I was shocked, to say the least. So because of this thing called a "mate", my mom got left heart broken and alone with me?

"It turns out that that very same day I went to your mother, she was coming to me to tell me about you. She never got the chance to because I went first to tell her about everything that was going on. I'm not gonna lie, I can understand why she didn't tell me, but at the same time, I really wish she did. I've missed out on 12 whole years of your life because she didn't say anything."

He was frowning as if he were angry about the situation. I'm a little upset about the revelation as well, but he has no room to be angry with her.

"I don't blame her at all. You just got finished telling me that you told her just moments before that for your entire relationship with her, you had been lying about who you are. Then told her you found your soulmate and that you're basically a king that needs to watch over his people and told her you couldn't decide who you loved more. If that was me, I wouldn't have said anything either. So you really don't have a leg to stand on."

He stared at me baffled by my words. I shrugged.

"Too blunt?"

He scoffed and chuckled.

"Yeaaaa. You're definitely Minnie's daughter."

We sat in silence for awhile.

"Look. To be honest, I'm not sure what's gonna happen here, but what I do know is that I don't want to be hurt. I'm not here to start or cause trouble. If you plan on not sticking around, just drop me off back home. My aunt is more than capable of taking care of me. We can pretend none of this even happened and go about our lives as strangers. Besides, you said it yourself, I don't even have a wolf. So there's no need for me to be here."

He looked at me confused.

"What are you talking about? You're my daughter. I wouldn't leave-"

"I'm sure you've said those same words to my mother and we both know what happened. You left. I can't bare losing another parent, so if you don't plan on being one to me, just let me go. I... I can't handle that right now."

Tears poured down my face again, hot and burning. My eyes never leaving his, so he knew I meant every word. I can't even imagine having another parent or anyone other than my mom. I don't know if anyone could ever know and love me the way she did. But what scares me the most is the idea that he doesn't even wanna be my dad. He didn't even try to fight for mom. Why would he fight for me? I couldn't bare the thought. He grabbed my hand into his two massive ones and kept a steady heated gaze fixed on me.

"Kwenali Emerie Moore. Though you do not have my last name, you are mine. I will not ever let you go. You are not going anywhere, lest without me. I have missed 12 years of your short, young life and I am so sorry that I did. But I'm here now. Let me be here for you now. Please allow me to be the father I wasn't able to be. I wasn't there for the first half of your life. Let me be there for the rest."

I seen and felt the sincerity in his words and with it, my dam broke. I sobbed. My dad finally wrapped me up in his arms, sat me on his lap and let me cry. I have no idea how long I cried for. Once I was finally calm, I tried to get off his lap but he held me hostage in his arms. I looked up at him confused but he just smiled at me. I let it go and snuggled in further. I was still wearing my mom's hoodie that held her scent. It felt as if I was being comforted by both my parents... a dream that will never have a reality. But I'll enjoy this substitute, for now. That's when the man named Dr. Mason comes back into my room. He's handsome too, but a lot leaner than my dad is but just as tall. He has long red hair pulled into a low ponytail drapped over his shoulder. He wore a white lab coat with a stethoscope around his neck. He wore a kind smile and seemed a bit older than my dad. I, again tried to get off my dad's lap but he wasn't having it.

"You can sit here while he asks you some questions."

I looked up at my dad then over to the doctor. He smiled.

"Yes. You may stay where you are. May I know the name of this beautiful little girl."

I blushed and smiled at him. He had a calming aura as well, and he smelled of jasmine and fresh water. I liked being around him.

"My name is Kwenali but call me Kwen."

His smile widened.

"It's a pleasure to meet you. I'm Dr. Mason and your father here wanted me to check in on you. You were asleep for a long time and it worried him. Are you ok?"

I nodded my head.

"Yes. I'm ok now. I haven't been able to get much sleep because I was looking after my mama. But now she gone. I was also crying alot, so I was probably just mentally and emotionally exhausted."

Both Dr. Mason and my dad looked at me like I said something crazy.

