Chapter 25

"Craig, stop lecturing Eric." Elly came out of the kitchen with a dish in her hands. "What difference does it make even if you're earning more money? Remember what you told me when Dad needed $15,000 for his surgery!? He'd be dead if Eric didn't manage to come up with the money!"

Elly wiped off the tears trickling down her cheeks.

When the hospital demanded $15,000 for Blake's surgery, she thought of Craig immediately. Elly knew Eric was struggling financially, so it was impossible for him to come up with the money. However, she was utterly disappointed by Craig's response when she asked him for the money.

Craig had told her they didn't have the money because they just got a new car, and the old house back in his hometown was still under renovation. Elly knew Craig refused to lend them the money, afraid that he would never get it back.

Eric chimed in hastily. "Elly. It's all in the past now. Let's not bring it up anymore. Dad is recovering well. That's all that matters."
