So this was what mind-reading got me. My mate had been sleeping with Serena Hale behind my back for who knew how long, and the broke boyfriend Serena had been turning her nose up at was the heir to the Alpha King himself.

It was evening in the pack’s grandest banquet hall, and people were crowded around to toast Lucian Vale on his latest deal.

They raised their glasses, fawning. “Truly the Alpha’s son. You’ve got your father’s touch.”

Lucian basked in it. He’d already forgotten that this deal was mine, that I was the one who’d closed it, and that he hadn’t lifted a finger.
