Chapter 4

Auteur: Tiptik
"No, Cade. I can explain."

Alia lunged for Cade's hand. Her face was ghost-white, yet she was still trying to lie. "The bed was broken. He's just here to fix it. I don't even know him! I love you so much. I'd never betray you—"

I grabbed her wrist and landed a slap across her face with everything I had. The force of it sent her head snapping to the side.

"You're still acting?"

I was so furious that my vision went dark and my voice was shaking. "The camera caught every single second. What are you even trying to pull? Do you really think we're both blind?"

Alia was dazed. Even Cade, standing off to the side, looked a little stunned.

Reynolds went even paler. He tried to get up from the floor but was too afraid to come closer.

I had officially lost it.

A second ago, I'd been debating whether to keep my dignity and leave myself a graceful exit.

But seeing Reynolds groveling under that bed with a silver collar around his neck, whatever sanity I had left snapped.

To hell with dignity.

To hell with staying calm.

Why bother with reason at a time like this?

Thinking about our years together, the marking ceremony scheduled for next month, and the fact that he'd been kneeling on someone else's floor like a dog behind my back, I felt my blood surge to my head.

I snatched up a nearby golf club and swung it with everything I had, right at Reynolds' face.

"Didn't you say you were meeting a client? So, this is the client you were seeing? You meet all your clients in bed? Reynolds, I must have been out of my mind to love you for so many years! You make me sick!"

I screamed at him with every strike. My arms went numb from the impact.

Reynolds raised his hands to block a few blows. The pain made him groan, and he looked completely miserable.

"Scarlett! Calm down!" he yelled from the floor. "It's not what you think!"

"Then what is it?"

I swung again, tears finally spilling over. "I saw it with my own eyes! I heard it with my own ears! How exactly am I misunderstanding this?"

Alia shrieked and tried to intercept me, but I backhanded her across the room.

She crashed into the vanity, sending perfumes and jars shattering to the floor.

Wrapping my fingers in the hem of my shirt, I snatched up a shard of mirror glass edged in silver and slashed it across her cheek.

Her scream was loud enough to bring down the roof.

Blood trailed down her face, instantly masking half her features. She collapsed, too terrified to try me again.

Reynolds' face went even whiter. He lunged forward and grabbed my wrist. "Scarlett, just listen to me—"

"Listen to what?" I was practically roaring now.

"Eight years, Reynolds! I gave you eight years of my life! I gave you my best years, and this is how you pay me back? Our marking ceremony is in a month! What am I to you? An idiot?"

By the end, my voice was hoarse.

Reynolds still tried to explain, "It's not what it looks like with her—"

I didn't let him finish. I grabbed a broken bottle from the floor and drove it straight into his crotch.

The next second, Reynolds doubled over and let out a piercing, distorted scream.

Blood began to soak through his pants instantly.

The room went deathly silent.

Even Cade took a half-step back.

Reynolds trembled all over from the pain, his face pale as paper. He curled up on the floor, utterly unable to stand.

My chest heaved as I stared down at him like he was a total stranger.

"You're crazy…" he wheezed, sweat pouring down his forehead.

"Yeah, I am," I emphasized each word. "You're the one who drove me there."

The moment the words left my mouth, my strength vanished. The tears came in a flood. All the betrayal, fury, and sheer disgust exploded all at once.

Just then, Cade reached out and gave my arm a gentle tap. He leaned in and whispered, "Don't cry."

"What?" I was sobbing.

He held up his phone, looking a little sheepish. "I've been livestreaming."

I whipped my head around. On his screen, the viewer count was climbing past a million.

My vision went black, and I nearly fainted on the spot.

  • I Lost My Mind After His Betrayal   Chapter 11

The first thing Reynolds did after being discharged was head straight to my parents' house, hoping to use them to pressure me into taking him back. The moment I heard, I nearly shattered the glass in my hand. "Is he ever going to give it up?"I stood to go deal with him, but Cade caught my arm. "Trash like that isn't worth your time."I looked back at him. "So, what do you suggest?"He slowly curved his lips into a smile. "Leave it to me."I didn't know exactly what he did. All I knew was that from that day on, Reynolds' life spiraled.First, he was utterly humiliated within the pack. He couldn't walk ten feet without someone pointing and whispering. Then, he somehow offended the wrong people and lost his job.His health never recovered either. The old wounds healed poorly, and he eventually just broke. As for Alia, her pack ran into trouble, too, and her reputation hit rock bottom. She went from walking tall on her pack's name to ducking her head every time she stepped outsi

