Whatever she had to say got stuck on the tip of her tongue, and she stared at me like I'd grown fifty feet all at once. She couldn't understand why I was doing this to her.

Well, this was how she treated me. I thought she would get my refusal and back off, but she stayed back and even closer to me than she did back when we were still in a situationship.

I sighed. "Honestly, you only go after the people you can't get, and once you do, you toss them away like they're trash."

"What?" Rachel froze. She then processed what I said, and her face fell. "How could you? I cherish you all the time, Leonardo. I treat you like a king. I bought you everything you wanted. I took you everywhere you wanted to go. All I did was spend some time with Jonathan. Must you go this far? You're overreacting."

I did not answer her question. Instead, I shrugged and smirked at her. "Well, I can't change the way you think. If you really want to patch things up, you can."
