Chapter 4

"Since you want to help me finish my experiment as an apology, I better bring out the big guns."

Lynette giggled as she had people bring over two large crates of serpents.

"These are just ordinary garden snakes. They look scary, but they're totally harmless."

I immediately recognized they weren't ordinary garden snakes at all - they were Venomous Shadow Vipers.

Deadly poisonous Venomous Shadow Vipers could even kill an Alpha.

I'd been terrified of these grotesquely shaped reptiles since childhood - I was even afraid of regular snakes that looked harmless.

I screamed hysterically, begging:

"Please, don't do this to me! Those are Venomous Shadow Vipers! They're poisonous! I'll die!"

Tyler hesitated when he heard this, asking Lynette: "Is what she's saying true?"

Lynette looked at him with hurt eyes: "Tyler, I'm your best friend. Don't you even trust me anymore?

Can't you see that Lydia's been trying to turn us against each other this whole time?"

Seeing Tyler still hesitating, Lynette said bitterly: "Tyler, did you already forget how she tried to kill me earlier? Are you really gonna choose some girl over your friends?"

When Tyler didn't respond, Lynette had them dump all the Venomous Shadow Vipers into the pool.

I witnessed the most horrifying scene of my life.

Hundreds of Venomous Shadow Vipers, plopping one by one into the water.

Their massive bodies and glowing green eyes stared at me menacingly.

Suffocation and terror made my scalp crawl.

I could only desperately try to dodge them.

The rough, slimy skin of the vipers scraped against my body.

Some slithered onto my shoulders, others onto my head.

I frantically waved my arms, trying to shake off these horrible creatures.

But there were more and more of them, swarming toward me.

My piercing screams echoed through the pool area.

But those people just watched like they were enjoying a show, amused by my struggle and despair.

"Lynette, my father is the Alpha King! When he finds out what you did to me, he'll kill you!"

I was nearly having a breakdown.

I revealed my identity.

The Alpha King.

The expressions on the faces of those who had been so arrogant froze.

Panic flickered in their eyes.

They were calculating - if I really was the Alpha King's daughter, they were definitely screwed.

But Lynette looked completely disdainful, snorting loudly: "Stop pretending! If you're the Alpha King's daughter, then I'm the Moon Goddess herself.

Lydia, the Alpha King's last name is Cross, yours is Reed. When you're gonna lie, can you at least do your homework first?

This is absolutely ridiculous."

My eyes blazed with fury. "What's wrong with taking my mother's last name?"

Tyler looked disgusted: "Lydia, I used to think you were just dramatic, but now I see you're shameless too.

How dare you impersonate the Alpha King's daughter? Is this really how far you'll go to sabotage Lynette's graduation?

How can you be so selfish? So evil?"

Me, selfish? Me, evil?

The viper venom gradually invaded my nervous system.

The numbness and suffocating sensation became increasingly obvious.

I felt like I might not see tomorrow's sunrise.

"This is hilarious. Lydia loves acting so much, why doesn't she become an actress?

Better hope the real Alpha King's daughter doesn't get mad and sue her into bankruptcy."

Lynette watched me floating on my back in the pool, Venomous Shadow Vipers covering my entire body, her eyes full of even greater mockery.

Accompanied by a thunderous roar, dozens of helicopters descended from the sky.

A tall, imposing man with a furious expression roared:

"You're all dead! How dare you do this to my daughter!"

As his words hit the ground, a group of black-clad warriors surrounded the area with military precision.
