TIARA'S POV

One thought wakes me up early the next morning

THE SCRIMMAGE.

I look at my phone.

6:22 am.

I quickly take a bath and quietly change into a tracksuit, I wouldn't want to wake the eerie princess.

After repacking my hair in a firmer ponytail and in less than 30 minutes, I shut the door and head out to the clinic to retrieve the first aid box and the bag containing towels and little bottles of water.

I need to be at that rink ready and on time.

The cold air hits right in the face like a huge smack. Woah!!

Not even this disappointing weather can faze me.

By the time I finally arrive at the rink, it's already 8 am.

Practice starts in 15 minutes. I find a bench close enough to the rink and set up. The early birds arrive first, and I realize as I look at each of them that I can say each of their names.

How weird. I don't think I even know them.

Then I see him.

Almost immediately, it seems as though everything freezes...or rather moves in slow motion,

TIARA'S POV I slowly blink, staring back at the white ceiling. What an unusual white ceiling. After a moment, I attempt to sit up...and then the headache comes almost immediately, forcing me to lay back down. "Gosh" I mutter, holding my head. The weird but not entirely unpleasant smell of disinfectant drifts through the air. The clinic. I'm at the clinic. I really did faint...again. I turn my head to find Luke on a chair, just watching me. "You'll be the death of me, Ti," he says before inching closer to touch my forehead. " How're you feeling?" he asks, his voice dropping to a faint whisper. "I'm fine," I say too fast. My throat feels dry. He helps me sit up. Just then Coach Hale comes in, hands folded. "You gave us a scare, Tiara. You sure you're okay?" I nod. What a lie. He looks at me and then tells Luke something about checking if I'm ready to go before exiting the room. I hear his voice in my head again and my heart starts racing like I've run 2 miles. No it c

  • I Woke Up As The Female Lead In My Favorite Novel   The Exchange

TIARA'S POV After a few minutes of racking my brain, I get up, with the scary determination to do what I was hoping not to. I walk out of the rink, each dreaded step more calculated than the last. It's settled then, I'll just have to exchange his hockey stick. It's the main reason he got injured after all. Gosh I was really hoping it wouldn't have to get to this! But I don't go to the equipment store immediately. It's still quite early and I'd hate to be see. I head down to the classrooms instead, totally unsure of what I plan to do there. I walk down the hallway, passing by classrooms half filled with similarly dressed students. I run my hand through my hair in exasperation and almost immediately heave out a tired sigh. My hair isn't in a bun, and this only means it's still in my room. I kind of need it...I wouldn't want someone to recognize me from the style of my hair. I walk out the nearest door that exits the building and head straight to the dorm area, all the

TIARA'S POV It's been two days since the eerie conversation with Elara. The last scrimmage has already been scheduled for tomorrow. I wake up with only one thought in my head. Find a way to prevent Luke from practicing. How the heck am I supposed to do that? I look around and there seems to be no sign of Elara. Did she even spend the night here? Not that it really matters at this moment anyway I leave my bed and anxiously pace the room as I weigh my options. There are only two options, either I convince him somehow, which already seems impossible. The second is to swap the instrument of his injury– his hockey gear. I decide to try the former first…the latter would have to be my last option. 30 minutes later, I walk down to the school area, after making sure I properly lock the door to my bedroom. I head straight to my locker, as though I had kept Luke in there the night before. A piece of folded paper falls out of my locker and I immediately bend dow

TIARA'S POVI don’t stop running until I’m sure Luke isn’t following me.By the time I reach the dorm hallway, my chest is tight.Dinner bells are still echoing faintly from the other block, but I don't even care for any food at this moment. I need silence. I need to think. I lean against the wall beside the door to my room and close my eyes. Why does every second around him feel like walking through a boobytrapped cave? One wrong word and everything falls apart.I've never had to be this careful in my life. "You heal before I even think about it."The words replay in my head like a broken record. I shouldn’t have said that. Stupid. So stupid.I take a deep breath, twist the doorknob, and push the door open. I swiftly put my right palm over my mouth to block the scream that almost comes out. Elara's there.Sitting cross-legged on her bed, her golden hair cascading down her neck and shoulders like some veil, scrolling through her phone like it’s the most normal thing in the world.

  • I Woke Up As The Female Lead In My Favorite Novel   Fate's Warning

TIARA'S POVThat was too close. After he saw us quarrelling and left, I ran into Celine, the head trainer for the hockey team.“Damn it, Tiara! Where have you been? Have you forgotten about practice today?” she asked as she pulled my arm and led me outside. It was only then that I even remembered the role of Elara in the book. She was the team's assistant trainer.I had been so distracted, I had even forgotten all about that. I followed her, got changed into a pair of sweatpants and a red hoodie, then I packed my hair up in a not so neat ponytail. It was a lot easier as I had read the novel so many times. I got the bottles, the towels and the first aid kit. I had to be there before the team and I was.My job is to hand out towels and ice packs, not stare at the perfect cut of his jaw line as he tackles his teammates. But still I don't look away. I take it all in. Every expression, every counter attack. Just reading about him does no justice. I don't even notice the time fly by
