I felt like I was going to run mad!

It was all too much to take. It felt like it was real! The betrayal from Adrian, the jeer from the audience, and even Kate!

“Luna! Are you okay?” Kate asked worriedly, but to me, it felt like she was worried one bit.

“Stay away from me!” I yelled at her and violently shoved her away.

With tears streaming down my face, I scrambled to my feet and ran down the aisle.

I tripped on my wedding dress and fell face-first on the floor.

The whole audience erupted with laughter.

 “Serves you right bitch!”

 “She's so pathetic!”

“What makes her think she's of Adrian's level?”

 “Oh, I just love this!”

 "Nobody loves me!"

Their voices became so loud in my ear that I covered my ears with my hands. “Stop!” I yelled, “Please stop! Please! I beg of you! Stop!”

The laughter and mocking grew louder each second.

Kate got to her feet and ran towards me, “Luna…”

“I SAID STAY THE FUCK AWAY FROM ME!” I yelled at the top of my lungs and got to my feet.

I tore the wedding dress and ran out of the church. Once out of the church, I didn't stop running, I kept running. Aimlessly.

I ran and ran and ran.

Those tears finally found its way out of my eyes. It streamed like a waterfall.

I just couldn't stop. It was… all overwhelming!

What's the point of living? Given up at birth, hated by everyone, ditched on my wedding day… what's the point of living?!

Why don't I just end it all?!!

I ran to the bridge and was ready to throw myself in the river. My whole life is so pathetic!

“I hope you're not trying to jump into that river because if you are, I'm sorry, it won't be happening under my watch.” A masculine voice said and I turned to look at him.

There was a man standing not far from where I stood; he was tall, broad-shouldered, and a hell of a hot dude! He had those hypnotic blue eyes that seemed to stare through me, and his raven dark hair was glistening under the sun. It looked like he was just coming back from a morning jog, and I could practically see his sexy six-packed abs and chest under his sweat-soaked shirt. Damn! He's so hot!

 Hold on a frickin second!

I don't remember this scene happening. I mean… yeah, Luna didn't drown herself in the river, she reconsidered about jumping into the river and then went back home and began making people miserable.

When she was standing at this bridge, there was no one crossing, nor tried to stop her.

But why the hell is there a dude here? And a hot one at that!

Did I miss this part… or is the scene changing?

“Uh… no. I'm not trying to jump.” I answered a little awkwardly. “Why would you think that?” I asked, “I mean, life is too short already, why would I try to kill myself?”

“Well, for a start, you are looking like you just cried.” He answered in his rich charming voice, “And you're wearing a ripped wedding dress. So I'm guessing it's either you were ditched on the altar or you're just crazy.”

I flushed in embarrassment despite myself. I tried to say something but I didn't know what to say.

What can I say? I don't remember this scene!

“Okay, I'm taking you home whether you like it or not.” He declared and for some unexplainable reason, I didn't try to protest.

 I just nodded.

“Where do you live?” He asked.

Hold on another second. Where does Luna live? I mean, I know she lived in an apartment with Kate for three years, but most authors don't include addresses in their stories for fucks sake!

Why do they even do that?

Now how do I tell this man that I don't know where I live? It would be weird!

“I don't know!” There, I said it! Whatever happens happens! If he thinks I'm crazy then so be it!

He stared at me like I was crazy, “What do you mean you don't know where you live? How can you not know where you live?”

“Uh…” I stumbled for words, “You see, I'm diagnosed with partial amnesia.”

 “Huh?”

“Sometimes I don't remember some things,” I said, hoping he would believe it.

“What do you mean partial amnesia?” He asked confused, “I've never heard of that before.”

 “It's a rare sickness.”

“Oookay,” From the way he said it, I could tell he didn't believe a single shit I just spat. “But I can't leave you like this. I have to take you to the police station, I think you are suicidal.”

 “What? I'm not suicidal!”

“Luna!” I heard Kate's voice call, and the man and I snapped our heads towards the road.

Kate opened the cab door and ran towards me, “Oh, Luna, you scared me?” She embraced me and began to cry. “I was so scared. I thought something must have happened to you.” She disentangled from the hug and wiped her tears with the back of her hand. “I'm so sorry Adrian ditched you on your wedding day…”

“Guess I was right after all.” The man's voice said and Kate turned to look at him.

“Oh! Didn't see you there.” She said glancing at the man, “Who are you?”

