I Made Her a Queen, Lost My Kingdom

Daniel Greene was dumbfounded. They were currently filming a reality show that featured celebrities' homes.

And right then, on camera, I'd just slapped their guest star across the face.

The viewers watching online were livid.

"Who the heck is this jerk? He's the one who shows up at Dan's house, yet he has the audacity to hit him?"

"Where are the members of Dan's fan club? Are you all dead? Go over there and smack him!"

"Don't panic! We're trying to get through security right now. Once we get past the barricade, we'll avenge Dan!"

"H-How dare you hit me?" Daniel looked utterly incredulous. He had clearly been treated like royalty his whole life. "Do you even know who I am?"

"What's going on here?"

A familiar, long-legged figure walked in through the doorway.

Daniel spun around. "Grace!"

Grace Bishop frowned as she touched the red handprint on his face. Then she turned around, and the instant she saw me, her breath caught. "You're back?"

I stared at her coldly, waiting for her to explain herself.

One of the production staff hurriedly asked Grace, "Ms. Bishop, do you know this gentleman?"

"I do," Grace answered.

Daniel stared at her, and his fans also turned to her with stunned expressions.

"He's just some guy who is obsessed with me. He was a fan of mine, but after I turned him down, he just wouldn't stop following me."

When Grace said that, I honestly thought I'd misheard her. But everyone else visibly relaxed.

"Dang. And here I thought they actually had history! That scared me half to death—I thought the scumbag was here to steal Dan's woman!"

"I'm wheezing. One of Ms. Bishop's obsessed admirers actually came all the way here for her."

"Our best actress of the year worked hard to get where she is today, and along the way she met Dan, who struggled alongside her. Does this guy seriously think pestering her nonstop is going to get him anywhere?"

I sneered at Grace. "Worked hard?"

She knew full well that if I hadn't noticed her at the film academy that year, she wouldn't have even gotten one foot in the industry.

When she was at her lowest, she'd been on her knees in front of me, clutching her mother's critical-condition notice in her hands. "Please help me…"

I continued funding her until I left the country to recover from my illness.

Even though I hadn't been by her side for those three years, every coveted opportunity and resource that landed in her lap came straight from my say-so—including this nationally beloved reality show she was on now.

Grace was only stunned for a split second before she turned and leaned into Daniel's arms. "Everything I have today, I owe to myself and me alone. What would you even know about the entertainment industry?"

I was so furious that I actually laughed. If I didn't know the industry, how would I know exactly which opportunities suited her best?

I fixed her with a warning stare. "Grace, get Daniel and all these unrelated people out of my house. This is the last chance I'm giving you."

Three years had passed, but the influence I'd left behind back then was still enough to make itself felt.
