SEAN

I went through all the documents that needed my attention today in order to distract myself from the fact that Alex seems more familiar with Winny than I was.

It was a job even twenty of my employees would be able to finish if I had tasked them, but I did everything alone because I was bored and didn’t want to begin thinking about something that could make me crazy.

Even after doing all that, I barely got any texts or calls from Winny all day.

I glanced at my watch, and it was a few minutes after noon. Not much time had passed, yet it seemed like a week had passed without Winny. Whenever she is not here, time goes as slowly as a snail.

Luckily, Gabriel called for a meeting. He always had the perfect timing and perfect news for times like this. I put on my coat and headed to his bar. The three of them were already camped there like they had had a meeting before I came, or before they called me. The empty bottles in front of them confirmed so.

I sat and exchanged glances with Luc

SEANOnce I was sure the girl’s heart was lying lifeless beside her dead body, I turned to Winny, but she was already passed out. At least, that’s what I hoped. Hwrbeyes were shut. No movement. When I heard her breathing, I took a long breath of relief before going closer. Her body shifted back into her human form on its own. I shifted too and looked around to see if I could find something to stop the bleeding on her neck. Unlike me, she had shifted with her clothes, and now that she shifted back, she still had her clothes on. It's a mystery I still have to uncover. I watched her shift without contact with the moon…at such a critical moment. She could have died.Seeing her right now, so beautiful, made me remember that I haven't seen her wolf most of the time. She was about my size and almost stronger, cloaked in shiny silver fur that glowed in contact with light. The electric light had bounced back off her mane like they were scared to touch her. Though I was naked, I wrapped my tor

WINNYI woke up with a heavy migraine on my left side, then opened my eyes lazily. The first thing I saw was a dim orange light. Using my palm, I shaded the light from my eyes, then realised I was tied up. My energy returned, and my eyes snapped open. I was surrounded by the smell of old, crusty soil and the fine, refreshing sound of a river nearby. This could be anywhere, but certainly but my house. My head still hurts badly. After taking a good look, I figured it was a warehouse or a slaughterhouse. Nothing good. After inspecting my surroundings, I realised I was on the ground, taped everywhere, including my mouth. Should I be frightened or laugh this out because it was funny? Whoever did this has no idea what they are doing.“Oh, Princess, you’re awake,” a familiar female voice crept into my ears. Even though I couldn’t see who it was, I would recognise that voice even in full darkness.I wanted to speak, but I couldn't. There was a silver knife that looked oddly fake, but it coul

SEANIt's been seven hours since Winny left the house, and I still can’t reach her. I called everyone I could: Winny herself, Alex, Grace, and even Lucas. Lucas was the only one who answered his phone, and he came running to my house when he heard that Winny was missing. Apparently, he still had something for her, and now is the time to put that obsession into use.“How the hell don’t you know where she went and you let her out of the house?” Lucas yelled at me.I glared at him. “Lucas. It’s either you leave or you help. If you are gonna stand there all day and yell, then you can as well go back to your house. I don't need your help.”“You know you do. I’ll go around the pack and get words out to the Territory. I’ll start a search party if I must.” I nodded, and he disappeared. I was back to thinking through a million possibilities of where she could be to not pick up her phone. She said she would be with Grace, and neither of them was picking up their damn phone. Lucas may not be up

WINNYGrace pulled me through the hallway till we took a turn and lightly walked to the front of a door. The door was open just a little bit, enough for an eye to see through. Grace turned to me, her index finger vertically on her lips to keep me quiet. We both stood there and listened to the conversations going on between Elias and Alex. They were both almost yelling, but keeping their voices down so they didn’t trigger us running to their rescue.“I did what I had to do, Elias. If you were I, you wouldn’t have done anything different,” Alex confronted.Elias fisted in the air, filled with rage but doing everything to keep it in. Veins popped from his head, and he’d turned red. He looked like he could kill anyone he sees right now, anyone except Grace, of course. He swung his leg in the air, almost kicking a shelf, but he stopped himself and paced back to the other end of the room, fingers digging into his head. I feared he might crush his own skull. He closed his eyes and counted

WINNY“I don’t understand. What do you mean by brother? Like, he is your mother’s son? You, real brother?” I asked Alex in dismay. Who could have thought? Was that even possible? He shook his head, still staring at Elias. “Come in, and don’t fucking touch anything,” Elise announced. Whatever card Grace pulled, it worked. It took a painful and tense thirty minutes for Elias to actually let Alex into his home, and Alex, on the other hand, thought it was a bad idea for both of them to be under the same roof.Grace and I insisted. Behind them, Grace and I exchanged knowing glances. We knew we were up for something interesting, a good or bad backstory, or both, and we would start with that before I go for the book. Alex stood beside the wall uneasily while Elias paced around, and Grace tried to make him settle and calm down.Since I have known Elias, I have never seen him so worked up, and since both of them already told us they were brothers, it had become our duty to find out why and w

WINNY.Grace was at home when I got to her house. She had been worried about me since Daniel was sent out of the pack. She had the feeling the spell still had little effect on me, even though they were gone.“You don’t look so happy, Winny. Tell me what happened.”I gave her a lazy look. “Nothing happened, Grace. I am just very tired, but we need to start going now. We don’t have much time on our side.”Her brows raised, then she frowned. “I didn’t know you were coming, and now that you are here, you are rushing us out? Where are we going?” She sank into the chair and fixed her eyes on me, probably trying to see through my harsh gaze. But I had put on strong armor and a simple smile; she wouldn’t be able to figure out if I was brooding or not.I pouted, forced to flop into the couch and drown myself in the whiskey on the stool next to the couch. It wasn’t planned, but it was necessary. This required a lot of strength. Even though I had convinced myself that I wanted to do this, my bod
