CHAPTER 31 LIAM’S POV. I got to Freda’s workplace twenty five minutes later and called her hoping she’d pick my call immediately. After several times the phone rang, she finally picked it and I heaved a sigh of relief. I walked into the hospital at her behest and went to the second floor, trying to locate her office with the description she gave me. After what seemed like three minutes, i finally located it. I saw her seated majestically on her seat the moment I stepped foot on the floor, her face glowing bright with happiness at my arrival. She waved energetically when I made eye contact with her. “Li, you made it! Come here,” She said and I smiled lightly before taking a few strides towards her, my eyes not leaving hers. I held the file firmly till I got to the table and dropped it. So many thoughts running through my mind. “Oh, thanks so much,” She said hastily and I simply nodded. She took another glance at me before flashing me a light smile. “You look really good tod
CHAPTER 32 FREDA’S POV. It was a rainy day and I was in my room preparing for work. It was frustrating because the weather made me feel dizzy and weak. I was almost struggling not to crawl back to my bed, under my duvet and to sleep off with a couple of pillows till afternoon. My headache worsened as time passed by. I wondered what could have caused the headache, but I could barely think of anything besides the horrible pain in my head. I sighed deeply when the ringing phone disturbed the quietness of my room. It was a phone call from Vivian. I picked the call slowly but the panicked voice of Vivian made me startled for a while before I regained my composure. “Where are you Freda?” She questioned loudly but I chose not to answer her, because I didn’t want to. “What’s the matter? You really sound unlike you?” I said and sighed. “Please, be here as soon as possible! Our boss is looking for you,” She sounded really Frantic. “Mrs Smith is also looking for you, and none of us kn
CHAPTER 33LIAM’S POV I was all by myself in the house, thinking of a way I could confess my feelings to Freda. I was now sure that I love her and I wouldn’t want to inconvenience her. I could inconvenience her by spoiling our friendship just by confessing my feelings to her when I wasn’t sure that she was in her right state of mind. Darren made Freda give up on love the moment they broke up, so I couldn’t say about that moment. It’s been a while since I and Freda had a moment of our own, because she has been busy recently with her job. “What is going on?” I asked myself the moment I realized that Freda and myself hasn’t spent time for a while. I sighed and picked up my phone, expecting to see a text from her, but to my utmost disappointment, I saw nothing. It was already late and I knew that Freda would return very soon, I also knew that I needed to freshen up because I really looked messy. I stood up from my bed, heading towards the bathroom when I suddenly felt a jolt run
CHAPTER 34 FREDA’S POV. I was in my bedroom sleeping peacefully because I was given an off, just for my phone to ring loudly. I tossed around the bed and picked the phone, and opened an eye just to see Mrs Smith as the caller ID. “Hello,” She said immediately I picked the call. with sleepy eyes. The next thing I heard shocked me to the marrows. I was needed in the office! Obviously, I love working and caring for the patients, but I needed rest. I had been happy since the previous night thinking I was given a day off, just for me to be summoned to the hospital with immediate effect. I sluggishly stood from the bed, and dragged my legs into the bathroom. I entered the bathroom and stayed in the bathtub for close to 20 minutes, enjoying the way the water massaged my skin. I came out a few minutes later, wrapped in a towel as I quickly went towards my closet. It took me close to thirty minutes before I was able to settle on what I was going to wear. I settled for a white shirt
Chapter 35 FREDA’S POV I walked back to my office with different thoughts rummaging in my head. I was tired and confused. “Why was he so bothered and tried to find out much about Zack,” I kept on wondering and entered my office. I knew I wasn’t needed in the office, since I had met Kaine who wanted my presence in his office urgently but I wanted some time alone so I could think. I was wondering if I could ask Zack if he knew him, but I sighed when I remembered that he doesn’t remember his past. I was about to go out for a walk, so I could calm my nerves and relax my mind. I stood and was about to leave when my phone rang loudly. I dipped my hand into my handbag and brought out my phone, checking the caller ID and my eyes widened when I saw ‘Liam’ as the caller ID. I had not changed the name to Zack or rather still, I have not had the time to change it. I picked the call quickly and placed it on my right ear, as I walked back to my seat. “Hey,” His voice sounded lively over
CHAPTER 36ZACK’S POV. I was excited but not really excited. So the fool I have hated all along, even in my stormer state was my brother! How dare Kaine? Despite everything we’ve been through together as the only children of our late parents. I was angry and I knew my identity that moment. I wasn’t an ordinary human being, in fact I was a werewolf! Now that explains everything! The fact that I’ve been seeing my body shift into things I couldn’t decipher...the fact that I’ve always heard and seen wolves snarling at me. They all make sense now!But Kaine! It’s been long I stayed in my pack....and it seemed like the worst mistake of my life. I was in the pack when I was still a child, and I addressed the people in cabinet when the Alpha of our pack dies. I suddenly traveled abroad so I could study and avoid anything that would make people know my true identity. It’s been years I stayed abroad and I was sure and certain that nobody from my pack would recognize me, even if I pass
Chapter 37. Freda’s POV. For a while that I’ve been paying attention to Zack, I noticed that he was lost in thoughts. I know how he has been craving to deal with his brother, but I’ve always wished for him to take things easy.“Zack!” I suddenly called from the kitchen, and he turned back. “Yes,” Zack responded. “Have you managed to remember how you cooked when you had amnesia?” I asked, trying to divert his attention from his thoughts. Zack simply chuckled and nodded. “Cooking was my hobby....I cooked a lot when I stayed abroad, and I learnt new dishes,” Zack said smilingly, as I mouthed an O. “No wonder,” I muttered as I diverted my attention to the food I was preparing, but even still, my mind roamed about. I was really worried about Zack, and his thoughts that I didn’t notice when he tiptoed behind me, with the intention of scaring me. But I was quick to notice the presence of someone behind me, that I had turn quickly. “Uhmmm,” I gulped nervously, because he stood so
CHAPTER 38Zack’s POV. DINNER TIMEWe ate slowly and quietly and the only sound heard was the sounds of our spoons. I was irked with the silence, as it brought about awkwardness between us. “So tell me, how are you doing?” I asked the moment I couldn’t endure the silence again. “I’m good,” She flashed me a beautiful smile.“You’ve been acting weird since you got back from the hospital,” I said, and she quickly glanced up to look at me. “Really?” She asked, but instead, I gave her a blank expression. She herself knew she acted really weird since she got back from the hospital, but doesn’t want to acknowledge it. “Fine,” She breathed deeply, before she continued, “I’m sorry, but I was really tired when I came back, and maybe that’s why it seemed like I was acting weird,” She said slowly as I simply nodded. “So what exactly made your day more stressful?” I asked and she chuckled lightly “More patients were admitted today...so it was more stressful for me,” She said and I mouthed
