The dinner table was alive with warmth and chatter, plates half-empty and glasses still full of wine.

Yet, despite the laughter, Camila’s tone was still firm.

“I said what I said,” she declared, pointing her fork dramatically at Harlow. “I am adopting this boy.”

Harlow nearly dropped his glass again. “Ma’am... wait, what? You can’t be serious, right?”

Camila folded her arms, and her chin lifted high. “You heard me. You’re adorable, smart, and well-mannered. I need a son like you. Consider it settled.”

Everyone laughed awkwardly, except Camila, who wasn’t smiling at all. She truly meant it.

Cassie chuckled softly, setting down her cutlery. “Aunt Camila, I think you’ve startled him.”

“Oh, nonsense,” Camila waved. “I just want him as my son.”

Harlow forced a polite grin, unsure if he should thank her or run. “I… I appreciate that.”

  • I Married His Enemy: Return Of The Forgotten Princess    Amputated And Brain Dead

EARLIER!!!The afternoon sun streamed through the wide hospital windows, indifferent to pain, shining too brightly for what was about to come.Raymond had barely slept. The sound of the heart monitor in his private ward had become an unbearable reminder of his own fragility. His accident, though not fatal, had shaken him more than he wanted to admit. He’d spent most of the time staring at the ceiling, thinking about Cassie, her cold eyes, her defiance, the way she looked at him like he was nothing. And then there was the accident. His car hadn’t just “malfunctioned.” He was certain of it. He could still see the way the steering wheel jerked out of his grip, the tires screaming against the asphalt before everything went black. He knew it wasn't a coincidence.Cassie’s name lingered in his mind like poison. When his phone rang, he didn’t expect the world to end.He reached for it lazily, pressing it to his ear with a groggy sigh. “What is it?”The voice, on the other hand, trembled wi

  • I Married His Enemy: Return Of The Forgotten Princess    Regina And Mabel's Accident

The car swerved violently to the left, tires screeching against the asphalt. The world spun around them, buildings, light posts, screaming horns, everything a blur of motion and terror.Regina’s shopping bags flew into the air, spilling jewels, shoes, and designer silk across the seats.“WHAT’S HAPPENING?!” Mabel screamed, clutching at the seatbelt.“Stop the car! STOP IT!” Regina shouted, grabbing onto the door handle. The driver slammed on the brakes, but the car wouldn’t respond. It fishtailed, veering into the opposite lane. A truck blared its horn, a deafening warning that came too late. The impact was catastrophic.Glass shattered like rain. Metal twisted and folded with a sickening screech. The world exploded into noise and darkness. Then, silence.Smoke curled from the mangled wreck, mingling with the faint scent of burning rubber. The once-flawless Bentley lay crushed against a concrete barrier, a grotesque ruin of its former glory.Passersby screamed, rushing toward the sce

  • I Married His Enemy: Return Of The Forgotten Princess    Something’s Wrong With The Car

The afternoon sun was high above the skyline.Regina, ever poised and proud, stepped out of the luxury boutique with her daughter, Mabel, in tow. “Honestly, Mabel,” she said, adjusting the diamond-studded sunglasses on her face. “I don’t understand how that girl dares to show her face in our lives again.”Mabel rolled her eyes, her tone dripping with disgust. “Cassie McCarthy Rosewood, or whatever name she calls herself now, is delusional. She thinks she can waltz back into our lives after what she did?”Regina scoffed. “Delusional doesn’t even begin to describe her. That little snake should’ve stayed buried with her parents. Your brother was far too kind to her. I warned him she was nothing but trouble.”The mother and daughter strolled toward the parking lot, their arms full of shopping bags, Chanel, Dior, Prada, each one a symbol of their wealth and vanity. Regina walked with the same regal posture she always had, head held high, chin tilted slightly upward, her perfume wafting l

  • I Married His Enemy: Return Of The Forgotten Princess    Not An Accident

The hospital smelled of antiseptic and panic. Rachael rushed through the sliding doors in a frantic state. Her assistant trailed behind her, clutching her handbag and phone as Rachael demanded, “Where is he? Where’s Raymond Vanderbilt?”The nurse at the counter looked up, startled by the sharp voice. “Ma’am, please calm down—”“Don’t tell me to calm down!” Rachael snapped. “He was in a car accident! I need to see him... now!”Her tone drew attention from nearby patients and doctors, but she didn’t care. Her chest heaved, adrenaline burning through her veins.A young doctor hurried forward. “Are you family?”“Yes! I’m his fiancée.” The lie slipped out effortlessly, her voice trembling just enough to sound believable. The doctor nodded grimly. “Follow me.”Rachael’s pulse quickened as she followed him down the corridor, the sterile walls seeming to close in with every step. They passed nurses moving briskly, pushing gurneys, and carrying trays of instruments. They soon reached the em

  • I Married His Enemy: Return Of The Forgotten Princess    Raymond’s Accident

Raymond’s day was moving like clockwork. Meetings, phone calls, plans, every moment felt like proof that the world was still under his control. He left his office around noon, his assistant trailing behind him, rattling off appointments he wasn’t even listening to.His mind buzzed with plans and ways to destroy Cassie and silence her once and for all.“Cancel my meeting with the investors,” he said sharply as he stepped into the elevator. The assistant blinked. “Sir?”“I said cancel it. I’ll meet them later instead.”The doors closed, cutting off any further questions.By the time he stepped out of the building, he already had a destination in mind.He climbed into his car, a black, powerful SUV, the kind of car that matched his pride. As he started the engine, the world around him seemed strangely quiet. Even the sound of the city traffic felt distant. His mind was clouded by his revenge plot.He didn’t even notice the faint rattle beneath the hood. He didn’t notice the faint delay

  • I Married His Enemy: Return Of The Forgotten Princess    Then, He Will Fall With Her

The sound of Raymond’s car engine roared through the driveway as the black Bentley pulled away from the mansion. The morning sun was merciless against his face, as if mocking his every move. He didn’t mind, though. Power suited him best under daylight.By the time he reached the Vanderbilt Tower, almost all the new staff avoided him.A few of them greeted him, nevertheless. “Good morning, Mr. Vanderbilt,” they chorused. He didn’t respond, only gave a curt nod before striding through the lobby. When he reached his private office on the 28th floor, Rachael was already waiting. She sat on the black leather couch, her legs crossed, wearing a fitted suit and a mischievous smile that didn’t quite reach her eyes.“Raymie baby,” she said with a whine, rising to her feet. “You’re late.”He closed the door behind him and poured himself a drink, ignoring her comment. “You’ve been busy, I assume?”Rachael shrugged. “Busy keeping this company clean while you make it dirty. I have to dine with
