❤️Sophie❤️

We spend the rest of the morning in the garden. Adrian has a small outdoor seating area beneath the shade of a flowering tree, and although I’ve walked past it countless times, I’ve never actually sat there with him for more than a few minutes.

Today, he brings out a book, I bring mine, and we settle beside each other with no particular plan beyond enjoying the weather.

At first, I try to read. I genuinely do. But after a few pages, I find myself watching Adrian instead.

He h

☠️Adrian☠️Felix Harrison is beginning to run out of people willing to stand beside him. I know this before I enter the boardroom. The silence that follows my arrival tells me enough. Six men sit around the long table, each with a folder in front of him. Two of them avoid my eyes. Another gives me a polite greeting that sounds more like an apology. They were all present when Felix believed he could negotiate his way out of the situation. Now, none of them seems particularly interested in defending him.I take my seat at the head of the table. “Let’s begin.”Ronan opens the meeting with the latest figures. The acquisition of the remaining shares has moved faster than anticipated, and the revised voting structure is now in place. The paperwork is clean. Every transaction has been completed through the appropriate entities, and every decision has been documented. There is nothing for Felix to challenge without exposing how little control he has left. One of the directors clears his throa

☠️Adrian☠️ I look at the screen when she holds it out. *I’ve spoken to my doctor. I want to establish paternity, but I need time to understand the process and make sure everything is done properly. I’ll let you know when I’m ready to discuss the next step* It’s a careful message. It gives him an answer without promising him anything beyond what she is prepared to consider. “That’s fair,” I say. She watches my face. “You don’t mind?” “I don’t have to like every decision you make to respect it.” Her shoulders relax a little. “He replied.” I look at her. “He said he understands and that he’ll wait until I contact him.” I hand the phone back. “Then there’s nothing else to discuss today.” She puts it on the bedside table and turns towards me. “Adrian?” “Hm?” “Are you sure you’re okay?” I look at her for a long moment. She isn’t asking about the appointment or Sebastian’s message. She is asking about me. I could tell her the truth. I could explain that the thought

☠️Adrian☠️By the time we return home, Sophie has already read Sebastian’s message three more times. She hasn’t replied. I know because every time I glance in her direction, her phone is in her hand, and her thumb hovers over the screen before she eventually locks it. She is trying to decide what to say without making it sound like an invitation or a rejection.I understand the hesitation. What I don’t understand is why a man I’ve met only once has managed to occupy so much space in my home without even stepping through the front door. The thought irritates me. I pull into the driveway and switch off the engine. A maid approaches the car as we get out, offering to take Sophie’s handbag. Sophie thanks her and turns towards me.“Are you going to your office?”“Not immediately.”She studies me. “You have work.”“I do.”“Then you should go.”I give her a look. “Are you dismissing me?”“No.” She smiles, though there’s a little uncertainty behind it. “I’m saying you don’t have to stay home

❤️Sophie❤️I wake up to the feeling of Adrian’s hand resting against my waist. For a moment, I stay still, enjoying the warmth of him behind me. His breathing is slow, his chest rising steadily against my back. There is something comforting about waking up beside him, something I have grown so used to that I barely remember what my mornings felt like before he became part of them. Then I remember Sebastian. Not the café. Not the questions. Not even the way Adrian looked when he told me about their meeting.I remember what Sebastian wants. He wants to know his child. I shift carefully, and Adrian’s hand tightens around my waist.“Where are you going?” His voice is rough with sleep.“Nowhere. I’m awake.”“That wasn’t what I asked.”A small smile touches my mouth. “I was going to get up.”“Why?”“Because people usually get out of bed in the morning.”“Not people who are comfortable where they are.”I turn my head enough to see him. His eyes are still closed, but there’s a faint curve at

  • I ordered a baby daddy, not a crazy billionaire.    Chapter 149

☠️Adrian☠️ The moment Sophie falls asleep, I retrieve my phone from the bedside table. Her message to Sebastian is still on the screen. She has agreed to meet him, and I’ve already made it clear that I have no intention of avoiding the conversation. I open my messages and call Nikolai. He answers after a few rings. “Adrian.” “What have you found out about Sebastian Cole?” “We’ve confirmed that he hasn’t filed anything or initiated any legal proceedings. He consulted a family-law specialist, but so far, that’s all.” “And his background?” “Twenty-six. Works in private investment. He’s been in the industry for a few years, mostly handling private portfolios and smaller investment partnerships. No criminal record, no questionable business associations that we’ve been able to establish. His financial position is comfortable, but he’s nowhere near your level.” I glance at the ceiling. “Family?” “Not much information worth mentioning. His parents are deceased. He doesn’t appear to h

  • I ordered a baby daddy, not a crazy billionaire.    Chapter 148

❤️Sophie❤️The message arrives while I’m choosing between two baby blankets.I’ve been sitting in the nursery for almost half an hour, surrounded by little clothes, folded towels, and the collection of things Adrian insists we don’t need yet. The room is beginning to look less like a space and more like somewhere a baby might actually live. There’s a white crib near the window, a comfortable nursing chair in the corner, and a little wooden shelf Adrian had installed after I complained that I had nowhere to put the growing collection of children’s books.I hold up two blankets, one cream and the other pale blue, trying to decide which looks better against the white crib.My phone vibrates beside me. I glance at it, expecting a message from Sandy. Instead, I see Sebastian’s name.I lower the blankets into my lap. For a moment, I simply stare at the screen. Our last conversation ended with me promising to think about what he said. I haven’t called him since, partly because I’ve been bus
