The desire-filled bathroom

"Claire was completely absorbed in the pregnancy test result, almost unaware of how close she was to Lennox. Seeing only one red line on the test, Claire let out a sigh of relief—just one line meant she wasn't pregnant. Thank goodness, she wasn't pregnant.

Lennox, too, breathed a sigh of relief at the result. But before he could fully exhale, he noticed Claire furrowing her brow, looking oddly pleased. His expression darkened.

"Weren't you on birth control that night? Why are you testing now—did you sleep with another man after that night? Is jumping into bed with men your favorite pastime?"

Lennox shook off Claire's hand gripping his wrist, tossing the pregnancy test aside where only one red line was visible. The mere thought of Claire possibly being with another man sent his eyes dangerously black, teetering on the edge of a storm.