“Someone you need not worry about.” He answered, “Since you're here, I suppose you won't let her jump down that river. I gotta go. See ya Crybaby… and please, don't try to drown yourself again.”

And then with that, he jogged off.

Kate and I stood staring behind him. I didn't even get his name.

“Come on, let's go home,” Kate said sympathetically and showed me into the cab which drove us off.

 But I was worried.

This wasn't how things were to be. In the original scene, Luna didn't meet any man like I said and Kate didn't come looking for her.

I mean she was worried, yes, but she didn't know where to look for her. She just stood in front of their apartment building till Luna returned home after some reconsideration on drowning herself.

Why did the scene change? And who was that man? I didn't even get his name. As far as I read, he wasn't mentioned in the novel.

I still had no answers to that.

We reached the apartment, and the cab halted.

“Are you okay?” Kate asked worriedly.

I nodded. “I just need some rest.”

“Course you do,” she said and then we got off the cab and took the elevator upstairs to our apartment.

The original scenes began to take place again. In the original scene, Luna cried and slept off once they got into their apartment with Kate by her side.

Once in the apartment, I cried and slept off, with Kate by my side.

The Next Day “Are you sure you're not gonna go?” Kate asked for the umpteenth time, jerking my arm. “No,” I replied firmly, pulling my attention back to the book I was reading. Hilarious. Reading a book inside a book! Who knows? I might end up transmigrating into this one! “Come on. Why would you not want to visit the kids you grew up with? They're your friends.” Kate asked. She's asking me to go to my class reunion. In the novel, Luna attends the class reunion but ends up causing trouble. A very big one. She let her sadism take over her. Luna wasn't only hated by the staff of the orphanage, but her fellow orphans discriminated against her. And as if that weren't enough, she was bullied at school with the nickname “Weirdo.”. She had no friends… no one. She just bore it all in silence. Until after the wedding, she snapped. The girl never had it easy. That's why I empathized with her despite being the villain. Maybe that's why she abandoned this role… because the author was to

And indeed, it was a long night.Throughout the meal, I noticed Lucas stealing glances at Chris and me. He was quiet, as usual, but his mere presence was unsettling. As the old slobs talked business, the three of us kept our mouths shut.I thanked the stars when the meal was finally over.I got to my feet, “I'll take my leave, Mr and Mrs Barnes. Everyone, thanks for the meal.”“You're not staying for dessert?” Mrs Barnes queried, looking up at me.“No, I'm afraid not.” I declined politely.“Such a shame.” She lamented, “I was hoping we could get to spend some time together.”“Maybe she'll come over when she gets the time,” Chris added, giving me a sly smile.“Yes, come over next time.”“It was really nice meeting you,” I said, feeling uncomfortable with the way they were all staring at me, including Lucas. “I will.”“Let me take you home.” Chris got to his feet and put his hand on my waist. I saw Lucas's jaw tighten a bit, but I might have been mistaken.Together, Chris and I left the

Chris and I stepped out of the room and headed down the majestic stairs, with Clyde trailing behind us.I felt my heartbeat palpitate as we stepped into the grand hall. When Chris said guests, I didn't expect that there would be dozens of them! No one needed to tell me that they were all business partners of the Barnes family. Rich annoying slobs! All eyes were pointed at me from every corner of the magnificent dining room, piercing into my fragile soul and I felt self-conscious and hurriedly averted my gaze to the floor.“Hi everyone.” Chris greeted “Mom, Dad, this is my girlfriend, the one I've been telling you about, Luna.”“Hello.” I managed to say but my voice didn't sound like mine. “It's an honor to be amidst all of you.”“Hello, Luna.” All of them chorused.“Please, take a seat, dear.” A woman whom I recognized from the description of the novel as Mrs Barnes urged me.“Thank you.”Chris and I moved to the table and took our seats.“Aw, she's so pretty.” One of them complimente

The car was silent as we drove down the road.Every once in a while, Christopher turned to me to see how I was holding up.I still can't believe what the hell just happened. My arms and elbows still hurt like hell and I found myself still trembling from the shock of the gruesome incident. What if those men had turned something extremely unthinkable to me? What would have become of me? Will I die? Or return back to my world? I shuddered at the thought.Christopher didn't bother me with more questions after I refused to give him an answer.Somehow I felt safe around him. Was it because he was one of the male leads?“You still aren't gonna talk to me?” He asked out of the blue, turning his gaze towards me, “What happened?
