CHAPTER ONE.

REJECTION.

Kelvin's POV.

"What? how can my partner be an omega, like you? No way." Nina yelled as she wrinkled her nose at me in disgust and I sighed.

It was the mating festival tonight and I had just discovered that, the daughter of the Alpha's beta was my mate and of course, she didn't find it pleasant.

"I know baby, the moongoddess cannot be so cruel." The Alphas' son, Maddox said as he wrapped his hand around her waist, trying to mark his territory but I didn't give a fuck.

It was so obvious that, these two were fuck-mates, who were probably hoping to be mates. Too bad, the moongoddess slapped them in the face.

"I can't take this. He is just too disgusting Maddox and you know what is worse? He is so ugly too." Nina stomped her foot on the floor, like the brat she was.

"Exactly. So why don't you do us both a favor and reject me?" I smiled and she went silent immediately, before gasping dramatically, while Maddox glared at me.

"How dare you bastard?" She shrieked. "I should be the one saying that and not you."

"Exactly. Now kneel and apologize." Maddox commanded, puffing out his chest and obviously trying to impress Nina, who buried her head in his chest.

I tried not to roll my eyes.

Maddox had always felt the need to impress Nina, because he needed her father's support to get to the throne.

Though he was the Alpha's son, he was a bastard and the Elders were against him, which was why they had the Alpha get married last full moon and I hear now, that the current Luna is with child.

Too bad for Maddox, it seemed he would be kicked out of the royal palace soon. The only reason why he was still around, was because his wolf was strong, unlike me that had no wolf or so they all thought.

"Even if I wanted to be mated to someone, atleast it should be Alpha Lazarus and not this fool." Nina scowled and I noticed rage burning in Maddox's eyes and hid a smirk.

Everyone knows how obsessed Nina has been about Alpha Lazarus recently, the rumored unknown, tyrant of the Lycan realm. Rumors says he is as handsome as an angel while some whispers that he is an ugly as the devil, not that I give a damn though.

But Maddox here, on the other hand, isn't too pleased about Nina fancying Lazarus, it was a sign of disrespect but all he could do was to bear it, since he needed Nina's help badly.

Maddox must have noticed the grin on my face for;

"I said Kneel." he roared, his voice interrupting my thoughts as he railed forward and punched me in the stomach.

I was too slow to dodge so I coughed out blood, dropping to my knees heavily as I groaned in pain.

The fool had used almost all his strength to lend that blow and it was a miracle that I hadn't passed out now.

Beads of sweats gathered on my forehead as I stared at Nina, who looked satisfied to see me below her.

"Apologize Kelvin." She said and I narrowed my eyes at her.

"For?" 

She frowned.

"Crossing your boundaries, you bastard. You know what? You are not even worth the energy, so I, Nina Blackwood, daughter to the Beta." Nina began to list all her achievements and family titles so I zoned out.

"Reject you as my mate." She finally came to her last stop and just like that, I felt the bond break.

My heart tightened against my chest painfully. I placed my hand on it as I tried not to cry out from the agony I was feeling.

It was like a knife was being thrust into me. I breathed heavily as Nina began to laugh with Maddox.

"What a weakling! I can't believe I was paired with such. What a joke!" Nina sneered at me, before spitting on my face and turning around to leave with Maddox, whose head was standing tall, as if he mattered.

Well, he did at the moment.

I collapsed on the floor, trying to regain some energy when my phone in my pocket began to ring.

I hurriedly brought it out to see it was from my boss and took in a deep breath, before picking.

"Hello." I had barely spoken when he began to bark.

"You worthless omega. How dare you leave your duty post?" 

I furrowed my brows, confused.

"Because my shift had ended. I even did ex...."

"Don't you dare complete that sentence, you fool. Get your ass out here now or you will be sorry for the rest of your life." My boss yelled, before hanging up the phone, before I could speak.

I immediately tried to get up from the ground but the sharp pain hit me again and I tightened my expression, but still got up regardless and staggered.

In 15 minutes, I arrived at the club where I work and saw my boss giving orders. I walked up to him and when he saw me, he raised his hand and slapped me across the face, hard.

My face flung to the other side, my neck almost cracking due to the intensity of the force he used as I felt the cold, metallic taste of blood on my lips.

"You are late." He roared, pushing me hard on my chest.

I reared backwards, almost tripping to the floor but stabilized myself by placing a hand on the wall.

"Just be useful for once, Kelvin. Now go inside and carry those beers to the counter. We have important guests tonight." He ordered and I immediately dashed inside, before I got any more insults or beating.

Life has always been like this for me, since I was born and discovered to be an omega, with no wolf.

I was ignored, treated like trash and worse, turned into a punching bag for people who had frustrations. Life hasn't been rosy but I have learned to live with it.

I moved the crates of alcohol to the bartender as asked and was about to go out when the bartender grabbed me.

"Where do you think you are going, punk?" He yelled as he pushed me against the wall.

'Oh moongoddess! What have I done again?' I pondered, knowing another brute was about to release his pent-up frustration on me.

How was I supposed to survive his punches when he was so heavily built?

A shiver ran down my spine at the thought of him cracking my bones with his huge, bare hands.

"Can't you talk?" The bartender raised his fists, about to punch me when;

"If you want to live without the use of your limbs, you will let that boy go now." A deep muscular voice that made me tremble, echo in the bar, despite the loud music and my blood turned cold.
