CHAPTER 41 YEARNING

Early in the morning while young Phil is having breakfast, he observed that Carmen is not present with the maids that are serving him. He just continues with his food. He wants to see Carmen every morning before he leaves for his university. He muses, "I'll see her this afternoon. Maybe she's been given a different task for this morning."

After that, he goes about his day attempting to do well in school and showing off to everyone around him how motivated he is by having Carmen about him. He never missed a day of school, was consistently punctual, and met all project deadlines. He only wants to do right by Carmen.

There was still no sign of Carmen with all the staff who typically greeted him every time he got home when he returned from his studies and as his car drew up to their house.
