The storm began long before the world even realized a hurricane was forming.

Nikolai had been quiet all morning.

The kind of quietness that didn’t mean peace, but chaos.

The kind of silence a predator carried when he’d already chosen which part of the throat to tear open first.

He sat in his study, his back straight, and his eyes cold, as a thousand tabs opened on the monitors in front of him.

Every screen displayed a different piece of evidence, a different file, a different sin the Vanderbilts had committed over the years.

Fraud.

Trafficking.

Tax evasion.

Illegal weapons.

Offshore laundering.

Political bribery.

Medical exploitation.

Layers... Years... A dynasty built on rot.

Nikolai watched it all like a king preparing for war, not rushed, not emotional, but with a smirk that could make a devil kneel.

He didn’t move as he scrolled, only the slight twitch of his jaw indicating that each memory, each document, each confirmation of their cruelty burned deeper into him

  • I Married His Enemy: Return Of The Forgotten Princess    Daddy Is My Favorite Person

The Rosewoods began filing out toward the driveway, where a line of sleek black cars gleamed beneath the evening sun. Their chauffeur, dressed immaculately in a black suit and white gloves, stood by the first car, opening the door for Gloria and Lucas. Cassie adjusted Emily’s pink bow while Nikolai fastened the tiny straps on her silver shoes. “You look like a princess,” he said. Emily nodded proudly. “Because I am one. Thank you, Daddy!!!” Cassie grinned. “And who’s the king, hmm?” “Uncle Adrian!” Emily shouted. “Excuse me?” Nikolai’s head snapped up. “What about me?” “You’re the funny one,” Emily said sweetly. Cassie burst out laughing again, and Nikolai groaned. “The funny one. Not even the handsome one?” “Naaa... naaa... naaa,” Emily said innocently. Cassie kissed Emily’s forehead. “Smart girl.” “Why are my own family members my biggest enemies today?” Nikolai muttered as he helped Cassie into the car. Inside the luxurious black interior, Cassie leaned back against

Nikolai stood there, surrounded by laughter that didn’t seem to include him. It wasn’t that anyone was ignoring him, they just didn’t see him the way they used to. It was like the moment Adrian walked into any room, the atmosphere rearranged itself around him. Every voice tilted his way, every smile stretched wider, every glance found a reason to land on his annoyingly perfect face. And right now, Nikolai was painfully aware that even his own daughter had traded him for his brother. He watched as Adrian swung Emily around one more time, the little girl squealing with joy, her soft curls bouncing with every spin. “Higher, Uncle Adrian! Higher!” she shrieked. “Little Emily Rosewood,” Adrian teased, slowing down and pretending to look shocked. “If I throw you too high, you might end up on the moon!” “That’s fine!” Emily giggled. “I’ll bring you a star!” Everyone laughed again... everyone except Nikolai. He folded his arms, staring with exaggerated misery. “Unbelievable,” he mu

  • I Married His Enemy: Return Of The Forgotten Princess    Sulking Nikolai

The Rosewood Mansion looked as though it had been carved out of a dream that only the wealthy were allowed to touch. Their wealth spoke volumes without any of them shouting it out. Everyone was dressed perfectly and impeccably. As though this was not merely an anniversary dinner but a ceremonial gathering, one that required them to wear not just fine fabric but the weight of the Rosewood name itself. Nikolai stepped inside first, Cassie beside him, Emily’s small fingers curled trustingly around Cassie’s hand. He wore a sharply tailored black suit, that fit his broad shoulders like it had been molded onto him, but his expression was anything but cold. A deep frown was etched on his face. Cassie noticed it immediately and chuckled to herself. Behind them, Gloria stood near the center of the living room, already dressed in an elegant emerald gown that hugged her figure gracefully, pearls resting against her collarbone like a signature. Lucas stood beside her, adjusting his cu

Rachael bit her lip hard, her nails digging into her palms as hatred surged anew. Cassie’s face flashed in her mind, calm, protected, loved, and Rachael’s jaw clenched. If killing Cassie is the last thing I do, she vowed silently, then that’s exactly what I’ll do. Raymond cleared his throat. “Since we’re all being honest,” he said carefully, “I’d like an answer to the question I’ve been asking you for a while.” Eliana turned to him, amused. She didn’t genuinely care about these two. They were merely her pawns. “You made me give up every share I had,” Raymond continued, his voice tight, “sell my share to Nikolai Rosewood. You stripped me of the remaining of everything I built. So tell me, what exactly do I gain from all this?” Eliana laughed softly. “Your gain?” she repeated. “That’s simple.” She began counting on her fingers. “First, you get your woman back. Cassie. What you do with her after that... kill her, torture her, break her... is entirely your choice.” Raymond’s br

The moment the last hateful word left Rachael’s lips... "If I’m going to die, I’ll take Cassie with me"... the air inside the apartment seemed to tighten. Then... A slow, amused voice cut through the tension. “Wow… wow, wow, wow.” The sound didn’t come from Raymond, that's obvious. Rather, it came from the door. “I really like this kind of energy.” Rachael froze. Every muscle in her body locked as her head snapped toward the entrance, her breath catching painfully in her throat. The door, which she was certain had been closed and locked just moments ago, now stood slightly ajar, the hallway light spilling in. “W-Who is that?” Rachael demanded, her voice sharp but betraying the tremor beneath. Before either of them could move, the door pushed open fully and a woman walked in. Her red high heels clicked softly against the cracked floor, each step slow and confident, as if she already owned the space. She wore a fitted crimson dress that hugged her body with elegance rather

  • I Married His Enemy: Return Of The Forgotten Princess    You Used Me From The Beginning

The day after the entire scandal detonated across the nation, after her name had been dragged through mud, blood, and fire, Rachael vanished. She didn’t disappear gracefully. She obviously fled from even the police. She hid herself in a forgotten, crumbling apartment in downtown, a building so old it groaned with every shift of weight, its hallways reeking of damp concrete, stale smoke, and abandonment. The windows were small and grimy, which let in very little light but far too much noise from the outside world she was desperately trying to escape. She paced the apartment all night. Back and forth. Not caring about her bare feet slapping against cold tiles, her fingers clawing at her hair, her breath coming sharp and uneven as paranoia wrapped tighter around her chest with every passing hour. She couldn’t sit. She couldn’t lie down. Every shadow looked like a threat. Every sound from the street below, a car door slamming, drunken laughter, a distant shout, made her heart lea