"You are quite smart I see. I wouldn't have expected you to say that to me."

I smiled brightly.

"I'm very smart. I'm going to college soon."

"Oh really? Well you do have a few more years before that."

I frowned and shook my head.

"No, I don't. I start this fall. We'll, actually I don't know how I'll do that since I'm so far away from home."

I just realized that I'm nowhere near the university I picked to go to school. A few universities wanted me in their medical programs because my entrance exams were top ranked. Now I don't even know if I'll be able to go to my first pick. Once I came out of my thoughts, I noticed the doc and my dad staring at me.

"What?"

"Umm. Are you serious about going to college in the fall. You're 12?"

My dad questioned looking skeptical.

"Yeah I'm serious. I graduated high-school right before mommy passed away. She couldn't see me walk in person, but auntie set her up with a laptop, and she recorded the whole thing so Mommy could see it. Before that, I took about 5 different entrance exams for college so I could go to med school. I want to become a doctor so I never have to watch a person I love fade away like that ever again... or anyone for that matter. All 5 schools accepted me, but I chose my favorite. I'm supposed to be starting in late August."

They both were silent. The doctor began to chuckle lightly.

"Well, well alpha. It seems your daughter is highly intelligent. I would've never saw this coming."

My dad looked at me in surprise and then slowly smiled, carrasing my check with his finger.

"It seems my daughter is a little genius. Congratulations, little one. I'm very proud of you."

I smiled back at him.

"Thank you."

We stared at each other for a little while longer.

"I have my diploma and my acceptance letters here with me if you want to verify it. But we can also call my aunt later and let her know. Maybe she'll know how to deal with the school thing."

My dad nodded.

"Ok. Well talk about that later."

"Um, Kwen?"

I turned to meet the doctor's gaze.

"Can you tell me how your hair became silver?"

I shrugged.

"I grayed early?"

I snickered at my own joke and Dr. Mason smiled.

"When did it change colors?"

I frowned at him confused by his question.

"What do you mean by changed colors. I was born with Silver hair."

His eyes nearly popped outta of his head and I felt my father's hands tighten around me.

What's the problem? It's just gray hair. Everyone's hair will turn this color when they get older. I just so happened to skip a couple of steps.

"I-I see. Do you have any baby pictures of you that I can see later. Right now, I'm gonna give you a small check-up, ok?"

I nodded my head and allowed the check up to happened. We talked all through the examine and by the end of it, I was tired all over again. The doc and my dad both left me alone to sleep, and once again, I was off into dream land.

  • I was never Human   Too much for you

My son and I were returning home, back to our pack. Blackbloods Pack is considered one of the strongest packs on this continent. I rule over my dominion with an iron fist. If you show weakness, many will see you as weak. I never thought I would ever seek anyone else out after my mate passed away, giving birth to my son. That's not to say I don't have my way with the she-wolves here. I do, but it's to fulfill my needs. I was actually glad she passed. I didn't want her to be used as leverage against me or to make me weak. Her dying was a blessing in disguise. I could do and move freely without guilt. I wasn't looking for Kwen when I came across her. Nothing slips through my fingers, yet she did. She went unnoticed for years. When she walked into the office that day, I thought I was to be greeted by an insignificant being. I was wrong. Though she smelled human, she held her father's gene of authority. A true alpha's daughter, unlike that weak thing, Sierra. I immediately knew Luna Lisa h

  • I was never Human   I will never be your alpha

I almost forgot this girl even existed. I sat there and took a couple of breaths."I swear, why does she always pop up where she's not wanted?"Kera said out loud. Sierra frowned."Nobody asked for your opinion. I was talking to my daddy!!"My neck snapped towards Kera, and she looked like she'd been slapped. I looked back at Sierra."You may wanna cool it. Kera is not the one to mess with, and neither am I. I haven't done a thing to your mama... yet. But best believe it's still in the works. I'd advise you to tread lightly."I said. Her frown deepened."I DON'T HAVE TO DO ANYTHING!! WHERE IS MY MOM? I KNOW YOU'VE DONE SOMETHING TO HER!!"I was already sick of her yelling."Look, Sierra. I haven't done a thing to your mother. But she has done plenty to many of us, including our father. Instead of being angry with me, you should be mad at her. She's in the position she's in, right now, because of her. And I can almost guarantee Ava played a major part in this, as well. So you have two