The meeting took place in a highly exclusive, private restaurant. It was just Cade and me in the private room.He was leaning back into the couch with a glass of wine in front of him. He looked as relaxed as a man on vacation. The second I sat down, I cut straight to the chase. "You knew about your fiancee and Reynolds all along, didn't you? And you knew exactly who I was."He watched me for two seconds, then gave a nod. "I did.""So, running into me on the train was intentional?""Yes."I let out a sharp laugh. "Well, points for honesty."Cade arched an eyebrow. "You've already pieced it together. What's the use in lying?"As I stared at him, my fury flared up again. "So, what am I to you? Just a convenient pawn? A useful idiot who happened to cross your path?"Cade didn't answer immediately. He looked down and swirled his glass. After a few silent seconds, he spoke."Yes, I used you. But I didn't frame you, and I didn't frame Reynolds. He cheated, and you were betrayed. Th

Reynolds looked deathly pale. His voice was barely a thready whisper as he said, "It's not what you think with Alia."I almost laughed out loud. "Not what I think? Reynolds, I saw it with my own eyes. What possible explanation could you have?"He pressed his lips together, as if summoning all his resolve."I admit, I wasn't in my right mind. She kept tempting me, telling me that we weren't officially marked yet and I didn't have to take responsibility… I just lost control."I stood by the bed, my stomach churning more with every word.He sounded so entitled, as if this were just a minor lapse in judgment rather than a devastating betrayal. To him, it was just a minor mistake."So?" I cut him off. "Are you trying to tell me you still love me and she was just a she-wolf you slept with in a moment of weakness?"Reynolds looked away, his silence a deafening confession. At that moment, I genuinely wanted to stab him again. My voice was as cold as a winter grave as I asked, "Reynol

The moment I stepped out of the hospital entrance, I ran straight into Mom.She charged at me with fury and slapped me across the face. "What is wrong with you? You don't answer your phone, you won't come home, and you won't go to the hospital! Just what exactly are you trying to do?"My head snapped to the side from the blow, and my temper finally boiled over. "Mom, do you honestly still think I'm going through with the marking ceremony with Reynolds?""Of course!"She glared at me, her eyes red-rimmed. "You insisted on being with him in the first place! You've come this far. You can't just give up!""I'd rather die than go back to him."Mom started shaking with rage. Suddenly, she turned and bolted toward the middle of the busy street.Shocked, I lunged forward to grab her. "Are you crazy?"She sobbed, gasping for air. "Yes, I'm crazy! You won't go to the hospital? You won't swallow your pride? Fine! Then I'll just die right here in front of you!"My head felt like it was go

When I thought about it, I couldn't put all the blame on everyone else. I was the one who insisted on being with Reynolds in the first place. We grew up together. I had loved him for as long as I could remember. At first, Mom and Dad were dead set against it. They thought Reynolds came from a bad background and wasn't a good match for me.I was the most beautiful she-wolf in the pack, and Dad held a position of real power on the Elders' Council.Reynolds, by contrast, was just an average werewolf. But he had been so good to me over the years, and our families were close enough that the relationship eventually gained a silent acceptance. He'd been raised by a single mother in a complicated household. When his father cheated, his mother couldn't handle the betrayal and took her own life. This event left him deeply traumatized. He spent years avoiding intimacy and claiming he didn't believe in fated mates until he met me.Reynolds told me that I was the only person who made him fe

On the way home, my phone nearly vibrated itself to death.I didn't even need to look to know the story had gone viral.Information moved at a terrifying speed these days. In just half a day, Cade and I—two people who had absolutely nothing to do with each other—had already been dubbed the "Victim Alliance" by the Internet. Some people were even starting to ship us."I don't care. I think they're perfect together!""This is so chaotic, but I'm lowkey obsessed.""This woman is a beast. Watching her tear into that trash was so satisfying. I'm living for this!""Finally, a story where the person getting cheated on doesn't just sit there and cry. She went straight for the root of the problem. Literally!""This is the closure we all deserve!"I scrolled through the sea of comments, my head throbbing. This was insane.Having a cheating boyfriend was humiliating enough. Now, it was being broadcast to everyone online.I could already imagine the whispers back at the pack. And my p
