"It turns out that that very same day I went to your mother, she was coming to me to tell me about you. She never got the chance to because I went first to tell her about everything that was going on. I'm not gonna lie, I can understand why she didn't tell me, but at the same time, I really wish she did. I've missed out on 12 whole years of your life because she didn't say anything." He was frowning as if he were angry about the situation. I'm a little upset about the revelation as well, but he has no room to be angry with her. "I don't blame her at all. You just got finished telling me that you told her just moments before that for your entire relationship with her, you had been lying about who you are. Then told her you found your soulmate and that you're basically a king that needs to watch over his people and told her you couldn't decide who you loved more. If that was me, I wouldn't have said anything either. So you really don't have a leg to stand on." He stared at me baffled by my words. I shrugged. "Too blunt?" He scoffed and chuckled. "Yeaaaa. You're definitely Minnie's daughter." We sat in silence for awhile. "Look. To be honest, I'm not sure what's gonna happen here, but what I do know is that I don't want to be hurt. I'm not here to start or cause trouble. If you plan on not sticking around, just drop me off back home. My aunt is more than capable of taking care of me. We can pretend none of this even happened and go about our lives as strangers. Besides, you said it yourself, I don't even have a wolf. So there's no need for me to be here." He looked at me confused. "What are you talking about? You're my daughter. I wouldn't leave-" "I'm sure you've said those same words to my mother and we both know what happened. You left. I can't bare losing another parent, so if you don't plan on being one to me, just let me go. I... I can't handle that right now." Tears poured down my face again, hot and burning. My eyes never leaving his, so he knew I meant every word. I can't even imagine having another parent or anyone other than my mom. I don't know if anyone could ever know and love me the way she did. But what scares me the most is the idea that he doesn't even wanna be my dad. He didn't even try to fight for mom. Why would he fight for me? I couldn't bare the thought. He grabbed my hand into his two massive ones and kept a steady heated gaze fixed on me. "Kwenali Emerie Moore. Though you do not have my last name, you are mine. I will not ever let you go. You are not going anywhere, lest without me. I have missed 12 years of your short, young life and I am so sorry that I did. But I'm here now. Let me be here for you now. Please allow me to be the father I wasn't able to be. I wasn't there for the first half of your life. Let me be there for the rest." I seen and felt the sincerity in his words and with it, my dam broke. I sobbed. My dad finally wrapped me up in his arms, sat me on his lap and let me cry. I have no idea how long I cried for. Once I was finally calm, I tried to get off his lap but he held me hostage in his arms. I looked up at him confused but he just smiled at me. I let it go and snuggled in further. I was still wearing my mom's hoodie that held her scent. It felt as if I was being comforted by both my parents... a dream that will never have a reality. But I'll enjoy this substitute, for now. That's when the man named Dr. Mason comes back into my room. He's handsome too, but a lot leaner than my dad is but just as tall. He has long red hair pulled into a low ponytail drapped over his shoulder. He wore a white lab coat with a stethoscope around his neck. He wore a kind smile and seemed a bit older than my dad. I, again tried to get off my dad's lap but he wasn't having it. "You can sit here while he asks you some questions." I looked up at my dad then over to the doctor. He smiled. "Yes. You may stay where you are. May I know the name of this beautiful little girl." I blushed and smiled at him. He had a calming aura as well, and he smelled of jasmine and fresh water. I liked being around him. "My name is Kwenali but call me Kwen." His smile widened. "It's a pleasure to meet you. I'm Dr. Mason and your father here wanted me to check in on you. You were asleep for a long time and it worried him. Are you ok?" I nodded my head. "Yes. I'm ok now. I haven't been able to get much sleep because I was looking after my mama. But now she gone. I was also crying alot, so I was probably just mentally and emotionally exhausted." Both Dr. Mason and my dad looked at me like I said something crazy. "You are quite smart I see. I wouldn't have expected you to say that to me." I smiled brightly. "I'm very smart. I'm going to college soon." "Oh really? Well you do have a few more years before that." I frowned and shook my head. "No, I don't. I start this fall. We'll, actually I