  • I was never Human   Where I belong

I started hearing noise around me as I tried to sleep.'Kwen. Wake up. Our mate, Psy's mate and our brother are here.''You've got to be kidding me right now? Halo, tell them to leave.'She chuckled.'I can't.'I groaned inwardly. I focused on the noises in the room. My brain was still trying to wake up, so what was being said was incoherent to me, but it was still pissing me off."If y'all are using my room for a place of communion, I will murder each one of you."I said out loud, cutting into their conversation. I slowly opened my eyes to see exactly who Halo said was here. My eyes quickly found Cersai's, and he gazed at me in want. It took my breath away. I quickly diverted my eyes and stretched. I felt something on me and jumped, forgetting Psy was laying in bed with me. I looked down, and she was still sound asleep. I swear this girl would sleep through an apocalypse."I tried waking you by knocking, but neither of you was of this world."Danny said, smirking, flicking my forehea

  • I was never Human   The View

I didn't get much sleep. It was already early morning, when I finally got to my room, after my run-in with Kwen and Sebastian. I felt like a jackass. It seems that lately, I haven't been able to do anything right by Kwen. The more I try to fix things, the worse they become. It was about 10 am when I finally quit trying to sleep. I couldn't get her off my mind. The way she looked at me, now, read hurt and disappointment. The words she spoke is what really has me bothered. She wanted Sebastian yesterday, and the only reason he didn't get to have her is because he denied her. It made my blood boil with the thought of him having her in any capacity, and Reign roared out in disgust.'SHE WILL NEVER BE HIS!! SHE IS MINE! I TOLD YOU WE SHOULD HAVE ACCEPT HER. NOW SHE'S OUT LOOKING AT OTHET MALES!!'My head pounded with a headache. Ever since the small conversation I had with Sebastian a few hours ago, Reign has been on end.Flashback: a few hours ago...We both stood there and watched Kwen d

  • I was never Human   Tell me everything!

I hopped into another quick shower and threw on some short shorts and a long t-shirt. I braided my hair into two big braids, then laid back on my bed. As soon as my back hit the bed, a knock was heard at my door. I knew exactly who it was. I got up and opened the door to see Psy standing there."Talk. I'm gonna hop in your shower, and I'm stealing one of your shirts. Go."She said as she stepped passed me, taking off her dress from the ball and stripping to get in the shower. She grabbed one of my claws and clamped her hair up."You will not believe what just happened, Psy.""Does it involve a certain prince?"Psy asked, walking into the bathroom. I walked over to my drawer and pulled out a long black shirt for her to wear after she got out. "Yes, but I mean before that."She stopped in her tracks and looked back at me."Before that?"She said as she stepped into the hot shower. I pulled out a wash cloth and a towel for her and walked it over. She held out her hand from the shower, g

  • I was never Human   Perspective

I left the conference room to go check up on Angel and Logan. I wanted to make sure she was safe and that Logan hadn't completely lost his mind due to worry. I made it to the room to find Logan in bed with Angel wrapped in his arms. She was fine but was left here for observation. This felt like deja vu. The moment Kwen got here, she ended up in a hospital bed. Now, Angel is following in her footsteps. I opened the door, and Logan was immediately on high alert. I waved at him, and he relaxed back into Angel. I walked over to him and kissed his cheek, and he gave me a small smile."How's our girl?"He looked down at Angel, who was nestled into his chest."She's doing alright. How's Kwen? Daniel opened up his link to me, and I heard everything that was said. I know she's probably stressed out right now, especially with Angel being here."I sighed and sat in the chair closet to him."Yeah. I'm gonna go talk to her soon. She has a lot on her mind, and I wanted to give her some space.""Yea
