On the night of my graduation party, just before my first shift, my boyfriend's childhood sweetheart discovered I might awaken Alpha bloodline. She tricked me into eating a layered cake laced with silver powder. I'm extremely sensitive to silver. After eating it, my chest heaved violently, my eardrums buzzed, and I gasped desperately for air with my mouth wide open. Lynette laughed like a maniac. "There's just a tiny bit of silver powder in that cake. Are you seriously overreacting like this? Who are you putting on this show for?" I collapsed on the ground like a dying dog, begging my boyfriend. "Tyler, please take me to the hospital. I'm really going to die." My boyfriend Tyler Cross looked at me coldly. "How much silver powder could possibly be in such a small piece of cake?" "Lynette's writing her graduation thesis on how Alpha bloodlines suppress silver poisoning. She just needs a little help from you. Do you really need to fake being dead?" My breathing became more and more labored. I stopped begging him. Instead, I pulled out my phone and sent an emergency message with my location to my father, the Alpha King.

Chapter 1

On the night before my first shift, I was deceived by my lover into eating cake containing a lethal dose of silver powder, all to help another she-wolf with her thesis.

My father is the most powerful Alpha King in the territory, and I'm his most beloved daughter. After receiving my message, he'll definitely come to save me at any cost.

Of course, he'll also punish everyone who harmed me!

He'll make them wish they were dead!

"Over this little thing? Do you really need to call for help? Can you stop being so dramatic?"

Under the influence of Silver, I couldn't even use mind link to contact my father, so I took out my phone to send the message.

Tyler angrily snatched my phone away. When he couldn't unlock it, he smashed it to pieces.

"You..."

Rage nearly exploded in my airways. Everything went black before my eyes, and the suffocating lack of oxygen made my face turn deathly pale.

I weakly pleaded, "Tyler, please, call an ambulance. I'm really dying here."

Tyler saw how my features twisted together in agony, and panic flashed in his eyes.

But Lynette pulled Tyler away, waving a medicinal mist in her hand. "Oh come on, it can't be that bad. Women are just so troublesome."

"I'm telling you, Tyler, why did you find such a dramatic girlfriend? Who does she think she is, some precious princess?"

Tyler looked completely impatient. "It's just helping with a small favor. Do you really need to fake being dead to scare Lynette? You think everyone's as petty as you? Lynette prepared a treatment potion for silver poisoning beforehand. You'll be fine."

I stared at Tyler with empty eyes, remembering how during our dates, Lynette always managed to appear at just the right moment.

When we went to movies, Lynette would get scared of thunder and call Tyler to comfort her, leaving me alone in the theater.

During restaurant dates, Lynette would "coincidentally" show up all dressed up, calling Tyler away for "friend gatherings."

Whenever I showed the slightest displeasure, Lynette would subtly mock me for being petty, saying they were just friends and if they wanted to be together, they would have been together long ago.

Tyler came home later and later, either playing games with his buddies or having dinner with them.

I trembled with rage, filled with grievance and anger, mixed with labored breathing.

My hands involuntarily clutched at my collar, wanting to say something, but drowning in suffocation, unable to speak.

Lynette smiled at me with contempt.

"Wow, aren't you tired of this act? Do you really love being the center of attention that much?"

"Your little tricks might fool others, but they're nowhere near good enough to fool a professional like me."

The men around us heard her words and let out mocking laughter.

"Lydia, can't you learn from Lynette and be stronger? Stop embarrassing me all the time, okay?"

Tyler stepped back in disgust.

My body convulsed uncontrollably, sweat soaking through large patches of my clothes.

A bottle of red wine poured over my head. My whole body shuddered as I coughed violently.

Lynette said with a giggle:

"My graduation thesis has a theory I want to test - whether splashing water for cooling can improve silver poisoning symptoms. But sorry, I couldn't find any water, so I had to use red wine instead!"

She even stuck out her tongue playfully after saying this.

I curled up on the ground in agony, wanting to speak, but the overwhelming wine fumes made my throat burn even more.

"Geez, Lydia, you're really scheming. Acting this serious - are you trying to make me give you the antidote early? How selfish can you be? If you don't cooperate like this, how can I continue my experiment?"

Tyler looked at my pale face and instinctively stepped forward, frowning deeply.

"Her face is so white..."
