Dangerous Approach

Claire couldn't comprehend Lennox's sudden actions. She had just had a barbecue dinner with her best friend Emma, and suddenly Lennox appeared and took her away. It was completely unreasonable!

"Who is she?" Lennox asked coldly, completely ignoring Claire's anger.

Claire pouted, forcing herself to meet Lennox's icy gaze. How could he disregard her rights and treat her like some kind of hostage?

"You'll regret not telling me," Lennox leaned in towards Claire's upper body, emitting a dangerous aura.

Claire felt a chill down her spine and instinctively stepped back from the car door. Lennox's overwhelming presence was too strong. Under his intimidating expression, Claire involuntarily said, "Emma, she's been my good friend since childhood."

Lennox didn't stop approaching Claire. Even though she answered the question, he still trapped her between the car door and himself.

"Does Emma know you like Chrispin?" Lennox stared at Claire intently, his tone cold and mysterious, his intentions unclear.

Claire was shocked, and her eyelashes visibly trembled. She turned her face away in silence, afraid to meet Lennox's eyes. "What nonsense are you talking about? I don't like Chrispin."

She thought Lennox might have overheard something Emma said earlier. After all, Emma's voice wasn't exactly quiet.

Claire's evasive behavior made Lennox's gaze instantly deepen into an abyss, so dark that one couldn't see the bottom.

Lennox coldly stared at Claire's delicate neck. Under the streetlight, he could clearly see the ambiguous traces he left last night.

"Don't you remember what happened last night?" Lennox pinched Claire's chin, forcing her to look at him.

Beneath him, she had called out another man's name. Yet she seemed to have completely forgotten.

Lennox's warm breath sprayed onto Claire's face. Looking into his unfathomably dark eyes, Claire felt like she had fallen into hell, her small frame trembling uncontrollably.

Regarding the events of last night, the only thing Claire vividly remembered was Lennox's stern face and the various intense moments they shared. As for what she said or he said, she couldn't recall it clearly.

Could it be that Lennox was holding onto Chrispin because she said something she shouldn't have said last night? It couldn't be possible, could it? How could it be!

Claire unconsciously shook her head, unable to face the terrifying reality.

Seeing Claire visibly frightened, Lennox slowly retreated to his seat, no longer speaking. However, his eyes locked coldly onto Claire, and nobody could guess what he was thinking.

A few minutes later, Claire recovered from the palpitations she induced in herself. She lowered her eyelids, sitting quietly beside Lennox.

She chewed her gum vigorously, using it as an outlet to vent her emotions as if Lennox were the one being bitten, relieving her pent-up frustration.

Claire's mind was in disarray. Originally, she had come out to eat barbecue and drink to clear her thoughts, but Lennox's appearance had only made things more confusing.

Just thinking about what happened between her and the man next to her last night, Claire wanted to find a hole to hide in.

Upon reaching the Empire Hotel, under Lennox's threatening and assertive attitude, the powerless Claire was forcibly taken to the presidential suite.

Lennox directly dragged her into the bathroom, pressed her against the sink, and ordered, "Brush your teeth!"

Claire glared at Lennox in the mirror, gritting her teeth and standing still. Her gaze shot at him like arrows; how could he command her like this!

"If you glare at me again, I'll gouge your eyeballs out," Lennox stared at Claire through the mirror, seemingly angrier than her. "If you don't brush your teeth, I'll take your life!"

Claire clenched the hand hanging by her side. As she watched Lennox turn and leave the bathroom, she gritted her teeth, unable to vent her frustration. All she could do was glare at her reflection in the mirror and mutter, "Claire, pull yourself together!"

However, the next moment, she once again yielded to Lennox's authority. Spitting out the gum, she obediently began brushing her teeth. Once she escaped Lennox's control, she was determined he wouldn't be able to threaten her!

Claire emerged with a fresh breath, seeing Lennox sitting on the black leather sofa with his long legs crossed, fingers holding a cigar, unlit.

"Come here," Lennox lifted his eyes, his tone icy.

Claire nervously twisted her hands, hesitated for a few seconds, then silently walked over.

"About last night..." Lennox, exuding dominance even in his elegant posture, coldly looked down at the somewhat uneasy Claire.

"I don't remember anything," Claire abruptly lifted her head, interrupting Lennox before he could finish speaking.

Couldn't Lennox just act as if nothing had happened?

"I really don't want to recall anything from last night," Claire said.

"Don't remember?" Lennox dangerously squinted his eyes. Although his tone remained unchanged, Claire felt a chilling sensation creeping up her spine.

No matter how hard Claire racked her brains, she couldn't fathom what Lennox was scheming. She dared not meet his gaze and could only muster the courage to say, "I-I don't remember."

If losing her innocence last night was inevitable, she would rather it had been the stranger who pulled her into the elevator, not Lennox. Their relationship was too complicated; she couldn't bear it.

"Well, let me help you remember what you did last night," Lennox sneered and suddenly stood up.

"D-Don't come any closer." Despite the three-meter distance, Claire reflexively took a step back.

"I just want to help you recall the good things you did, not mess around," Lennox said sternly, with a cold face.

"Don't come over!" Seeing Lennox approaching step by step, Claire kept retreating.

It was her lack of clear-headedness that caused the chaos last night. She wanted no further entanglements with Lennox.

"Are you afraid of me?" Lennox took off his black suit jacket and casually threw it on the sofa.

"Who said I'm afraid!" Although Claire's heart was trembling with fear, she still insisted, "I'm not afraid at all!"

Just Lennox's stern face alone would probably be intolerable for an ordinary person.

"If you're not afraid, why are you stepping back?" Lennox strode towards her.

His imposing aura, even without anger, forced Claire to retreat.

"I-I'm not stepping back!" Under immense pressure, Claire forcefully halted her steps, standing stiffly by the edge of the sofa.

"Stay strong; in times like these, showing any sign of weakness can be a downfall from which you may never recover."

Claire clenched her heart, hoping to assert some authority for herself. However, she failed to realize that ever since being seized and thrown into the car, she had consistently been at a disadvantage, seemingly not far from the fate of being completely consumed by Lennox.

Having just brushed her teeth, Claire's lips were rosy and moist. Coupled with her slightly trembling lack of confidence, her cherry-like lips were intoxicating. As Lennox looked at her, appearing both frightened and tenaciously resilient, he subtly pursed his lips, struggling to control his own body.

After savoring the beauty of her last night, today the enticing and alluring image of her kept replaying in his mind. Accustomed to restraint, he, for the first time, felt the discomfort of controlling desire.

More importantly, after last night, he realized that continual restraint might not be a good thing; indulging occasionally seemed rather pleasant.

As Lennox approached, Claire felt his gaze becoming more dangerous. Before she could formulate a response, Lennox suddenly reached out, grabbing her shoulder. His robust body leaned in abruptly, and Claire found herself pressed onto the sofa.
