ms. Duffel, say sorry!" Kian responded to me in a playful manner.

I gave him an evil look. You're a jerk, man! I wanted to curse and yell at him, but I couldn't because there were so many other students around us.

My posture was adjusted.

"I apologize."

I didn't beg forgiveness. I rolled my eyes and didn't even look at him.

"Are you serious, Ms. Ayisha Duffel?"

Maybe it'd be a good thing if I punched him in the face!

"If you can't accept my apologies, there's nothing I can do."

I sat down without looking at him. What else does he desire? Didn't I apologize?!

""OK! Enough students! That's right. Let's start with the draw. Come here to my table one at a time and take a sticky paper; whoever is written on the paper will be your partner in the activity we'll do."

Ms. M took the box and began calling our names.

"Aww! That's too bad! I don't have a partner among the four princes," my classmate lamented as she knew she couldn't partner with one of the princes.

Sarah came up next. She was still smiling as she did this. She screamed as she unfolded the paper.

" Kyahhhh! Aarone is my partner!" she exclaimed, jumping up and down as if there were no tomorrow. Her smile is as if she won the lottery.

"Next, Ms. Jannah!"

When I turned to face Jannah, I noticed she was pale. This girl must be nervous, hahaha. She took a step forward and looked at me.

"You can do it, Nah," I said back, reassuring her.

Kyahhh! I'm hoping that her crush will be her partner. Jannah took a step closer to the box containing the names of the boys.

She took it out without looking at it. She sat back down without moving. I noticed her hands trembling.

"Nah, are you okay? You look like an idiot," I poked her in the side, but her expression was solemn. Heist!

"Next, Ayisha Duffel."

Holy crap! Don't let me end up in that chonggo, Lord. I'm not yet ready to die. What was once very noisy is now very quiet. What did they eat and how did they stay quiet when my name was called?

I rose slowly and wiped the sweat from my brow.

"I don't want you to be my partner," Kian stated flatly but emphatically. Just enough for me to hear.

When he said it, my face instantly warmed up. I was about to turn to reprimand him when I was taken aback.

No! Ayisha! Don't look back because he's unimportant in your life. I took a deep breath and moved to the front without looking back. I almost fell, but I was able to recover.

What are you talking about, Ayisha? Prepare yourself! If I fall and sink to the floor, they might laugh at me, and Kian might tell me again, "That's not a swimming pool, you ugly!" Duh! That scene has stayed with me up to this day. What a jerk!

My hand was shaking as I slowly drew the box out in front of me. Hooooh! Please, Lord, don't. He wouldn't have done it... God! This is it; I'm hoping not him.

I gripped the paper tightly and turned to face my classmates. I noticed various expressions on their faces. Some appear excited, while others appear nervous...like me.

"Look who your partner is, Ayisha!"

They both yelled at the same time. Huhuhuhu! I don't want to look because I might not like what I see or who I've pulled out.

"What you will do in your activity, class, is learn about your partner's life. It's as simple as what kind of life he leads and who he is. You will learn why he behaves in this manner, as well as give him/her a message about how or what he/she will do to overcome what is happening in his/her life." Ms. M stood up and walked to the center.

"I'll give you three days to get to know your partner, and then you'll record an audio message to your partner. That's all for now; good luck, students!" Ms. M is causing havoc in our classroom after she has left.

"Kyahhhh! Tell me about your life, Papa Aarone! " Sarah said flirtatiously to Aarone.

I don't know what to do; I just stood there stunned, trying to take in everything Ms. M said.

"Sha, are you alright? Who is your partner?"

What's happening to me? I was not even aware of Jannah's presence. I turned to her and forced a smile.

"I don't know who it is yet, I'm afraid to find out who my partner is." Jannah held my hand and squeezed it gently.

"Okay, Sha, there's nothing you can do about it."

I can't help but wonder who my partner will be. Hooooh! Inhale. Exhale. Here it is! I'll look into it. I was nervous as I slowly unfolded the small paper.

When I saw the first letter of his name, I started sweating.

"Sha, what's up? Who's your partner? " she inquired.

"Nah, my partner is..."
