The sun was already high in the sky when Judy and Sophia stepped out of the small taxi.

They stood in front of a modest house with a faded blue gate. The paint was peeling in some places, and the ground outside was a little dusty.

Judy looked at the gate quietly.

Her chest felt tight.

“I haven’t been here in a while,” she whispered.

Sophia touched her arm gently.

“It’s still your home,” she said. “Your mother will be happy to see you.”

Judy nodded slowly and pushed the gate open.

The afternoon sun was bright over the city, but inside David’s office, the mood was serious.David sat behind his large desk. His face was calm, but his eyes were sharp. Papers were spread across the table. Bank reports. Transfer records. Account numbers. All of them were connected to the missing money.Thirty billion. The number still sounded unreal to him.Across from him sat Deputy Cole. He was in plain clothes today, not in his uniform. His face looked tired, but focused.Beside him was Clark—no, not Clark. It was Mark, David’s financial advisor. He was also helping with the investigation. The room was quiet for a moment. Then David spoke.“So,” he said, his voice low, “you are sure about this?”Deputy Cole nodded slowly.“Yes. The money trail leads to a hidden account. And that account is linked to someone close to your family.”David’s jaw tightened.“My uncle,” he said quietly.Cole didn’t answer immediately, but his silence was enough.David leaned back in his chair.“Uncle Cl

Clark sat alone in his office. The room was quiet, but his mind was very noisy. He had just received a message from one of his workers.“Sir, Mr. David took Mrs. Judy to one of the best hospitals in the country yesterday. It is one of the top hospitals in the USA.”Clark read the message again and again. His jaw tightened. His fingers pressed hard against the phone.“The best hospital…” he muttered. His chest felt hot with anger.“So now he is acting like a perfect husband?” he said to himself. He stood up and started walking around the office. His steps were fast and heavy.“That baby…” he whispered. “That baby should have been mine.”He stopped in front of the window. The city looked calm outside, but inside him, there was a storm. He remembered the days when Judy used to smile at him. The days when she trusted him with all her heart. He clenched his fists.“I was the one she loved first,” he said. “I was the one who held her hands, who promised her a future.”His eyes became dark.

The morning sun came gently into the mansion through the tall windows. The light spread across the walls and floors, making everything look warm and calm.Judy woke up slowly. For a few seconds, she just lay there, staring at the ceiling. Her body still felt a little weak, but her heart felt lighter than before. She placed her hand on her stomach.“Our baby is fine,” she whispered softly.Just remembering the doctor’s words made her feel relieved. The fear she had carried for days was slowly disappearing. She sat up carefully and looked around the room. Everything was quiet. The air felt peaceful, like nothing bad could happen there. Then she noticed a tray on the small table near the window. She blinked.“When did this get here?” she murmured. She slowly stood up and walked closer. On the tray were sliced apples, bananas, strawberries, and a glass of warm milk. There was also a small note. She picked it up and read it.Eat this before breakfast. – DavidJudy’s cheeks warmed. The morning sun shone softly through the tall windows of the mansion.Judy sat on the edge of the bed, slowly putting on her shoes. Her movements were careful and slow. She still felt weak from the last few days.David stood near the wardrobe, adjusting his watch. He kept looking at her every few seconds.“Are you okay?” he asked again.Judy smiled faintly. “I’m fine, David. You’ve asked me that ten times already.”He walked closer. “Because I worry. You need to be careful now.”She nodded. “I know.”Today was an important day.David had arranged for her to visit one of the best hospitals in the country. It was a private hospital owned by one of his family’s old friends. He wanted the best care for her and the baby.“No risks,” he had said the night before. “You and the baby deserve the best.”Judy felt warm inside whenever he spoke like that.David picked up her small handbag. “Ready?”She nodded. “Yes.”He offered his hand. She took it, and they walked out of the room together.---

The night was quiet inside the mansion.A soft lamp light filled the bedroom. The curtains were half open, and the moonlight slipped gently into the room. Everything felt calm, but inside David’s heart, there was a storm.Judy was sitting on the bed, her back resting against the headboard. She held a glass of warm milk in her hands. The baby inside her made her feel tired more easily these days.David stood near the window. His hands were in his pockets. He looked outside, but he was not really seeing anything. His mind was busy.He had been quiet all evening.Judy noticed it. She could feel the tension around him.“David,” she called softly, “are you okay?”He did not answer at once. He took a deep breath and slowly turned to face her.“I need to talk to you,” he said. His voice was low and serious.Judy’s heart skipped. She put the glass on the bedside table and looked at him.“What is it?” she asked gently.David walked slowly toward the bed. Every step felt heavy, like he was carr

Clark sat alone inside his car.The engine was off, but he did not leave the driver’s seat. The street in front of him was quiet.People walked past, cars moved slowly, but Clark did not notice any of it.His hands rested on the steering wheel. His eyes looked forward, but his mind was somewhere else.He was thinking about Judy.Again.He had been thinking about her every day.Every hour.Every minute. He could not stop.He leaned back in the seat and closed his eyes.Memories began to fill his mind.He remembered the first time he saw her.She had been standing outside a small shop, holding a bag of groceries. Her hair was tied back, and she was wearing a simple dress. She had smiled at him. That smile had been soft and innocent. It was not like the fake smiles of rich girls. It was real.Clark’s fingers tightened around the steering wheel.“Why did I let you go?” he whispered.Another memory came.Judy laughing in a small café.Judy cooking for him in the tiny kitchen of their old a