don't know how I'll do that since I'm so far away from home." I just realized that I'm nowhere near the university I picked to go to school. A few universities wanted me in their medical programs because my entrance exams were top ranked. Now I don't even know if I'll be able to go to my first pick. Once I came out of my thoughts, I noticed the doc and my dad staring at me. "What?" "Umm. Are you serious about going to college in the fall. You're 12?" My dad questioned looking skeptical. "Yeah I'm serious. I graduated high-school right before mommy passed away. She couldn't see me walk in person, but auntie set her up with a laptop, and she recorded the whole thing so Mommy could see it. Before that, I took about 5 different entrance exams for college so I could go to med school. I want to become a doctor so I never have to watch a person I love fade away like that ever again... or anyone for that matter. All 5 schools accepted me, but I chose my favorite. I'm supposed to be starting in late August." They both were silent. The doctor began to chuckle lightly. "Well, well alpha. It seems your daughter is highly intelligent. I would've never saw this coming." My dad looked at me in surprise and then slowly smiled, carrasing my check with his finger. "It seems my daughter is a little genius. Congratulations, little one. I'm very proud of you." I smiled back at him. "Thank you." We stared at each other for a little while longer. "I have my diploma and my acceptance letters here with me if you want to verify it. But we can also call my aunt later and let her know. Maybe she'll know how to deal with the school thing." My dad nodded. "Ok. Well talk about that later." "Um, Kwen?" I turned to meet the doctor's gaze. "Can you tell me how your hair became silver?" I shrugged. "I grayed early?" I snickered at my own joke and Dr. Mason smiled. "When did it change colors?" I frowned at him confused by his question. "What do you mean by changed colors. I was born with Silver hair." His eyes nearly popped outta of his head and I felt my father's hands tighten around me. What's the problem? It's just gray hair. Everyone's hair will turn this color when they get older. I just so happened to skip a couple of steps. "I-I see. Do you have any baby pictures of you that I can see later. Right now, I'm gonna give you a small check-up, ok?" I nodded my head and allowed the check up to happened. We talked all through the examine and by the end of it, I was tired all over again. The doc and my dad both left me alone to sleep, and once again, I was off into dream land.Ismelda's POV:The hollow walls of the castle rung in my ears as my steps ricocheted off them. I schooled my anxious nerves before I stepped through the heavy doors. All heads turned to me before their bodies rose to acknowledge my presence. I walked with my head held high and my stride, slow. My father stood to his feet. His face was hard, but his hand was raised to recieve me. My long white hair was swept up in a high ponytail. My sleek neck was on display as it was accented with a sliver halter dress that sparkled. The dress hugged my figure just right, exposing my back. It had some weight to it, and it dragged slightly behind me. The silver highlighted the palness of my skin and the blue to my cold eyes. I extended my hand out to reach for my father's. My sharply pointed nails, that was polished with a dusty silver, shined in the reflection of the chandelier that hung over us all. He pulled me in. I leaned forward to kiss his cheek. He looked at me as I leaned back. Remnants of th
Gin's POV:I've noticed a pattern as of late. I came across an injured she-wolf, who just so happened to be a relative of the girl I almost killed. Now, I've come across of friend of the same girl. Apparently he's been taken hostage and forced into coercion: finding and tricking women of the same lineage as Kwen to "date" him, before they're taken, and their powers siphoned from them. He hasn't really told me much that has happened to him. I found him in bad shape when I was coming from seeing my mate at her home. She was needed and had to tend to her people. He looked as if he was running from something or someone... and he barely got away. He woke up just long enough to barely give me a recap. I haven't had any new visitors as of late, and I've been tryna keep a low profile. I've nursed him back from almost dying, which was basically cleaning his wounds and reset his shoulder. His wolf did the rest. He's been in and out of consciousness for about 3 days now.I came back into my plac
