Dominic sent me the pictures and details of the young men who had attended the party, and I quickly sent them to Alex.

It was already getting pretty late, and I knew that I had to do something else, something like stalking a young man and threatening him into becoming my witness during the trial. Although I knew that the chances of that happening were slim, but I still had to try. Having a witness testify in court could increase our chances of winning the case.

I went to the desk area, where Dominic was busy coding and decoding away on his laptop.

“ How is it going? Any progress?” I asked.

“ Yeah, it is slow, but I've already started the retrieving process”, he said, looking up to me.

“ Okay, that's good”, I said, as if I knew what retrieving process meant. “ You said you kind of knew one of the guys, right?” I asked.

“ Yeah, I do”.

“ Okay, that's great. I need information on him. Like, where he is, where I can get him, what he had done previously, like, I'm rambl

I was still very angry and couldn't just concentrate on one thing, not until it was twelve O'clock. I carried that anger bottled up inside me and left my office, heading for the all staff meeting. “ Keep cat-walking like that and you'll be late”, Galinda said from behind me, catching up with me. “ I'm not cat-walking”, I said defensively, and amused at the same time. “ Sure, you're not. You're just placing one foot in front of the other as you walk, just like the perfect gentleman that you are”, she teased. “ Oh please, spare me that”, I rolled my eyes as we both chuckled. “ But seriously, just a pair of heels and a heavy make-up, and you will make one fabulous drag queen. I can even bet you'll win this season's Rupaul's drag race”. “ Sasha, are you saying that I'm effeminate?” That was a really serious question, because hell, I thought I wasn't, so how did contesting for and winning a drag race get into our conversation. “ You sure are, although you try to hide it v

“ Is anything the problem?” The nurse asked, looking around to check if a killer had walked in, and unfortunately, he found none. “ I'll do it myself”, I said and he looked at me with an expression that I couldn't quite read. There were times when my neck felt tight with discomfort, and this was definitely one of those times. The nurse heaved, exhaling as if he had just ran a marathon, shook his head and then said, “ sure, come and take over”. I took the rinsed towel from him and proceeded to clean Basil's weiner. It was shrinked, so shrinked than how I normally saw it before, but it was still the same. I held the head up and cleaned up and down the shaft, also making sure that I cleaned his cap profusely. I rinsed the towel again and almost screamed at how hot the water was. The nurse didn't even warn me, and he just stood there, staring at me with a smirk on his face, as if he had gotten some sort of revenge. I knew there was something about that guy. I knew it. I

We didn't speak to each other the following morning. A long drenched cold silence stretched across us as she sat in the living room and I went to the kitchen, and gosh, I hated that. This wasn't us, it never was. It was the first time we ever woke up still feeling angry at one another. I broke three large eggs into a bowl, trying to make myself some scrambled eggsa, but I paused, looking into the living room to find Sasha still staring at the television screen, and my heart broke a little. I knew too well that she'll probably starve that morning, and that was because she can't get herself to do anything whenever she's angry, meaning she probably wouldn't make herself breakfast. Now that I think about it, that must've been why she ordered last night instead of making dinner when I had just brought home fresh goods. And she likes to have a proper breakfast meal for breakfast, not burger or hotdog or donuts or anything like that, and I was pretty sure there wasn't a place where som

“ What do you mean I shouldn't have?” I asked. “ Because you can't make it happen. I know you probably said that because the reporters were trying to get a word or two out of you, but you have made such a statement when you know very well that you can't possibly go against someone as influential as the senator”, Sasha said, turning on her couch to face me perfectly. Maybe she thought that facing me very well could get her message into my thick skull. “ You think I can't make it happen? Really? You really think I can't sue the senator?” To be honest, I also didn't think that I could. I mean, I was just a lawyer, a newbie lawyer who hasn't even practiced law for more than a year, and even though I had had multiple trials and cases and had never lost any of them, I still knew that that wouldn't be the same with suing the senator for sexual assault. Where the hell was I even supposed to get the evidence from? But I had said it, I had told the reporters that I would bring him

He swallowed hard, his Adams apple hopping a little in his throat. I must've been paying too much attention, too much that I began to notice the beard bumps on his neck. Not only the beard bumps, but also the acne, the tiny hairs, his hair pore, and a tiny scar from an injury he must've sustained while shaving. My eyes wandered upwards; his beards were thin lined, looking very curly and suiting on him, an evidence that he took extra care of them. His lips were a light shade of pink, and although they looked a bit dried and cracked, they were still enticing. His nose, perfectly structured and edged, had about three strands of hair in it. The hairs would've been invincible if I had not been in so much tight proximity with him. When I finally got to his eyes, they were looking right back me, those hazel eyes, they were studying me, so intensely that I feared about what they already knew. I held my breath as we kept our eyes on each other, afraid that if I breathed, something wo

It was cringe. So cringe. Watching them as they still held their gaze, probably forgetting that I was even there watching their silly drama. What arrant nonsense? I looked closely at the guy and recognized him as one of the police officers who had been here yesterday. “ So sorry about that”, the guy said to Sasha. “ No problem, I understand”, Sasha said, her cheeks almost turning red. He turned to me, finally noticing that there was another person in the same space. “ Oh, hi, you were here yesterday, right? With Officer Gabriel?” He asked. “ Yeah”, I said, nodding and articulating his looks. No wonder Sasha couldn't tear her gaze away from him. He was stoic, with a sharp jaw line and a little spray of frinkles on his face, just right below his eyes. His hair was bedraggled, as if he hadn't washed or combed it in over a week, but even with that, he was a pure living work of art, the real definition of walking out of a painting. “ What's up?” He leaned in for a bro hu