Mateo's POV:...Flashes of a woman with dark, brown skin appeared before me. Her smile was bright and her eyes held mystery that captivated me. Her danty fingers reached out to me.She was soft. Her eyes mesmerized me. One blue. One brown. I heard her whisper out to me."Teo."My heart fluttered. A bright light shined ahead of me, calling me towards it. I crept my way into the light, and it was blinding. I covered my eyes, and when I opened them again, I was in a room. It looked to be a nursey. The walls were painted in pinks and yellows, with little angels that lined the walls. I turned to see a woman with short, curly hair sitting in a rocking chair. She glanced back at me and then back down in front of her."Come close. She missed you. She wants to see her daddy before she sleeps."I quickly looked behind me to see if there was another here. No one was. I turned back to the mother/daughter duo, and slowly moved closer. I stood behind the woman who continued her rhythmic back and f
Kwen's POV:It's been a weird few days. Cersai has been, how do you say, clingy as fuck!! I mean, your girl can't even sneeze without him thinking I'm sick or something. I went to try and trian the other day, and he snatched up a solider so damn fast, talking about "he was staring too hard."Dude!!We were on the training field. Of course he's staring at me!! That's literally the point!! Damn! I give up the cookie one time, and now I done created a fan, who I can't get rid of. So it's more like a stalker with rights to my body.He lucky he cute.I had to sit him down and let him know that we'll have sex again, and that it wasn't a "goodbye fuck." Ima still be here and I ain't going nowhere. He chilled out, but he still seemed uneasy. I don't know what that's about, but I'm gonna find out. But first, I need to have a conversation with my auntie and Angel. Angel's been going through it. Aunt Mia and Angel has never been on the outs with each other, so she's taking it really hard. I'm no
Mia's POV:Flashback: 22 years ago...Someone buzzed up to our apartment. I looked up from the book that I was reading on the couch. A squeal came from down the hall, and I rolled my eyes."Girl, get your shit together. You act as if he went off to war and has been away for months."I said, sarcastically. Minnie came rushing out the bathroom, hair pinned back and makeup half done."Stop hating. It feels that way."I gave her look."Bitch, he was just here last night. Are y'all doing drugs or something I don't know about? If you are, for one, I'll be pissed, cause we supposed to do that shit together. Two, what drugs you on, cause y'all seem happy as hell all the damn time."I said. She started laughing, walking towards the door to buzz him up. She turned to me with a huge smile on her face."Ahhh... it's called love, darling. You should try it. And stop acting as if you don't like him. You love him and you know you do. Otherwise, his ass would never step foot in the house."Minnie sai
Marcus's POV: Walking towards the cellars, I heard the screams of our new prison. I could tell my face held a frown that refused to budge. Andrew and Jason both followed behind me. "The prince is sure about this?" Jason questioned in concern. "Wouldn't you be? If anyone told you that your mate and future children would always be at risk, wouldn't you try anything to stop it?" Andrew countered. "Yeah, but with the Library?? I don't know. I'm not sure if I'm projecting, but something just feels off. It's like everything is caving in, all at once. I'm not sure who to trust at this point." Jason finished. "Trust me. Trust my son... trust Kwen. I know you've only skimmed passed her before she had to leave, but trust me when I say, she is worth the risk. If Heather can find what she needs to keep those bastards from trying to hurt her, then so be it. Besides, I don't care if they exist yet or not, no one threatens my grandpups." I said, darkly. My wolf, Knox and I, were already ove
Kwen's POV:I need people to stop trying me. I really am a nice person, but I'm always looking like the asshole."Told ya she was badass."I heard one of the warriors say to Lamar as they stood before us. I chuckled. I looked Lamar in the eye and he seemed so bothered by me. I don't know why... nev
Lisa's POV:I've stayed to myself since I heard what my father and the others have been planning. When it comes to dealing with my father, I pretend that everything is fine. Still doting. Still loving. In reality, I side eye everything and silently question his motives. I knew I needed some outside
Tori's POV:Over 40 years ago...I sat in my room, gazing out the window with my knees pressed against my chest. I didn't know what to make of my situation. I prayed and prayed to the Goddess to strip me of my gifts, but she has only ignored me. Just the other day, I roamed the library of my pack,
Miza's POV:I felt her energy shift once the words fell from my lips. I had to finish all of what I was saying, before I wouldn't get the chance. I raised my hands up."WAIT! Before you criticize me, please let me explain."I begged. Her eyes sparkled a golden color that let me know that she was on
